Chapter Text
There are just times when someone has to go through really harsh stuff in their life, it's something that will always happen, no life is ever perfect, they always have to go through something that makes they're lives harder to push through, and while some can push through them and move on and be stronger, there are just some who can't push past it.. and that is what happened to Blu.
Blu thought his life would be completely happy after he fell in love with Jewel and had a family, he had always hoped nothing would go wrong that would destroy what he worked to achieve. But even after having 3 kids, 2 daughter's and a son, there was still the lingering fear that something will take it all away from him, and unfortunately, something did..
While his family were thought to be the last Blu Macaw's on the planet, they had heard reports that there were possible signs of more of them within the Amazon Rainforest, and while Blu was worried on wanting to go there, his wife insisted and wanted it to be a journey for the family, so Blu had went with his family to the Amazon to see if these rumors were really true.
But while they did find the Blu Macaw tribe, they also found Jewel's family, her father, aunt, and close friend, and while Blu wanted to try and impress them all, he was looked down upon and rejected for being different, for being.. a pet. Even during the short time he was here, the tribe didn't like him much at all, always making fun of him for not being used to the jungle, for carrying human stuff around all the time, and never doing anything to earn they're respect.
Blu tried the hardest he could, but when he accidently went into another tribes territory, they challenged the tribe for all of his tribes nut collection and food supply, which would be really bad for them all. But when they were so close to winning a football game, or soccer as others call it, Blu accidentally fired at the wrong goal, and caused his entire tribe to lose a huge chunk of their food supply, this really made the tribe hate him completely, and Jewel's family in particular.
He tried the hardest he could to push through this, and hopefully could make things better, but each choice he made, just made things worse and worse, but it was the recent argument he and Jewel had that really destroyed his hopes. She called him selfish, said that he was only thinking about himself and not the family. Blu felt like that was a gut punch to all he's worked for, he wanted to get her family's approval the entire time they were here, but it not only destroyed any chance he had to be liked by them.. it also destroyed his relationship with his family..
Jewel had left him alone in the Pit of Doom, he was sitting on one of the bleachers, crying to himself. What was he selfish for? He did so much to try and make things better, but he only made things worse, he most likely destroyed all the chances he had with his family, and now he was left alone.. without Jewel, or any of his friends to support him..
"Why.. why am I selfish?.. I tried so hard Jewel.. I tried.. so hard..." Blu asked with tears in his eyes while he couldn't stop thinking about what happened, he had everything he could wish for, a happy family, it was the only thing he ever really wanted, but now that this has happened.. He's possibly destroyed all of it..
"Maybe you should stop thinking about yourself, and start thinking about us." Jewel's words echoed through his his head, that was the last thing she told him before he was left alone, it felt like a slap in the face for all he's been trying to do, he just didn't know how to process it.. but one thing he did know.. it broke his heart hearing it.. after all they've been through.. this is something he couldn't recover from..
If I'm the selfish one.. then I shouldn't be here.." Blu told himself as he got up and made sure he was all packed.
"If she's happier here.. she'll be better off.. without me.." Blu told himself as he had decided to leave, he knew the directions that would bring him back home to Rio, perhaps some time alone could help him process this, but he didn't know if it would make it worse for him..
Blu looked back at the rainforest one more time before he took off..
"Good bye Jewel.. I hope you find your happiness here.." Blu said with tears and almost took off, but a familiar voice stopped him right before he did.. someone familiar..
"Dad! Stop!" The voice shouted which got his attention, Blu turned to where the voice came from, and looked surprised to see who it was, it was his daughter Bia, his youngest daughter, she quickly flew to him and took heavy breaths as she saw he was about to leave.
"Bia.. what are you.. doing here?" Blu asked really surprised to see her here.
"Dad.. I.. I heard everything.. I was coming to comfort you on what happened.. but then I heard what mom said.. I.. I'm so sorry for what happened, I know you were trying your hardest to fit in, but it all came crashing down for you, I didn't want my father to be left alone on this.." Bia said recovering her energy while she had tears in her eyes and looked at him. Blu was shocked to hear her daughter heard all of that, something like this is a lot for someone so young, and for his youngest daughter to hear all of it..
"Bia.. I'm so sorry.. I didn't want you to hear all of this.." Blu said with tears while he gave her a hug.
"Dad.. I'm so sorry for what you've gone through.. You went through so much.. and for mom to say all of that to you.." Bia said with regret while Blu held her tightly.
"What am I doing wrong Bia? I tried so hard to show everyone I'm trying my best.. but all I did was make things worse.. and she.. called me selfish because of it.. Do you really think.. I'm selfish Bia?" Blu asked with sadness while she looked up at him.
"You didn't do anything wrong, I know you tried your best here, but it just didn't work out. And if mom said something like that to you, then she's the selfish one for not realizing how hard you were trying, I tried helping you here when I could.. but nothing we did worked.. and now.. the tribe hates you.." Bia said with regret while she reflected on the events that happened here.
"I'm so sorry Bia, I didn't want this to happen to us.. but now.. I don't know what to do.." Blu said sadly after letting her go.
"I saw you were about to leave.. you were about to head back to Rio, weren't you?" Bia asked looking up at him.
"I.. I was.. Bia, if she's happier here.. then it's best I don't do anything to ruin this for her.." Blu said as he turned to the sky, and saw it was a bit cloudy, but good enough for him to head back home.
"Dad.. if your going.. then I'm coming with, I don't want you to go through this kind of problem on your own, you know what our family, birds of blue feathers.." Bia asked waiting for him to finish it.
"Have to stick together.. If.. your certain of this Bia, then get your things and we'll.." Blu said before she finished it for him.
"I lost most of what I had during the time here, I'm completely ready to go." Bia said showing she had nothing on her.
"Okay Bia, we'll get you more stuff when we get back, thank you so much for this Bia, your.. all I have left now.." Blu said with regret while they looked up at the sky.
"And I won't leave you dad, you ready to go?" Bia asked while Blu looked back at the jungle one more time.
"I'm.. ready.. let's go Bia.." Blu said sadly before they both took off into the sky's, and headed back home, completely leaving their family behind, hopefully so they can have a better life without them..
Blu and Bia kept flying for what felt like hours to them, they had flown far from the rainforest by now and were over some of the city's in Brazil, Blu looked down and had tears in his eyes as they flew over it, it was nighttime by now, and they could see the lights of the city's below them illuminate they're path, Blu kept crying to himself as he just couldn't stop thinking about what happened, he never thought he would lose so much of what he has dear, and now.. he only has his youngest daughter left..
"Dad.. I'm so sorry for what's happening to you, I know your.. really upset by now.." Bia said sadly while she was on his back to take a rest, it was starting to rain a bit as they were flying home, but Blu didn't mind it right now.
"I'm sorry Bia, it's just.. I can't stop thinking about her.. we did so much together.. she was the reason I can fly at all.. she was the first true person that helped me feel.. like me.. but now.. I feel like I can't do anything right.. all I did during this trip.. was break apart our family.." Blu said as he couldn't stop thinking about the times he's spent with all of them.
"I know, it's tough to move on from things like this.. and if we see our family again.. will things be the same? Or will we all.. truly be split up because of this?" Bia asked with fear from the thought of it.
"I don't know Bia.. I don't know.." Blu said with concern too while thinking of that too.
But as the two of them kept flying over the sky's, the rain was starting to fall harder which got they're attention.
"Dad, maybe you should fly a bit lower to be safe.." Bia suggested starting to get worried for this.
"Yeah good id..." Blu said right before a loud thunder clap was heard above them, this scarred them both and they quickly looked up to see the sky, and they both had a look of fear with what they were seeing. Dark clouds that covered the entire sky was coming over them, and the land they were flying above, they could make out flashes of lightning inside the clouds, which meant one thing.. they were flying into a storm.
"Oh no, dad, get us out of here!" Bia shouted while the rain was falling down on them far harder, lightning flashed over the area and Blu was getting really scarred.
"Hang on!" Blu shouted before he tried to fly through the storm and get to lower ground, the rain just kept getting worse and worse, the once starry night sky they were flying through mere minutes ago, was now a harsh and rough storm that covered them both.
"Dad look out!" Bia shouted right before a lightning flash almost hit them both, they both screamed as the thunder kept clapping around them, and the wind was picking up and was far stronger then it was moments ago.
"Bia, the wind! It's.. too strong..!" Blu shouted as he tried his hardest to fly through this, but it just wouldn't stop getting worse.
"Dad, please! I know you can get us through this!" Bia shouted with fear as the thunder was getting even louder, Blu could feel the wind starting to overpower him, and he couldn't push through it.
"I'm.. sorry Bia.. No matter what I do.. I just keep.. failing.." Blu said with regret as the harsh storm finally overtook them both, and they began to fall out of the sky.
"Dad!!" Bia shouted with horror while they both fell together, Blu wrapped his wings around her to keep her close to him, if this was how he was gonna die, at least he could keep his daughter safe.
"I'm sorry Bia.. I love you.." Blu said with tears in his eyes while they both started to cry.
"I love you too dad.. no matter.. what.." Bia said holding him close, they both closed they're eyes and accepted their fate, and they began to fall through the sky's together as lightning flashed over where they were.. and loud thunder was heard through the entire sky..
We now open to what looks like a place completely different from Rio, and Brazil as a whole. There were large mountains in the background, and the clouds of places below were seen below the mountains, a soft flute melody was heard playing as the shot shows the beautiful sun rise that comes over an unknown valley. And on a special hill with a Peach Tree, an old turtle was seen walking his way towards it, he looked incredibly old but really wise, but what was strange about him is that he could walk like a human, and he looked far different from any other animal in the Amazon.
"Ah, the Peach Tree is close to it's blossom.." The turtle said in a calm voice as it walked up to the hill, he always enjoyed seeing the sunrise like this, it was one of the most peaceful things he's felt in his very long life. But as He came up to see the sunrise on this new day, something interesting caught his eye, something.. blue.
"What may this be?" He asked curiously as he went over to the peach tree, just below him, he could see what looked like a small bird unconscious by the tree, he was holding a much smaller one in his wings, they both were passed out, and they looked a bit injured.
"Hmm.. the universe has it's interesting fates, and I see something within you.." He said looking at Blu in particular, He made a special hand gesture, and by touching a specific nerve on they're chests, that made some of the injuries they had fade away, it was one of the many tricks he had up his shell.
Blu groaned with pain as he finally started to wake up, his body did hurt a lot after falling from the storm, but most importantly.. he was alive? How could he have survived a fall like that? He felt something stir in his wings, and finally started opening his eyes to see where he is.
"Where.. am I?" Blu asked weakly as he tried to focus his vision, he felt something stir in his wings and looked down to see what it is, but to his surprise and relief, he saw Bia was waking up too, and she looked okay.
"Dad.. where.. are we?" Bia asked finally waking up from the tough fall they had.
"I.. don't.. know.." Blu said confused as well, he looked around them and saw they were underneath a tree of sorts, and were on a hill of some kind.
"Ah, you two are awake, I am relieved to know you two are okay." A strange voice spoke which got they're attention.
"Um, thank you.. sir...?" Blu said turning around to where the voice was, but to their surprise, they saw a huge turtle standing above them, he was taller then Linda and Tulio, and he looked extremely old too.
"Who.. who are you?! What are you?!" Blu asked scarred holding his daughter close.
"What is this place? Where are we?!" Bia asked hugging her father with fear, the turtle smiled softly and showed no signs of harm.
"Do not fear you two, I am not gonna hurt you, I found you two under this peach tree, and checked to see if your okay, you both look a bit injured, but it's nothing too serious, I assure that." He said softly which surprised them with how he was able to speak.
"Who.. who are you? Where are we?" Blu asked as he tried standing up, Bia got on her feet too and they looked around to see where they are.
"I am Master Oogway, the creator of Kung Fu, and you are in the Valley Of Peace, within China." Oogway introduced which surprised them with that answer.
"I've never heard of a place like this in China, especially with there being giant talking turtles here too." " Bia said really shocked to see this which made him chuckle.
"Well I assure you again, I am but a friend. I haven't seen one of your kind in a long time, may I ask what your names are too?" Oogway asked helping them up while they were still nervous about all of this.
"Uh.. my name is Blu.. and this is my daughter.. Bia.." Blu introduced looking up at him.
"Ah, your names are Blu and Bia, it is nice to meet you, I wasn't expecting to meet you two here, but then again, I also should've.." Oogway said looking at the sunrise which confused them both once again.
"What do you mean by that? Were you.. expecting people like us to show up here?" Blu asked confused on what this meant.
"I did. I can sense you have been through a rough time, I can see it in your expressions, you've both been through a lot, haven't you?" Oogway asked turning to them again, they were surprised to hear he saw through they're thoughts like that, but then again.. it was easy to pick up on what a heartbreak is..
"Yeah.. we both have.. we both got caught up in a storm on our way home, we thought we were gonna die.. but then we ended up here.. how did we get here anyway?" Bia asked not getting any explanation for this.
"To me, it was the universe who brought you here. If the universe brought you here specifically, then that must mean there is something special with you two." Oogway answered which made them look weirded out.
"Um.. okay?" Blu asked really not understanding this at all.
Oogway hummed and looked at them both.
"I can see something in you both, a fire that burns bright, even when you two don't know it, there is something in you that I see, and I.. am wanting to help you see it yourselves.." Oogway said walking around them while they just couldn't understand this.
"What do you mean by that? We just met you and your already saying you wanna help us?" Bia asked confused from all of this.
"That is what my heart is telling me to do, and something tells me the universe brought you here for this reason as well, I see two souls that are pure and good, and they have both been through tough times recently, especially you, Blu." Oogway said turning to him in particular, and he looked sad being told that.
"I.. I just don't know what to do.. me and my daughter are now far away from our home and.. family.. and now.. we may not have anywhere to go.." Blu said sadly while Bia hugged him close.
"It's okay dad.. I'm here for you.." Bia assured once more while Oogway looked at them, he could see they have problems of they're own, but knew it wouldn't be easy to posh through them, but he could see something in them too, they're hearts are pure, and if properly trained, they could be Kung fu masters..
"Blu, Bia, while you both have gone through a lot right now, I can see you need help. And I would like to offer it, I am the creator of Kung fu, an ancient martial art that's been taught for generations, and this valley, is my very home." Oogway said softly while they were both surprised to hear that.
"Wait.. you created Kung fu?!" Blu asked really shocked to hear this.
"Yes, and I see potential in you. With what you've been through, I can see your ancestors within you, with proper training, you both could learn Kung fu, and become masters." Oogway explained while they looked even more surprised.
"Wait, us? Learning Kung fu?! I'm sorry sir, but that sounds like a bit of a stretch.." Bia said really weirded out by this.
"And what do you mean by.. ancestors?" Blu asked confused on what that meant.
"I see the descendants of warriors who once knew Kung fu, and they were Blue Macaws, just like you. I had hoped that one day I would have the honor of teaching they're descendants, and now.. I have that chance." Oogway said looking at them both.
"Are you saying.. we have the potential to learn how to fight?" Blu asked really shocked hearing this.
"That is what I'm saying. You both could become great fighters, and learning Kung fu won't just help you learn how to fight, it will also help you learn, how to achieve Inner peace, and push past what you've been through. I can see your heart is broken Blu, and if you and your daughter agree to this, it could help heal you both, physically, mentally, and spiritually." Oogway explained with a smile once more.
"Dad.. are you.. sure you wanna follow along with him on this? I mean.. this is pretty weird from the sound of it, especially since we don't know where we are?" Bia asked confused on what to do here. Blu thought really hard about this offer, while learning Kung fu is a bit of a stretch even for them, if Oogway is really honest about this, maybe this could help heal the pain he's feeling now.
"I.. think we should do this Bia, I won't be around forever, and if you know how to fight, you can keep yourself safe, and for me.. it really could help me.. and plus.. it does sound like fun honestly.." Blu said with a nervous smile looking at her.
"Whatever happens dad, I'm by your side." Bia assured which made him smile hearing it.
"Thank you so much Bia.." Blu said gratefully before they both turned to Oogway who was waiting patiently.
"Okay, we'll do it. We'll.. learn Kung fu, and hopefully this can help us push past what's happened recently.." Blu said looking down a little.
"Do not worry Blu, I assure you things will be fine, there will be tough obstacles to go through, but I know you will push through it. Come both of you, there are some students I'd like you to meet at the Jade Palace." Oogway said as he started moving down the hills.
"Jade Palace?" Bia asked surprised to hear a name like that.
"Yes, it is something you will both be amazed by." Oogway said while chuckling, they both looked at eachother one more time before deciding to follow him, they both didn't know what to expect from this, but this was gonna be the start of a journey for sure, they just hoped whatever happens, one day.. they can fix things with Jewel and they're family..
