Chapter Text
~ Baby, You're My Angel ~
John walked into the living room and the first thing he noticed was that one of his partners was not there. The second thing he noticed was that the Angel was wearing a shirt which said I Support Women's Wrongs across the front.
John frowned and asked him, "Where did you get that?"
The Angel attempted to communicate through their telepathic bond, but it was still a somewhat unreliable means of communication and the emotional vibes and vague images he sent to his partner did nothing to enhance John's understanding of the situation.
"He ordered it off the internet," Riley supplied helpfully.
"Oh... I didn't know he knew how to do that."
"I let him borrow my phone." After a brief pause, Riley added, "He learned about internet memes on his own."
This revelation was met with a blank look and after a long awkward silence, John said, "Do I even want to know what internet memes are?"
"Probably not."
John was going to leave it at that, but then another thought occurred to him and he said, "Wait... how does he even know what it says on the shirt if he still doesn't know English?"
"He learned how to read it visually, but pronouncing the words out loud is too hard for him still, apparently."
Which didn't sound right, but John didn't know enough about learning English as a second language to disagree with that explanation.
"Okay..." he said. "One last question: has Beverly seen him wearing that?"
"No," Riley answered. "But he also has a plan for what to do if she gets upset when she does see him wearing it."
"What plan?"
Riley turned to the Angel and said, "Show him."
The Angel took off his t-shirt to reveal that he was wearing a second t-shirt underneath. This one had a picture of some guy on it which was subtitled You've never done anything wrong ever in your life. I know this and I love you.
