Written by Andre Valias, Edited by Talviel, Cover by Andre Valias
In 2E 552, an Argonian hatchling is taken by Dres slavers from his village before he can be named by his tribe. Stolen away into the night, the slavers give him a name on account of his bloody face for which nobody will buy him. After unsuccessful attempts to offload him and other cargo, the slavers sell the hatchlings to the Blademaster of the Imperial City Arena.
For the next decade, the hatchling with the bloody face grows up a slave living amongst bloodshed and violence. But a fateful encounter puts him and his love under the martial tutelage of a crowd favourite in the arena, and as time goes by: the Argonian’s dreams of fighting for freedom, for both him and his love, feel more a reality.
A tale set in the world of The Elder Scrolls, this Argonian tells his story to a scholar interviewing him one evening at the Eight Blessings in Kvatch; and the retelling of his bloodied origins are rife with joys and losses, anger and sorrow, and faith and heartbreak.
