You leaned back in the seat, your head turned in Vox’s direction. Your gaze scanned his screen as you tried to gather your thoughts. This was not how you expected things to go when offered the position with Vox. And yet, there was something so inviting about it. You couldn’t deny the pull you felt towards the man. And now that you got a taste of what it could be like, you didn’t know if you could back out even if you wanted to.
“This doesn’t mean that I trust you.” You finally spoke. Vox’s mouth glitched into a smile. The grin was almost knowing.
“I’d be disappointed if you did.”
