Suddenly Leonard grabbed his hand again, this time just gently holding it in his own.
“Maybe next time when you get attacked by an unknown plant you come to me directly”, he whispered, “could save us both some trouble”
“I might consider it”, Spock replied still with his eyes closed. Although he couldn’t see it, Spock was sure that Leonard rolled his eyes. The doctor went to withdraw his hand but to his own surprise Spock held onto it.
Or: Spock gets hurt by an unknown plant and ignores it until it gets bad enough that he has no other choice but to visit sickbay. Now it’s up to Bones to take care of the stubborn Vulcan.
