ou came around winter time, when there were only a few campers still left there for the Winter season; mostly year-long campers. The wind was blowing harshly, sending flurries of snow everywhere and you could feel the snow and ice penetrating your frozen face. You wondered how you even survived when you were sure many would’ve keeled and frozen over by now as you were forced to make your way down here.
More snow began to fall onto you, which hindered your efforts to get up the hill to the pine tree. It seemed like the closer you got to this ‘camp’, the snow got higher and higher and you were basically up to your waist in snow as if the Snow itself had a vendetta against you or something.
French curse words began to pop in your mind and out of your mouth as you tried to swim through the snow and climb up the hill like you were climbing the alpines. When you finally did, you felt like you had climbed Mt. Everest as you looked down at this camp. It would’ve certainly looked idyllic if it weren’t the snow practically covering most of it like an avalanche had occurred to smother it.
The only thing that wasn’t covered in snow was a high-tower bonfire that somehow was still roaring high and kept the snow at bay with its surrounding heat. You thought you saw a little girl there and before you could think of being worried, the wind blew at you from the North, sending more flurries of snow that knocked your balance off and you let out a mix of a yell, scream, and curses as you were launched across the snow.
You continued to slide, helpless trying to regain your balance as your hands clawed out both snow and ice as the world around you and with your vision, you swore you saw people before pain flared up into you as you slid up the steps of a big house and crashed through the door.
You let out a groan and blinked at your dizzying vision and swore you saw a man wearing a Hawaiian shirt and a half-man, half-horse person playing cards look down at you with wide eyes and a floating symbol of your head.
That was how you were introduced to camp and was claimed as a demigod of Boreas, The God of the North Wind and God of Winter.
-
Power-wise, you are able to have the powers and control ice, snow, and cold winds. Its rather self-explanatory with the snow and ice powers, but you can summon and create snow and ice at will. You can use it alter your enviroment or create weapons on the sly; though whether its extremely effective against monsters when you use an ice weapon as opposed to celestial bronze, its not that immediate but its good in a pinch.
Also, while you can summon non-cold winds, it's almost inherent with Boreas connection with the North and being the associated god of Winter. -
That said, even though you can control snow and ice and can endure cold temperatures, you may or may not freeze over in freezing temperatures, you can still feel it. Now whether you are immune to arctic like temperatures, that’s unsure because you are still half-mortal. Don’t push your luck with it though.
-
Elsa from Frozen and “Let it Go” anyone? There's going to be so many Frozen references.
-
Khione does not like you, purely because you’re mortal but begrudgingly tolerates your existence because you are Boreas’ kid and wouldn’t be happy with her if anything happened to you if she acted first. Hence at any inconvenience, she will use snow and ice to make your life annoying.
You learn pretty fast how to control your winter powers when the freezer is a little bit icy and blasts snow at you when you open it, when your tongue almost sticks to your Popsicle, or preventing many, many icy falls on the walkways. -
Zethe will persuade you to be just like him and icy and beautiful, but much like Khione, it is because you are kin that is nice to you. However, his temperature is like ice; beautiful on the outside but dangerous overall.
-
Calais will assume you are interested in hockey or know about hockey. If you know at least some hockey and don’t mind watch hockey with him, there’s one sibling on your side. However, he will insist playing hockey with you and if you’ve seen hockey players smash each other at full speed, then yeah, be careful of that. You could always enjoy pizza together, though there’s a feeling he’s a fan of cold pizza.
-
Many will assume you are ‘cold’ and temperamental whether in personality, facial expression, and so forth. Whether its because of your ice powers or the reputation of Boreas, its something you have to deal with.
-
That said, you’re a lot more approachable in the summer because you naturally can produce colder temperature so people feel cooler around your presence. Around those who know about your ice powers, they ask for favours or ask politely if you can help them deal with the intense heat at times.
Then again, you might be be melting under the summer heat because of said-heat which makes people be sympathetic to you and it does help break the image of being completely cold. -
Inadvertently the lava climbing wall becomes a tug of war of bane and good fortune because the lava makes you feel very weak but on the other hand, you find yourself helping others with ice and snow powers whenever campers get scalded by the lava.
-
If you were born in the North, live or from up North, have Northern ties, or just born Canadian, you’re more than likely a child of Boreas.
-
French is a language you just know or are able to learn much more easily than most because Boreas is located in Quebec. You also have the possibility of learning other Northern based languages as well.
-
You probably have encountered many pegasus and other horses that are technically your half-siblings given how Boreas has been known to sire foals with other horses. On the other hand, it’s said that Cleopatra is a child of Boreas so there are some cool siblings you’re technically related to!
-
When you ride a horse or a pegasus, you ride like a torrential force that is swift and brutal. The cold winds do not hinder the wings of your pegasus or the hooves of your horse, in fact, you can use the cold wind to your advantage. If you ever ride across the waters, by chance with an equine that is a child of Boreas, together you can run across the water when the hooves touch become ice.
-
You’re pretty good at any snow sport because of your connection with winter. You don’t necessarily need actual skates to zip around the ice rink or need snowshoes or any special equipment to walk on snow either without sinking either. This also applies to snow man building as well.
-
Just be careful making snowmen or any snow or ice sculptures, because they will easily come to life and while it does take some effort, you are bannned from making a snowman army in a friendly bout of snowball fights.
-
You don’t have a good affinity with children of Hephaestus or children of Notus, mostly because they’re father is a god of fire and the forges don’t make you feel too well. Especially if they can wield fire. It doesn’t necessarily mean they are your immediate enemies and you can’t be friends, but it does take some effort to them.

The snow and ice covered city of Quebec was even more enchanting at night, with the lights dotting around the area bouncing off the crystals of the snow and ice, making it glitter even more. The sky also had that lighting that was neither dark nor bright either, making one feel liminal in a sense.
However, where you were rudely reminded of your current situation. The freezing chill penetrated to your bone, its sheer coldness gripping you like claws.
If you weren't made aware that you were a child of Boreas, the god of the North Wind and Winter, you would be a lot more worried about hypothermia and freezing to death by new accquainted your godly half-sister, Khione: The Goddess of Snow.
Whom had brought a snowstorm upon her arrival to your home and in a flurry of snow, brought you to where your shared father. Her words were icy and sharp as she kept reminding you she brought you here on behalf of your father, a command really; her tone bitterly cold.
"So where is…" your voice fell, wondering if you should say 'our father' or 'Boreas' to Khione, before deciding to play it safe. "Where is our lord father Boreas?"
Khione stopped and turned her head to regard you icely. Not steely icey like before but still cold regardless.
"Father has momentarily stepped away for his Winter duties. He has been sending cold snaps across the Eastern side of the countries. It is why he-" she gritted her pearly snow teeth as she hissed, "He passed on the duty for me to bring you here."
"Oh."
"Father did say he would stop by here to talk to you when he returns back for a moment, before he will inflict more cold snaps across the North America continents. Until then, I am ordered to make sure you arrive here safely and to play host."
You wanted to say something but the growing flurry of snow around Khione made you consider. She stalked closer to you and you steeled yourself as she leaned close to you, her face twisted in a cold demeanor, with cold frost puffing out of her.
The cold didn't bother you anyway, but you did feel something similar as your eyes met with Khione's ice cold ones.
"I don't see why father would sire another child, espescially when likely your mortal mother wasn't as significant as my mother, Oreithyia, who is an Athenian princess and became an immortal nymph by our godly father. To think I would share blood with a mere mortal."
You felt the raging, indigant fire rise within you despite being a supposed demigod of Winter and like spite, it cut through easily like an icicle. "Well, my mother must have caught his eye for a reason if I was born then after soooo many years, doesn't it? Hey, if I was born too, then who's to say how many other siblings of ours are born too. I can only imagine the family gatherings flooding this whole floor."
You could actively see Khione being furious and you smirked.
