“Pa!” exclaimed baby Harry.
“That’s right, Padfoot!” said Sirius eagerly from where he sat curled on the floor next to the boy.
“No, he’s saying Papa! Isn’t that right, Harry? Your first word is going to be Papa?” prompted James.
“Bababa,” babbled Harry.
“Pa. Pa-pa.”
“You don’t even call yourself that,” scoffed Sirius. “You’re trying to say Padfoot, aren’t you Pup? Pa-Padfoot.”
“Ga.”
“Pa-pa.”
“Padfoot. Paddy.”
“Moo!” Harry cried out suddenly with a huge smile, lunging forward from where he sat on his baby blanket. His chubby arms reached out and he looked past both James and Sirius.
“Moo Moo Moo!”
Remus, who had just arrived, swept Harry up in his arms.
“That’s my Harry! Did you learn how to say Moony just for me?”
“Moo!”
“Well shit,” muttered James and Sirius in unison.
