Chapter Text
This small store doesn’t have much stock.
They do stock flour.
They have potatoes.
Boniface will have to make something else for Siffrin.
Ah, Boniface also asked for a pineapple.
They do have one!
Seems relatively ripe.
Odile bags a few more ‘necessary’ ingredients and brings them to the counter.
“Anything else?”
The shopkeeper has been remarkably patient with Odile's thorough inspection.
Her curiosity spared only a dusty bookshelf in the middle of the store.
There weren’t any familytales or sadness encyclopaedias among them anyway…
At least according to their owner.
“23 silver coins, is that right?”
“Hm? Ha! No no no, for the saviours my items are on the house!”
“Why thank you.”
“Will have to order more for the winter… a-assuming you win tomorrow, of course! May the Change God protect you on your journey!!!”
“I’m sure they will.”
Odile bundles up one bag after another.
She’s done here for now. Boniface should be somewhere near the field, picking more ripe vegetables-
Her eyes catch… something?
It came from the old dusty bookshelf.
There is something strange, this book wasn’t here before, was it?
“May you tell me what the titleless book is about?”
“Huh? A titleless book?”
Odile takes another step towards the shelf.
The shopkeeper joins her.
Its wrinkled almost rotten counterparts heavily contrast an almost pristine hard cover.
A slight black gradient directs attention towards the middle, but there is nothing written on it.
Not the front, the side or back.
“Since when have you been here…?” They appear to be talking to the book.
It carefully slides out of the cramped mass of paper.
The shopkeeper spins the opened book around.
“Blank? Is it a notebook?”
“Ah, if you'd like,”-They close the book-” I have no plans for it… I didn’t even know it was on my shelf…”
Odile’s arm grabs the soft material. Cool to the touch.
An odd thing. It could prove handy…
… Are the pages glowing?
The bell connected to the door chimes.
Hello, Stardust! You see these texts with arrows next-to them? You can click them!
[You'll see more if you click any text in brackets]
Good job Stardust! Now try it on the one below!
[“Odile!”]
“Oh, Siffrin.”
“You look rested”, she picks the bags off the ground, “Glad to see you this laidback on the day before the end of the world.”
So many bags, Bonnie will be delighted.
“Anyway, how can I help you?”
[“Clocktower, sleepover!!!”]
“A sleepover? Ugh… you guys really are kids.”
You jovially shoot back,
[“We can forget about our problems!”]
“I suppose so.”
Odile crosses her arms, supplies still in hand.
“Nonetheless, I’ll be there. Poor Boniface probably needs it. Maybe we all do.”
Her posture quickly relaxes again.
“But the room only has three beds, right? I better get a whole bed to myself.”
Two Beds left.
[“Mira and Bonnie will probably be sharing…”]
“Mirabelle and Bonnie? So, who’ll sleep on the ground, you or Isabeau?”
You could share the bed, but…
[“Isa, of course.”]
“Poor man.”
She quickly flips the book in her left hand open, closing it just as quickly.
“...Anyway, I'll be there. You know, since we already decided earlier we'd meet at the Clocktower and all.”
You both briefly decent into silence.
“Anything else?”
[“We’re fighting the King tomorrow…”]
“We are. I hope you’re prepared.”
Not like you have much to prepare for.
“The King, and the Sadnesses his destruction creates… They possess Crafts capable of slowing us down, or even freezing us in time completely.”
Maybe there will even be Sadnesses you haven’t seen before.
“So, as always, we’re counting on you and your speed to keep us out of trouble.”
Aw…
[“…So, you want me in the front again?”]
“Leading everyone, if possible. You’ve already proven good at preventing traps and keeping us alive, so I don’t see why that has to change.”
She opens the book again… Fidgeting with it, almost.
“And as always, you can count on me to provide everyone with intel on any enemies we encounter. Everyone except Boniface will be on battle duty… But I might ask Boniface to do something as well.”
She brings the book to her face, tapping it against her cheek.
You don’t remember her having a book like this before… did she buy it here?
“It might be good for everyone to give the kid something to do…”
Odile shifts the bags in her hand.
“…Boring tactics talk, I know. I’ll shut up and bring these items to Boniface so they can prepare something later.”
Ho? Have you found it?!?
[“Is your field of research TACTICS?”]
“Oh gems. Are you still trying to figure out what I’m researching?”
“NO, my field of research ISN’T tactics. Isabeau actually proposed that one last week, late one.”
Aw.
Yeah…
“Give it up already. None of you will ever figure out what I’m studying. It will stay a secret forever.”
[“What will you do after?”]
“After tomorrow, if we survive? I wish I had your confidence.”
She spends a second tapping the blank book against her face.
“… Maybe I’ll just go home to Ka Bue. I haven’t seen my country in many years… Before I met Mirabelle and Isabeau, my main goal was to travel to Vaugarde and see its many different places, sights, cultures.”
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Odile continues, “I’ve already accomplished this by travelling with Mirabelle, so…”
[“Was it all for your research?”]
“… Yes.”
[“Your research into… cultures-ology?”]
“’Cultures-ology’ isn’t a field of research, Siffrin.”
[“But it is the field of research you spent your life trying to create…”]
“Stop inventing a backstory for me. What about you, what will you do? If we beat the King, that is. Will you go back to your own country, maybe?”
You will…
[“Come up with my own field of research.”]
“Urgh.”
[“What’s with that book?”]
“Hm? This empty one?”
You nod. It's not the usual one Odile likes to carry.
“Not a lot. Like I said, it’s empty. It caught my eye sitting among the older books.”
You glance at the bookshelf behind her, most of the titles are not readable. Just touching one might disintegrate them.
“I’m thinking of noting things down for you and Mirabelle, in case you need it.”
Neat!
...
["Book-ology?”]
“No.”
[“Sadness-ology?"]
“Stop it, Siffrin!”
[“Nah, nothing.”]
“Then I’ll get these things to Boniface, see you at the clocktower.”
Odile walks past you, out of the front door.
You follow closely behind her.
The ground is soft.
A slow wind blows.
Before you and your friends stands the house.
And with it, a massive door…
You look up at it.
“The House’s Gate, huh?”, even Isabeau is dwarfed by comparison, “It’s bigger than I thought! So scary!”
“It really is locked shut. I can see space for us to put the Orbs…”
Odile takes out her piece, soon followed by the others.
“This whole adventure… This whole journey…”
Mirabelle seems on edge, everyone else is too.
“After all this time… I can finally open it!”
Bonnie pushes their Orb above their own head.
“I have my Orb right here!”
“Let’s go for it then!”
You do as Isabeau says.
The Orbs fly out of your hands.
All of them slot into their respective sockets. Then they disappear, replaced by the gate roaring open.
You enter.
…
Quiet. The echos of your footsteps bouncing off the walls is the only thing you manage to pick up,
but your eyes know better.
“Oh! Up ahead, that’s…!” Mirabelle spotted it too.
A Sadness!
Odile looks around, making sure everyone is in position.
“A Sadness, huh? The house must be crawling with them…”
Mirabelle is shaking...
“O-okay everyone, let’s, um, uh—”
“Don’t get overwhelmed now!”
Isabeau tries his best to calm her.
“Come on… We’ve seen tons of those already.”
Odile adds too.
“Don’t worry, Belle! We can take care of them no problem!!!”
“O-okay, but…”
Even Bonnie can’t reassure her…
Maybe talking would make her feel better…?
Something to distract her…
Something like…
["Oh my, should we go over strategy again~?"]
“D-Don't tease me Siffrin!!!”
She relaxes her posture.
“But, um, yes. I would like that. So, um, to start with, Siffrin should--”
You approach the Sadness.
“I hate this.”
“Sorry, Bonbon. The Sadnesses in here are too powerful for your tiny little arms!"
Isabeau pats Bonnie on the head, "You can help out sometimes, as long as you make sure to keep your distance. But we know that’s boring, so… That’s why we also made you in charge of snacks!!!
It's a super duper very important job, y'know? The super duper importantest.”
“Don’t patronise the kid.”
Odile comes to Bonnie's defence!
“Yeah, don’t patronise me.”
“Heheheh... “
Mirabelle is a lot calmer now.
You look at her: “All good?”
“All good!!!”
And ready for battle!
“Monster tiiiime!!!”
Isabeau's battle cry heartens you to jump at the Sadness, weapon drawn.
Your friends join the battle!
“Phew... Okay, okay... “
“Don't worry. You focus on healing, big guy over there can hit things… and you, Siffrin, keep the puns and one liners to a minimum, PLEASE.“
Rude.
Rude Odile.
“We should Examine this Sadness first to know what we're up against, so... “
“So it's your job, M'dame!”
“Yes. Please slow down, everyone, and let me attack first for once. When it's my turn, I'll Examine the enemy by using a Craft Skill.”
[Let Odile examine]
“Remnants of the people that were defeated by the King...”
“Their grief and sadness are all that remains.
They cannot tell friend from foe anymore. Defeating them is all we can do...”
Weird that they never attack each other...
“Every Sadness has a different resistance and weakness. Maybe there's a way to figure it out from their appearance... “
“Hmm…”
Bonnie puts their hand against their chin.
“We need to do certain hand signs when we Craft skills... So maybe we should look at their hands?”
Odile looks at Bonnie, her mouth is ajar.
“Very well done, Boniface. So, this Sadness must be… Siffrin? What do you think?”
It’s making the same symbol as you are so…
["Rock type?"]
“Aw, Sif! Even I know that's wrong!“
“Wrong. Try again, Siffrin.”
["Paper type?"]
Odile frowns at you.
“Wrong.”
["Scissors type?"]
“Yeah! It's doing a Scissors sign!”
“Indeed, it is.”
Your teacher continues.
“So, if this enemy is Scissors type, what's the best type of attacks we can use against it, Siffrin?”
You again?
["Scissors attacks?"]
“It’s not.”
Odile crosses her arms.
["Paper attacks?"]
Odile seems disappointed.
“You're not very good at this today, are you?“
“You're so embarrassing, Frin!!!“
Oh no! Bonnie and Isabeay are ganging up at you!
You have to nail this next one.
["Rock attacks?"]
“Yeah! Rock beats Scissors!!!”
“Exactly. Thankfully, even after examining this enemy, it is still my turn.”
Isabeau pumps his fists. “And thankfully, you can use all three types of Craft!!!”
“Yes. I am still Paper type, though, so hopefully it doesn't aim for me… I’ll attack it, now.”
Odile casts 'Rock III'
The Sadness whimpers in pain.
“Yeah!!! Great hit, m’dame Odile!”
“That is all for now. Isabeau? Would you do the honours?
“Only because you asked nicely!”
Isabeau time!
He strikes!
The Sadness deforms and fades.
You breathe in, and out.
“YAHOO!!!”
“We did it…!”
“That was easy, wasn’t it?”
“It was! Just look at your enemy’s hands to find out their type and attack accordingly.”
Mirabelle gives a hesitant smile.
“Going through the house will be a piece of cake!!!”
Even Bonnie is more enthusiastic now.
You grin and take the lead.
Two more sadnesses rear their heads.
You and your friends enter battle!
“Um, um... Could we keep talking about strategies for a bit, maybe?”
[“I’d like a refresher, too!”]
“Y-yes!”
Odile frowns a little. “Well, we have two Sadnesses here-”
“The right one is big…”
“Indeed, Boniface. Its size might indicate that it has more health. So let’s take out the weaker one first. What type is it?”
She skips over the others and looks straight at-
“SIFFRIN.”
Your turn again?!?
Isabeau lets out a short laugh.
The left one is making a ball with its hands so…
[“Scissors type?”]
Odile says nothing.
Isabeau points at his own hand.
[“Paper type?”]
“I’ll give you my notebook later. It would help if you read it.”
Fair.
[“Rock type?”]
“…Correct.”
“Yay Sif, did it Sif!”
Isa encouragement? What an honour!
The Tutorial continues.
“And if it’s Rock type, it is weak to…?”
…
AGAIN?
Stars, you know this.
[“Weak to Rock.”]
Isabeau scratches his head.
“Uhmm…”
Yeah, no that’s wrong.
[Weak to Scissors.”]
“Imagine a rock hitting you, Frin! You wouldn’t like that!”
“I wouldn’t like that either, Boniface. Let Siffrin think.”
[“Weak to Paper.”]
“… hm. Correct again.”
“Siffrin, you’re so talented! You know so many things! Congrats, Siffrin!”
Urgh. Mirabelle’s encouragement cuts like a knife.
“Hehehe…”
Odile cuts in.
“Alright, we went over attacks and types… So, let’s talk about Craft skills.
Compared to normal attacks, Craft skills are more powerful, or may allow us to heal, or buff ourselves up.”
And your attack gauge fills slower compared to normal attacks…
Taking a crash course helped a bit.
“Enemies won’t be shy about using Craft skills, so we shouldn’t either.
But using one Craft skill means it’ll go into Cooldown. After using one, we won’t be able to execute the same skill for a few turns.”
“I-it’s usually fine, but it might be dangerous with healing skills! I’ll try to make sure to use my healing skills carefully, so I don’t run out at a dangerous moment…”
Oh, Mirabelle is looking anxious again…
“But even if it happens, there’s items to recharge our cooled down skills, and there might even be skills and equipment out there to help out!”
The ever-comforting Isabeau, you’re lucky to have him.
“That is true. In the meantime, let’s attack, shall we? Feel free to try things out.”
Siffrin time!
You cast ‘Make Up The Time’
You and your friends get FASTER!
Mirabelle time!
She casts ‘Artsy Silent Burst’ on the left Sadness.
It whimpers in pain.
Isabeau time!
He casts ‘COME ON!!!’
You and your friends feel TOUGHER!
Odile time!
She casts 'Paper III'
The left Sadness deforms and fades.
You hear a rapier blade impact the ground to. “One down!”
One to go.
“What type does this Sadness have?”
Isabeau giggles under his breath.
“Let’s see… Do you know this…?”
“ISABEAU?”
“HUH?!? ME?!?”
Finally, she gives you a break.
You smirk at Isa.
“Well. Um, it’s Paper type, M’dame. And so, it means it’s weak to Scissors. Sif’s type!”
“And Mirabelle’s.” Odile adds.
“A-and Mirabelle’s, of course.”
“And I have Scissors Skills at my disposal, as well.”
“Yes, M’dame, I know that.”
“Uh huh.” An unusual grin forms on her face.
“Since it’s weak to Scissors, I think you should use Scissors attacks a bunch.”
“Great idea, Boniface. I’ll tolerate your puns for a moment if it’s to kill this Sadness, understand Siffrin?”
Your time to shine!
You cast ‘Knife To Meet You’
The sadness growls.
Mirabelle time!
She casts ‘Jolly Round Rondo’
The sadness groans.
Isabeau time!
“Feels like you guys are on a roll with those Scissors attacks. I don’t have any Scissors attacks… So how about I give my turn away to someone who does?”
Might be best to give it to Mira, since she just went.
“Which is, like we’ve established earlier, literally everyone but me, I guess.”
“Ha, that’s what you get for being Rock type!”
“Hey everyone, I’m being bullied by a preteen? Please advise?”
“You’ll get over it. But great idea, Isabeau. Use that skill of yours to give your turn away, we’ll do more damage, or you can guard if you want.”
“My cool ‘YOUR TURN!!!” Craft Skill!!!”
“I’m not saying that.”
Isabeau gives his turn to Mirabelle!
She attacks!
The Sadness wails.
“Okay, so next, let’s—”
“WUH OH!!! M’DAME ODILE!!!”
“Ah—”
The Sadness attacks Odile!!!
Isabeau gets in front of her—
“ISABEAU!!!”
“Owie… I’ll see you all… In a minute…”
Isabeau is K.O.!!!
“Ah, ah—”
Mira is on edge.
“Are you okay?”
“Oh, yeah, I’m fine. Don’t you need someone to be K.O.’d for your tutorial anyway?”
“… Very true. Let’s keep this tutorial going then. Thanks for playing along.”
“No problem! I’ll stay right here then…”
“Stop talking! You’re K.O., and K.O.’d people can’t talk, dummy!!!”
“Okay…”
Bonnie is brutal on Isabeau today.
Mira is still looking at him ...
“Hm… Is it really okay…?”
“Anyway! when someone’s Health Points, or HP, goes down to 0, they’ll be out cold, and won’t be able to fight anymore. There are multiple ways to wake him up, like using a Crafted Water, or if Mirabelle knew a Craft Skill to revive him.”
“Could we…” You could revive Isa.
“The Sadness looks weak enough to kill next move and then we can heal Isabeau up after. But let’s use a Crafted Water for once.”
“YEAAAH!”
Odile has Bonnie revive Isa.
“Ahhh! Thanks Bonbon! Although the floor was nice and refreshing, wouldn’t have minded sleeping a bit longer.”
“That’s sad.”
“It is, but you’re not supposed to say it aloud, Boniface.”
“Hey?”
Now Odile is joining the bullying, poor Isa.
Siffrin time!
You cast ‘Too Cleaver by Half’
The Sadness whimpers in pain.
“AW!!! We almost got it!!!”
“It’s very weak… A slightly stronger blow would’ve done it!”
Mira isn’t implying you’re weak, is she?
“Well, if it’s weak… Wanna deal the final blow, Bonnie?”
“CAN I?!???”
“It IS pretty weak, so… Sure. Knock yourself out.”
Even with Odile’s go-ahead, you follow Bonnie’s path just in case.
Bonnie strikes!
The Sadness deforms and fades.
“YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!”
You back away and start clapping together with the others.
“Great job, Bonbon!” Isa encouragement!
“You did good.” Odile ‘encouragement’.
“What would we have done without you!” Mira encouragement!
“HMF!!!!!!!!”
You breathe in, and out.
Bonnie finished the Tutorial!
Even Odile is showing pride.
“A great end to this little refresher. Do you feel more confident, Mirabelle?”
“Y-Yes! Thank you very much!!!”
And you have got everything too!
Last thing to do is:
[Move on]
You enter a large room, there is a door ahead to your left and to your right.
[Go to the door ahead]
The door waits to be opened, but Isabeau cuts you off.
“Alri— YOWCHIE!!!”
“Did you just—”
“No…”
“—RUN INTO THE DOOR???”
“NO, I DIDN’T!!!! YOU IMAGINED IT!!!!”
Bonnie obviously doesn’t believe him, they’re doing an awful job at hiding their laughter.
Mira attempts to save Isabeau from more embarrassment.
“Oh no… I didn’t think it’d be locked…”
“The King’s scared of us, right? He has to be, since he’s putting locked doors in our way!!!”
Save successful!
“Hopefully the key won’t be hard to find… Let’s take a look around.”
Honouring Odile's request, you take a look at the symbol over the keyhole.
It looks like a circle, inside a circle, inside a circle…
That’s what you’re looking for then!
[Go to the room on the left]
Isa’s eyes grow large. “A storage room! Let’s look around!”
“I see a few tonics on those tables… Make sure to pick them up and give them to Boniface before we leave.”
Isabeau adding to Odile's suggestion: “Check that closet too, there might be some cool stuff in there!”
A small set of glass containers.
You skim through them to find a SUPER SOUR TONIC!
But quickly after picking it up, Bonnie steals it from you.
“… Dile said I’m on tonics duty.”
“T-Tonics are good to keep your HP up so you don’t get knocked out in battle! They’re very sour… But the sourness is sure to make you more awake and ready for anything!”
Kind of odd that it can save you from death…
Ah well.
Next table.
You find a CRAFTED WATER!
But as you try to put it away, it disappears from your hand.
"...Dile also said I'm on water duty."
Not like you can take it away from them now.
"Um, this is a Crafted Water! If someone gets Knocked Out during battle... Just a drop is enough to wake them right up!"
Bonnie raises their hand.
"Someone at school told me it was just coconut water!"
Isabeau winks. With a jovial grin.
"Tastes like it too!"
"Wait... is it?"
Mira falls back into her mind palace.
Well, you have more things to check.
Like these smaller vials.
You find one of each, GINGER JUICE, PEPPER JUICE and THYME JUICE!
You look at Bonnie...
They're looking at you too...
You give all the spices to Bonnie.
"Heh, you learn fast, Frin."
Doesn't look like there are any more consumables in here.
"Be careful with those items, Boniface. Guard them well.
Be ready to throw those at us if we need them during battle. It's probably safer than making all of us carry some..."
"But Sif found those! You don't trust Sif to keep our items safe?"
Isa defence? How nice!
"The person who a few weeks ago mixed up all the items we had to make a so-called 'Super Potion'?
No. I don't trust Siffrin with items."
Isabeau laughs.
You cutely bat your eyes :3
"Still, that's a lot of spices you find there..."
Bonnie cuts Isabeau off. "Oh, oh, I know this one!
"Pepper raises your ATTACK, ginger raises your DEFENCE, and thyme makes you faster!"
Proud to have educated everyone, they continue:
"Because spicy stuff makes people angry, ginger makes you not sick and thyme... Well I don't actually know thyme makes you faster."
Mirabelle adds "Me neither..."
A light giggle escapes your mouth.
Everyone exits the storage room.
[You enter the door on the right]
There’s a sparkling thing on the floor…
It’s a key! The key for the door? Only one way to find out!
You pick it up.
The keychain dangling from it has a design of a circle within a circle within a circle.
A Circle key!
Does it mean something?
["What’s up with the circles?"]
Mirabelle looks at you. “The design on the keychain, you mean? It's one of the symbols of the House of Change belief! It's to show that we are all part of something bigger! The first circle is inside the bigger circle, which is also inside a bigger circle!”
Isabeau jumps into your side view.
“It's also part of a Housemaiden's uniform!”
“Like Belle's brooch!”
Bonnie points at her clothes.
“Yes! This is how I decided to wear it, but you can wear it however you want- as a necklace, a design on your clothes... Or not at all! Breaking traditions is also part of the Change belief!”
“And the teardrops on your brooch?”
Odile looks at the things that go ‘ding ding’.
“Pretty. Goes ‘ding ding’ when I walk.”
“Don't you love it when things go ‘ding ding’ when you walk...”
Odile smirks at Isa.
“Sure do.”
[Get to the straight ahead door]
Key time.
You insert the key into the keyhole.
Isabeau cuts in to open the door properly.
“Alright! Let’s goooo!!!”
Ahead lies a room with six pillars, a few of them are broken.
“WAIT!!!” Mira’s unprompted yelling startles everyone.
“Gwah!!! What? What is it?!?”
Especially Bonnie.
“Sorry for screaming, sorry, sorry! Um, I, um… I… don’t know if this is relevant, but… I, um… I recognise this corridor.”
“… Oh?”
Odile raises an eyebrow.
“I recognise it… The Head Housemaiden of this House used to warn us about it… I think.. I think she called it the ‘Death Corridor’!!!”
“Oh, that sounds bad!”
Captain Isabeau obvious strikes again...
Captain Isa-abvious hehe.
“So, so, um—”
“The House is supposed to be a safe building, but with the King here, some traps might be activated… Is this what you mean?”
Traps? Odile said Traps!
[“A job for me, then.”]
“It IS your job.”
“Protect us, trap master!”
Siffrin, the trap master! Isabeau is great at giving titles.
Odile is less encouraging…
Well, time to look around…
All to reassure Mirabelle.
Your friends bunch up at the entrance while you do your thing.
Bottom left pillar.
Nothing there.
“…” Mirabelle keeps close track of you.
Middle left pillar.
Nothing there.
“… Nothing?”
You check in with Isa.
“Go Siffrin, go Siffrin, go!!!! Not to tell you how to do your job, but make sure to check everything!... Which is just those six pillars, I guess.”
Top left pillar.
This one is broken, you look around, trying to find something, anything…
“Did you find something?!”
You did!
A whole lot of nothing.
You check in with Mirabelle.
“Please… be careful…”
Bottom right pillar.
Nothing there.
“…”
You check in with Odile.
She has that empty book open and is writing in it with her pen.
“I’m resting my legs while you look around. Have fun.”
Middle right pillar.
This one is broken as well.
Has to be something here, right?
There is not.
You check in with Bonnie.
They are staring intently at the wall…
[“Found anything interesting?”]
“… Negative.”
You hear a rare Odile giggle from your left.
“Keep looking kiddo, I’m sure you’ll find something.”
“I might! You don’t know!”
Pillar!
Top right.
Nothing there.
“…Nothing?”
No switches or traps, so…
“So? So??? Are we safe We’re not safe, are we, this is the Death Corridor…”
Mirabelle jumps in place.
“The older Housemaidens kept saying people died there!!! So there must be a trap—Something weight-sensitive, or something! Or, or!!! Maybe it’s time-sensitive! If we spend too long here…!”
Oh, come on now.
[“There is nothing weird in here.”]
“But there must be!!!”
“Aw, Mira…”
“Belle, Belle, don’t worry about it. Frin isn’t good at many things, but they know stuff about traps.”
Hey…
“Right. If we can’t trust the one who’s supposed to lead us THIS early, this won’t bode well for later…”
HEY… They’re ganging up on you again!
“But, but—”
You take a step deeper into the hallway.
[“We’re not dead yet, are we?”]
“…Well, that’s true…”
“We HAVE been in this room for a while… and Siffrin has been walking everywhere, so if it was weight-sensitive, something would have killed him by now.”
You throw a stare at Odile.
Isabeau pats Mirabelle on the shoulder.
“Exactly! It’s all fine!”
“Oh…”
Mirabelle finally relaxes a little.
“…Yeah! Yeah, okay! I’ll believe you! Sorry… for worrying… I’m a little on edge…”
[“We’re good, Mira.”]
You turn around to your allies.
[“See? Everything is fine.”]
You look her in the eyes.
Everyone else is looking at Mirabelle, too. Trying to reassure her.
She looks to the side, avoiding everyone’s gaze.
There’s small click, and-
