Summary
“Why didn’t you tell me? That you’re going into a rut? Is it that bad? Are you worried about it?” Max stops for a second, eyes trained on Charles, and he knows there’s only one thing that would make Charles this reluctant to tell him. “Do you not want me with you?”
Charles freezes.
“That’s it, isn’t it?” Max laughs to himself, then laughs in relief. “God, baby, I thought something was seriously wrong, I thought- but it’s okay. You know I wouldn’t hold that against you.”
Watching as Charles swallows and stays silent, Max frowns.
“Baby?”
Yet again, this is both extremely soft and very dirty, mostly because it's insecure Charles going into a rut and reassuring Max pushing for things they both want.
If you're not into ABO/rut fics, just know that the dynamics don't show up very prominently and, if I say so myself, this is not your typical oh-he's-rutting fic.
