Chapter Text

Chapter 1
The snow slowly falling down as the moon glowed, the wind quiet but making a small whistle. The trees slowly swayed as the sound of snow crunching on the ground. A family no bigger than four walking to their camp site. The two girls giggling and running ahead throwing piles of snow at each other. The two parents, smiling as they held hands.

As they got to the camp site the wind had died down only hearing the wildlife, and the soft sounds of other families and couples voices from afar. The two kids sat down on the ground crossed legged.

“Daddy?” of of the girls spoke, her black hair moving from her body swaying slowly. “Im bored…” she said again with her red eyes looking at her two dads. One smiles as he kneeled down to her. “It's only 5:56” he said, giving her a head pat.

The little girl groaned as she moved his hand away, as the dad chuckled. The other girl was staring, her white hair covering most of her eyes, her cold but yet kind eyes.

They were both 8 but both very short compared to the others 8 year olds, despite that they seemed to not mind. And even the odd parents of having two dads making them a bit popular from the other kids. They have been waiting for this trip for ages. The girl in white hair known as Poka was more excited despite the lack of emotion. She did a lot of research about this mountain.

Known as Mount Ebott, a mountain known for its large hole in the ground. People wonder, and talk about it online wondering what's below. Very few people have tried to jump down but when they do, they never respond or come back alive

People have said that people have died by the fall…but others say they are alive.

The two girls played as the two dads whispered at each other. “Im not sure we should have went…” one said as the other dad sighed at him.

“We already talked about this…they waited forever for this trip…” he said as he patted himself. “Steve…it's only a week..” “a week of a chance of them falling into that ho-”

“Dont say that!” the dad said, hitting Steve lightly. Steve frowned as he looked at him, his eyes sad. “Sorry, it's just the fear of losing them….”

“Rick…let's not keep too far from us..” Steve spoke as Rick nodded, as they looked at the two children as they played with the snow.
As the sun was setting the family sat at a fire, the cracking of the wood was heard quietly, as Ink started to grab marshmallows her black hair touched the ground covering some of her face. She was too lazy to get up for the stick. Poka spotted her and handed her a sick marshmallow. “Dad…daddy..” Poka spoke softly, her voice lacking emotion, her arms in a t-rex stance. Steve looked up and Rick hummed as Poka walked to them.

“I'm tired…but I wanna go for a walk..” she said slowly. The parents looked at each other worried but looked at Ink and Poka.
“If one of us joins you then sure.. Just don't leave us. Ok” Poka nodded as Ink sighed.

The night has fallen as the sound crickets and once in a while an owl. Poka held onto her dads hands as Ink walked mostly on the grass path. Poka kept looking ahead. Ink was bored, her eyes kept looking at the trees and the Bird that flew over.
‘The wind makes me cold.. Why did Poka want this walk’ I thought as I looked back at my sister. Her hair covered her face so I was unable to see what she was thinking or where she was looking. I looked back bored as I heard quick steps behind me. I glance back to see poka next to me.

“Ink..” she said, her voice quiet but yet loud. I smiled at her. As she grabbed my hand. “What?” I spoke after a bit, she shrugged as she walked a bit faster. “I know where the hole is..want to see it when we get back to the camp..?” she whispered to me. I looked away thinking if I should. I heard our dad talk about how they didn’t want us to fall in..not sure what they mean it was probably just a rumer. I nodded expecting not a lot. As she smiled.

The night was a lot quieter than I'm used to. Making it hard for me to sleep. I felt someone shaking me as I opened my tired eyes. My vision was blurry as heard a whisper.

“Ink.. Ink wake up.. It’s time to go.” Poka said softly as she shaked me. I got up tiredly as I looked at her. Looks like she didn't sleep. Probably too excited.

We grabbed some snacks and a backpack and some rope as we got out of our camper as quietly as we could.
It felt like forever the cold was killing me. I shivered as poka looked like she was not cold at all. I frowned as I held her hand for some sort of warmth.

“How long do we have…?” I said as she shrugged. I felt a bit angry if we couldn't find the hole then we walked all this way for nothing.
After a couple of minutes Poka stopped as she looked around a small flashlight showing ahead of us. I looked at her face still showing nothing, I wondered what went through her mind.

“It's supposed to be around her..” she whispered as she walked ahead slowly. I looked around as well, since I didn't have a flashlight it was very hard to see. As I walked I felt even more tired. But right as I took one more step I fell forward. I screamed as I tried to grab a vine, luckily I did as I felt fearful. I heard Poka running to me, and she grabbed my hand and did her best to get me out but she couldn’t. I can tell she was struggling. I grabbed the end of the hold trying to pull up.

“Sister don’t let go…hang on!!” She yelled for the first time I saw her face being fearful showing emotions that barely see her tears hitting my face.
It felt like forever my hands were getting more and more sweaty, I tried to pull up again but as I did the ground broke and unluckily Poka foot was under that area. The ground cracked as her eyes widened, “Poka!” I yelled as dirt and snow hit my face.
She fell as she tried to grab onto anything. But she couldn’t grab onto anything, she screamed as I grabbed onto her sweater. Hoping that she could protect me. She hugged me as the cold wind hit us like a truck.

The wind that was hitting us felt so painful it felt like I was falling forever.

Pain was coming, I knew it. But I felt calm, daddy said that I was going to be a good teacher one day…but now…I’m tired.
We were both tired…but she was on top of me…I saw red liquid coming out of me. My sister passed out on me with her body in blood. Probably mine…My breathing was shallow. I couldn’t breathe, I knew my sister crushed me. But she looks alive…just bloody…ya..
“P..Poka….keep…me…alive….” I whispered…tears falling…I felt tired ... .I miss my daddy and dad…Poka it’s ok….stay awake…for me…goodnight.
