The New York Sun - January 20, 2025
Summary:
What's in the news for Planet Earth, 1836, in New York City, according to the New York Sun? Let's find out!
Notes:
This is an AO3 version of a Pulp project put together by the amazing riveracheron! Please go check out their version - I'm just making one that's also accessible on ao3! Their design choices and formatting for the article are so cool.
(also, please ignore how the co-creators are formatted for this - the only one who wrote whichever chapter is mentioned in the opening note for said chapter.)
Chapter 1: Herschel at The Sun: “Every Word You Read Was True!”
Summary:
Written by VioletHeart77.
Chapter Text
Naysayers, skeptics, and the New York Sentinel have been stunned into speechlessness following a personal appearance by Sir John Herschel at the office of The Sun, where he confirmed his authorship of “Great Astronomical Discoveries” and verified the revolutionary findings of Life on the moon outlined therein.
Correspondence has been sent to both the Edinburgh Journal of Science and the Royal Astronomical Society offering congratulations on the latest success of their Favorite Son, as well as requesting their comments on the reported loss of his famous telescope in a devastating fire, which Herschel narrowly escaped without harm just before traveling to New York.
