Medicinal Mutiny

Summary:

The batkids don’t treat their medical files like they should and it’s giving Bruce stress ulcers.

Work Text:

Jason won’t write down anything other than the injury in terms of his own pain scale. It’s ranged from ‘kill me, wholesaled them, this is going to suck, not as bad as the time I got hit with a crowbar.’ Or more often than not ‘call a doctor but not for me.’

Dick refuses to write down anything other than the recovery times with notes. In the same language he’d used when he founded Young Justice. It could be two days, a week or on one memorable occasion it was six months. With the note: ucci.

Bruce nearly had a cardiac infarction until Dick called him to say Conner got a little too rough. Then Bruce was practically begging him to say less for the love of god.

Tim will only list the retribution he got for the injuries suffered. It ranges from ‘fuck you, ICU, another notch on the body count, it won’t happen again.’

Damien likes to give the location of the injury but not the degree of it. Normally it’s ribs, back of the head, kneecap, stomach. Or on one less than fun occasion it was brain.

Bruce very quickly developed a mean case of GERD. Due to the stress of it all.

Stephanie somehow decided that the situation could best be described using the Waffle House index. It’s simple but doesn’t help anything because 99.9 percent of the time. She’s still going to go to Waffle House in the wee morning to get some sausage eggs and hash.

Cassie describes where and with what weapon but also seems to be allergic to giving the degree of injury. So far the worst was wrench paired with neck.

Babs writes it in police code which first of all, you’re paralyzed why are you getting injured. And two what do you MEAN DEAD BODY!!!!!????!!!??!?!

Terry is will simply write dead. Who’s dead? Could be the perp, could be his will to live apparently. Or could be Jason for tipping off his target again. It varies.

Duke is one of the worst who rates it based off a random color system. Which would be fine except he never consults his notes on it and more often than not simply forgets. Then reworks the whole system.

Kate uses a profanity index and every now and again just to fuck with Bruce she’ll switch it up.

Luke gives the location of events, the weapon used on him and who did it. Bruce is not amused that he’s basically playing reverse Clue to figure out specifics.

Harper likes to only write down the specifics in terms of 1-10. Bruce doesn’t have the legend key and Harper refuses to give up its location on the bat computer.

Bruce ends up going to his therapist twice to three times a week very quickly after each new adopted kid joins the field.
