Izuku grins, “No way!” Pa ignores him, choosing instead to give him an extra squeeze.
Izuku inhales sharply, eyes widening, trying his best not to tense under Pa’s touch. It might’ve been too late. He didn’t make it too obvious, did he? A burning pain radiates from his torso, engulfing the whole area with sparks.
This has been recurring since that night, but there’s no running from it now– it hurts. That can’t be it though, not when the fire in his throat becomes too prominent to ignore anymore. It’s not only the cuts but also the fact that his Dad and Pa are right here. They are quite literally within arm’s reach and he still feels guilt encompassing him for taking up their time, for forcing them to have this talk in the first place.
It’s a war in his mind; Izuku just wants to feel safe and secure with them. He used to have no qualms talking about anything and everything in his mind.
He doesn’t want to feel like this anymore.
The treatment he faces at school start taking a toll on Izuku, and he's determined to hide it from has dads. It works until it doesn't.
