Summary:

As Jinwoo endeavored to integrate Beru into his shadow army, he was suddenly engulfed by an abyss of darkness. What is this strange place, brimming with chairs? Why are there so many people here? And why, of all things, is his life story being displayed like some sort of film? What in the world is happening?

Chapter 1: Pre

Chapter Text

The feeling of exhilaration coursed through all to his veins as Jinwoo watched Beru easily massacre the monster left and right, while Iron literally threw the monsters somewhere Jinwoo didn’t even want to question. At this point, between Beru and Iron, the one who was more brutal was Beru, with his shrieks followed by randomly splitting heads from bodies... Yeah.

Jinwoo still felt extremely pleased with the efficiency that his new commander showed him. Though there was one thing that made the owner of the Shadow Soldiers try hard not to throw the newly appointed commander into the nearest sea–

[“My Liege—”]

Even before Beru was able to say anything, Jinwoo already pinched that Beru’s fang. He didn’t want to hear any historical line coming from Beru. He was sure he had prohibited Beru from watching historical dramas. Maybe Jinah and his mother took pity on the big ant and let it watch with them. Whichever one of those, he was going to pinch Jinah because his sister was the cause of all his Shadow Soldiers' misbehavior.

His sister was a bad influence.

Moving further from that, Jinwoo had been feeling off since taking this sudden gate appearing on the road.

It might just be him being paranoid—

Jinwoo didn’t even have the time to react properly as the strange darkness engulfed him before he appeared in an unfamiliar place filled with chairs. It takes a solid second for him to check his Shadow Soldiers and send them to every corner of the place.

‘A gate inside a gate?’ Jinwoo calmly assessed .  He was so sure he had destroyed the gate.He wasn’t even surprised knowing he had experienced a double gate with that crazed stone as the center of it all. A dagger appeared in his hand. He walked around silently.

Well, unexpected things did happen.

“Oppa!”

Jinwoo had to turn his body 180⁰ just in time to catch his sister jumping on him. “Jinah, you’re not a child” He flatly says. He saw his mother quickly running toward him. Her face, once worried, turned relieved as she saw him.

“I’m afraid! I’m scared~” While it seemed Jinah was making it up, the girl did feel a sense of dread when she couldn’t find her brother, knowing that she and their mother were defenseless. He did placed a few of his Shadow Soldiers on their shadow…

“Easy, everything will be fine, ” the Candidate of the Shadow Monarch reassured, gently putting his sister down. His gaze landed on the people appearing one after another. From people he recognizes  to those who only appeared on TV. From South Korea to across the world.

‘This will bring trouble’

“Hyung!”

Jinwoo’s attention shifted to Jinho, wwho was practically running toward them, waving his hand, with his cousin following behind. Clearly, his vice-guildmaster lacked some self-awareness.

“Hunter Sung Jin-woo-nim” he President of the South Korea Hunter Association greeted him, following from behind is his secretary.

“Sir, it seems only the two of us from the association are here,” Wo Jin-Chul stated as he recognized some of the people from the east of where they stood.

“I see, it’s fine,” Go Gun-Hee said, looking back at the young man, who exuded power. “We’ll try to protect your family as promised.”

“No need, president. I alone can protect them” Jinwoo replied. The shadows below him stirred restlessly, reflecting his internal emotions.

The association president chuckled before moving in with integrity, alongside Wo Jin-Chul, into Jinwoo’s circle.

The calm atmosphere gradually changed into a shouting match. With everyone's attention on scattered and the titular fighting happening sooner than expected, the brightness of light caught everyone off guard.

Igris appears from the depth of Jinwoo’s shadow, shielding his liege and his liege family from the sudden light, which he assumed was an attack. Beru shrieked at the person standing on the podium.

“Such a mess,” a boy with a hat covering his face muttered, seeing the chaos in front of him before issuing his next command. “I’ll lift the ban for the Shadow Soldiers to be able to communicate with their liege.” With a flick of his finger, a golden resonance spread around the room.

‘How in the worlddoes he know about Shadow Soldiers—’

“I had my ways”

Jinwoo glared at the boy before his attention being dragged to Igris, who knelt in front of him then spoke.

Yep, spoke .

[“My liege, at last, we are able to convey our greatest gratitude under your watchful gaze”] Igris’s voice was deep, and Jinwoo could hear Jinah’s amazement. Knowing his sister, she probably thought it was some kind of romance novel moment.

[“ORRRYYYYAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!”] Everyone near Iron immediately dispersed and covered their ears. Even those furthest from them were already raising their weapons.

“Hunter-nim—” Before Wo Jin-Chul could ask if the Shadow Soldier was alright, said particular shadow was silenced by his companion.

[“Silence!”] Igris slapped Iron’s mouth with his sword. [“You insolent mongrel! This is a blasphemy to our Liege! How dare your taint our Liege image!”] while saying that, Beru strangles the shadow knight. Tusk seemed to try to calm the two leaders, while Tank obediently allowed Jinah to pat him. The rest of the soldiers were confused.

As for Jinwoo, he wisely ignored them. Nope. He wanted to return them to the shadows, but his skill was somehow unable to do that.  He was sure excited that he could communicate with the other shadow soldier, Shadow Soldiers, besides Beru, but between protecting his mentality and dealing with the chaotic Shadow Soldiers seeking his attention, Jinwoo chose to understand them arbitrarily rather than listening to their full-blown shouts, like what was happening behind him.

Jinwoo really wanted to return them.

“They had every right to stay here, as they helped you in your conquest subjugating monarchs”

“Conquering Monarchs?” Jinah held tightly to her brother's shirt. Whatever that name was, it sounded dangerous. As the only daughter in the Sung family, Jinah knew very well that her brother would be at the center of this.

“Please choose your seats, as all of you will watch how a man achieves the impossible” the boy observed as people hesitantly sat down.

“So we will watch it like a movie? How about the outside–”

“Time stops outside” the boy gave a critical look to David Brennon, USA hunter association.

“When we will we get out of here?” Han Song-Yi came closer to Jinah, practically hugging her friend when Jinwoo seemed deeply lost in thought.. Her friend mother beside her.

“After you finish watching the episodes or movie, whatever you call” the boy replied.

“My powers I can’t sense them!” Thomas Andre called out to the boy on the podium.

“I seal them,” the boy sighed at the continuous question. “And no fighting, please or you bear the consequence” An ominous silence blanketed the cinema-like room.

“No more questions? Please enjoy”

Patience okay?
