Summary
Evien Battleblood is a dainty noble son who can't quite live up to his demanding family name, nor the high bar his three older brothers have set for him. Sylas Blackwell is the handsome, rakish war hero who's been hired to mold the boy into a proper man.
As it turns out, neither of them care to do this much. Master Blackwell has many other things he would rather teach young, pretty Evie, instead.
Directly into Evien’s ear is a rumble of laughter that is somehow increasingly bright, dark and cloying in equal measure.
The stranger tsks, though it sounds as if he’s smiling. “Ah, so I see. I have my work cut out for me, don’t I? A subdued little bird. This should prove interesting.”
