Project DAEDALUS overview:

Project lead: Dr Peter E. Sterling, Advisor 05-8

Assigned site(s): Temporary Research Site-35

Assigned departments: Department of Extratemporal studies, Parachronology division, Department of Dimensional studies

Research heads: Dr. David Stone, Dr. Emily Lukas, Dir. Nicola Tanner

AIM:

Due to the recent lack of qualified personnel recruited into the Foundation, an elective has been made to draw multiversal variants of productive senior staff members from adjacent timelines. Project DAEDALUS aims to recruit personnel with the required skills and temperance to assist the Foundation. If this criteria is not met then suitability to learn and commitment to the Foundation’s mission will be considered.

APPLICATION:

Project requirements-

  • Access to numerous members of high level personnel
  • Paradox Exodus Engine
  • MAGIC DRAWER
  • 300 GW power (per activation)
  • Constant supply of liquid helium
  • Heavy duty Scranton Reality Anchors (both permanent and portable)
  • [REDACTED]

These components combined will create the Multiversal Intertime Recovery Engine Reactor (MIRER), capable of extracting suitable subjects from adjacent timelines.

All testing has taken place at Temporary Research Site-35, located in [REDACTED], Switzerland. Facilities at this location can house up to 700 staff, 100 anomalies and has an on-site MTF unit (Delta-35 “Gate Guards”).

Due to the large scale of the MIRER and the facilities required, the public has been informed that Site-35 is instead a nuclear research facility known as CERN.

Test log (DA-01):

Timeline designation: T-344876-2018-CW

Multiverse variant: D-9887 (Male, 34, No mental abnormalities, No discernable anomalous abilities)

MIRER was activated at 13.49 CET. Effects are as follows:

13.49- First stage initialised 200GW power used

13.50- Search phase initiated

13.56- Suitable variant located.

14.02- Initial formation of physical body

14.07- Formation of subject assumed completed. Process terminated

14.08- Subject unresponsive and collapses.

Subject’s vitals were stable but X-ray and MRI scans of the internals revealed that the brain matter had not fully formed. Minor irregularities from D-9887 were noted, though this is to be expected due to timeline discrepancies. Subject was terminated via injection into the bloodstream after 48 hours.

Note- The amount of power and time taken to complete the process must be increased for further use. More time is needed for the brain to fully form. -Dr. Sterling

Test log (DA-02):

Timeline designation: T-677765-2018-QE

Multiverse variant: D-10442 (Female, 28, No mental abnormalities, No discernable anomalous abilities)

MIRER was activated at 16.10 CET. Effects are as follows:

16.10- First stage initialised 200GW power used

16.12- Search phase initiated

16.17- Suitable variant located.

16.23-Initial formation of physical body

16.33- Subject seems aware of surroundings and begins vocalisation. Process assumed complete and terminated.

Subject’s vitals were stable, no discernable mental or physical abnormalities outside of the minor irregularities expected. Subject expresses confusion at their situation, location and complains of physical nausea.

{Extraneous data removed. 13 additional test logs available upon request from Dr. Peter Sterling}

Analysis indicates that the optimal time for formation is 10-15 minutes from first materialisation, though timing varies slightly from subject to subject.

Note- After cross examining with other tests, side effects of being relocated across timelines include; dizziness, mild nausea and confusion. These effects are mild and will typically pass within 12-16 hours. Further testing is needed to determine whether anomalies can be successfully replicated and whether variants can be drawn from different points in the timeline. -Dr. Sterling

Test log (DA-16):

Timeline designation: T-112973-1994-FD

Multiverse variant: D-13776 (Female, 45, No mental abnormalities, No discernable anomalous abilities)

MIRER was activated at 11.27 CET. Effects are as follows:

11.27- First stage initialised 200GW power used

11.28- Search phase initiated

11.33- Suitable variant located.

11.39- Initial formation of physical body

11.50- Process complete

Subject’s vitals were stable. Subject’s biological and chronological age matched that of 21 years old, making them 24 years younger than the original D-13776. They had no knowledge of the existence of the foundation and are pending release under civilian status.

Addendum: Under interview the subject believed that the year was 1994 and expressed confusion and panic upon being greeted with new technology. There is ongoing training to counter this.

Note- Earlier variants seem to be stable, if a bit stuck in their own time. This will prove useful for creating more controlled variants of some more reckless staff. -Dr Sterling

Test log (DA-17):

Timeline designation: T-754190-2018-IR

Multiverse variant: SCP-105

Note: SCP-105 was selected as a subject due to its cooperation and commitment to the Foundation’s mission.

MIRER was activated at 11.34 CET. Effects are as follow:

11.34- First stage initialised 200GW power used

11.35- Search phase initiated

11.42- Suitable variant located.

11.48- Initial formation of physical body

12.00- Process complete.

Subject’s vitals were stable, only expected discrepancies present.

Subject complains of physical symptoms and expresses confusion at the situation.

Necessary identity information confirmed (see interview log (SCP-105-VAR) below);

Interview log (SCP-105-VAR):

Interviewer: Dr. ███

Interviewee: SCP-105-VAR

Dr.███- Hello, do you mind stating your name for the record?

SCP-105-VAR- What the hell are you on about? Where am I?

Dr.███- I’ll explain everything. First, state your name for the record.

SCP-105-VAR- Geez, fine. Iris Thompson. Spelt I-R-I–

Dr.███- Great, now that your identity has been confirmed, we can proceed with questioning. Let’s start, how old are you?

{Extraneous data removed}

Subject’s anomalous ability was observed and confirmed. Timeline had minor deviation from baseline, resulting in near identical anomalous abilities.

Interactions between SCP-105 and SCP-105-VAR are currently prohibited, pending approval from the 05 council.

Testing has proven that the MIRER is capable of its directive.
Project DAEDALUS will continue as planned.

Notes:

Just an overview of the main project and setting for the first chapter. Next up we’ll be meeting the first of our variants. :]
