Chapter Text
“The dragon? That’s what you’re worried about? Not the people you almost killed?!” Stoick voice rang out, Hiccup felt the beating of her heart as everything smelled like smoke, the ringing in her ears weren’t helping as she watched her father leave the great hall.
“You’ve thrown your lot in with them” rang out, as she watched the flames form around her, looking back at the door her father left through. “You're not a Viking” feeling the floor shift beneath her, she squeezes her eyes as tight as possible. “You are not my daughter” finally feeling herself fall into the blazing fire.
Shooting right up, Hiccup gasps for air as her breath quickens, her hands clenching at her chest as she brings her legs up as she rests her head onto her knees, tears falling down her cheeks as she tries to calm herself down.
She feels something nudge against her as she looks over to see Toothless, bringing one of her shaking hands towards him, she lets herself feel the scales of her best friend as Toothless croons to her. She brings her head onto Toothless’ letting the night fury rest his on her lap, they stay like that for a good while as she turns to look outside her window, the sky is lightened up a bit showing that morning is close by.
“You want to go for a morning fly?” She whispers, Toothless purring at the idea.
Hiccup gets up and puts on her winter clock, which consists of a short fur hooded cape as Hiccup and Toothless sneak their way downstairs and out of the house, taking a good look at the village.
“Ready bud” Hiccup says Toothless croons as she gets on the saddle and the two dart off into the sky.
Hiccup feels the cool morning breeze on her face, as she and Toothless soar the sky, Toothless dives down towards the ocean as Hiccup sees Scauldrons swim on the surface water. Just above the water, Toothless is gliding as Hiccup reaches down, running her hand in the water.
Toothless shoots right back into the sky reaching above the clouds, amazed by the scenery Hiccup lets out a small ‘wow’ as the two take a calm route with the other flying dragons.
“Toothless, I want to try something” Hiccup says, as Toothless croons at her, unhooking herself from the saddle and taking one deep breath as she slides off the saddle as she plummets downwards towards the ocean. Toothless follows quickly as the two-spiral face to face, seeing that the ocean is coming closer, Hiccup reaches for the saddle and brings herself back on. Quickly hooking herself back on the saddle, Toothless extended wings help glide them just above the ocean again.
Hiccup finally feels the beating in her heart, as she pumps her arms shouting an excited “WOO.” catching her breath, she sees Berk in view, smiling as she guides Toothless back home.
