Chapter Text
Today was the first day of the new school year. As well was Kiyotaka Ishimaru’s birthday but he frankly didn’t care his education was much more important than a celebration (even though his father might disagree). Kiyotaka had gotten into Hope's Peak High as the Ultimate Moral Compass. A title that shouldn't exist but yet it did and it was his to wear with pride. Kiyotaka had worked hard to earn his title unlike most of his classmates. Kiyotaka had done excessive, and a little bit creepy, research on his new classmates. Seemingly every one of his classmates got in by pure talent and talent alone. Kiyotaka stuck out like a sore thumb. Kiyotaka occasionally thought they only selected him to keep the grade average to at least a B.
Those were the thoughts that played in Kiyotaka’s head as he stood in front of those large brass gates that blocked him from his new future. A future surrounded by geniuses. Kiyotaka was nervous, to say the least. What if they knew? What if it’s just like middle school all over again? What if?.. What if scenarios began running through his head. Kiyotaka took a deep breath and walked through the brass gates of his future and walked into the main hall. The main hall was completely empty. Kiyotaka had arrived severely early, due to his nervousness, so he could unpack into his dorm first thing so he wouldn't have to carry his bags. It was already difficult to walk, let alone walk with a hefty duffel bag on his shoulders, completely throwing him off balance. Although currently Kiyotaka was frozen due to his nerves. Kiyotaka was never easily nervous, except for a pop quiz, but this completely ruined his nerves. Kiyotaka had never gone to such a prestigious school. His old school, Kaiseidan High School, was pretty fancy but not too fancy, while Hope's peak was just perfect with its in-school living environment, massive library and archive, and numerous after-school activities. It was the perfect place to learn. Kiyotaka shook his head from his thoughts and began bringing his bag to his dorm following a map. This school was massive with five floors, two gyms, three huge labs, a bunch of soundproof dormitories, and personalized “ultimate talent” labs for every student, and much much more.
As Kiyotaka arrived at his door, his legs were already tired, and his hips were already hurting from all the walking. Kiyotaka opened the door, sat down his duffel bag, and plopped down on the bed, nearly falling on it. Kiyotaka needed to rest if he was to walk around all day or he would collapse in front of his entire class. He could unpack later. Kiyotaka rubbed at the warm skin on his hips through his white uniform pants trying to soothe the aching pelvis of his, it didn’t really help much but he was feeling a little better. Kiyotaka was physically disabled from an incident in middle school so it sucked that he had to walk all the time even if he was in pain. He had been considering getting mobility aids but those were so expensive and Kiyotaka’s family didn’t have the money but that was okay he could get by without.
Kiyotaka checked his watch, it was seven o’clock. If he didn't leave his dorm now he would be late for orientation but he hurt so badly he probably couldn’t walk for very long if he did go to orientation. He could probably get a wheelchair from the nurse, but that would be embarrassing, or he could just take pain medication and hope it goes away. Kiyotaka got up from his bed, grabbed his ibuprofen from his bag and took some to soothe the pain for at least a little while, or at least until the orientation was over. His pain was a necessary sacrifice for his reputation. Kiyotaka headed back to the main hall in hopes of meeting other students .. but when he arrived there was nobody except for a man with a pompadour and a black biker gang jacket and a demon sigil belt and black athletic pants. Kiyotaka instantly recognized him as the leader of The Crazy Diamonds, the biggest biker gang of Japan, Mondo Owada from his fathers police work. Kiyotaka looked upon the taller man in disgust. Mondo was like his father’s sworn enemy so he was also Kiyotaka’s enemy. The taller man frankly didn’t care that Kiyotaka did not like him ,he didn’t even look at Kiyotaka. Kiyotaka looked around for a seat as his hips still hurt, but didn’t see one. Kiyotaka would have to stand for the time being, hopefully not long of a time….
