Chapter Text

San Fransokyo Prison, Thursday, December 1st, 2033, 5:03am

Cobra had a nightmare a while ago, so Sirque offered to share the bed with her for the night. Cobra felt safe as she slept, knowing she wasn’t alone. *BOOM*

Cobra yelps as she and Sirque sit up.

“Que se passe-t-il?! (What’s going on?!)” Sirque worries.

“I don’t know!” Cobra exclaims, trying to see where the noise came from. The wall then breaks open, scaring the two, clouds of dust fogging the air and prompting Cobra to hold her friend close to protect her.

“I can’t see anything!” Cobra complains. “It’s too much debris dust.”

Then, two glowing dots open in the fog, glowing blue. While another pair of dots appears, glowing green. Sirque and Cobra are now scared.

“You see it too right?” Cobra asks, hoping she was being paranoid.

“OUI.” Sirque yelps, horrified that they were both seeing it. Then, a three fingered robot claw comes through the dust cloud, grabbing onto the bar, scaring the two even more. Cobra and Sirque examined the claw, it was dark gray and black joints. The claws were long, thin, and similar to triangles that were stretched digitally to appear taller.

“Do you want to join us?” A male voice booms from the dust cloud, prompting Sirque and Cobra to look at the blue dots.

“For what?” Sirque asks.

“More or less, taking over the city, well I hope that’s all I have to do.” The voice shrugs. The voice was somewhat muffled and sounded like the person spoke through a walkie talkie, distorting the voice enough to make it non-recognizable.

Cobra scowls at the man. “We don’t want to.”

“Are you sure?” A female voice asks, coming from the direction of the green dots. Her voice was unfiltered, Cobra and Sirque could hear her neutral accent, slight nasal, annoyance, and middle-aged tones of the woman.

“Yes.” Sirque says confidently. “We want to reform, have normal lives. We don’t want to risk losing it because you.”

The blue dots disappear. “I see. Well, alright. Ock, let’s go.” The man says casually. “We have enough recruits and Big Hero 6 could show up any minute.”

“Yes sir.” The woman says before the green dots slowly turn out of view, like eyes on a head. Sirque yelps as the claw lets go of the bar and returns to the dust cloud. Cobra runs up to the bars.

“GUARDS!” Cobra yells. “SATO, FLYNN, CRUZ! WE HAVE TO REPORT AN ATTEMPTED BREAKOUT!”

Sirque and Cobra were not expecting to be offered a break out early in the morning, neither did they expect to now be anxious about the mystery duo that offered them tainted freedom.

Victoria and Trina’s room, 6:34am

Victoria snores as she enjoys her peaceful sleep. *ring* She slowly wakes up in annoyance, grabbing her phone and answering, too groggy to check caller ID.

“Moshi moshi?” She slurs.

“Vic, it’s Grace. Check the news on your phone.” Grace says in a panic, waking Victoria up a bit.

“Alright.” She mutters as she sluggishly opens the news broadcast on her phone.

“Breaking news!” Bluff Dunder says, with worry on his face. “A mysterious duo has broken out most of San Fransokyo’s most wanted, with exceptions being El Fuego, Supersonic Sue and Stu, Di and Chris for obvious reasons, and, due to them refusing to join, Sirque and Cobra, who gave the police more details on the breakout. Here is the most detailed security image the police managed to get.” A dust cloud with 2 blue glowing dots and 2 glowing green dots were peeking through, with a robot claw sticking out.

Victoria was awake now, worried for her family’s safety.

“Stay tuned for more updates.” Bluff warmly says. “And whoever did this, Big Hero 6 will stop you.” He says with grave hope. The broadcast then cuts out. Victoria places her phone down, sulking. Grace walks in and sits by Victoria.

“I was mostly paralyzed in shock, so I couldn’t come tell you in person.” Grace says calmly. “How are you feeling?”

“…At least Sirque and Cobra didn’t throw away their chance.” Victoria shrugs, her tone suggesting grace worry. “That’s the only good thing I’ve heard so far. Bluff was worried, and he rarely drops his casual announcer tone.”

Grace side hugs her friend. “Don’t worry, Hiro and the others will get them.

“I hope.” Victoria says, very worried about her friends and her daughter. “But who broke them out?”

Hideout, 7am

The villains chatted amongst one another in a dark, somewhat smelly basement as they waited for their “recruiter”. However-

“I get our recruiter wants secrecy, but why the DARKNESS?!” Steamer complains.

“Yeah, it already smells like Krei’s mom’s basement, so why hide the fact we’re probaly in this guy’s mother’s basement?” Hardlight complains. “We won’t judge him on that.”

“I dunno.” Trivia Trickster says. “Hopefully she turns the lights back on soon. I wanna make sure I didn’t step in anything.”

“Boss, should I call the guy?” Remy asks. “We’re still in our jumpsuits.”

A spotlight then turns on at the front of the room, beaming on a woman. She was wearing a lab coat over dark green padded black clothing with black boots and gloves. She had dark brown hair kept in a big bun and medium eyes covered by glowing green hexagon shaped goggles. She was around 5’8 with fair skin, and some scarring around her eyes.

“My boss is watching via camera in my goggles.” She says calmly. “I will now explain why you are here. You lot have been chosen to aid my boss in taking over the city, which will lead to managing multiple outlets around the world. Your job, is to ensure the heroes don’t pose much of a threat, merely incapacitating them, then we’ll remove their masks when the time comes. You guys will be free and can have fun over the city. Are you in?”

The villains look at each other, smile, then back at the woman.

“We’re in.” Steamer grins. “What do we call you?”

The woman chuckles as four robot tentacles come out of her back, the two bottom ones holding her 2 feet in the air. “Please, call me Dr. Octopus.” She smiles. “And you’ll meet my employer soon enough.”

Home, 12:23pm

Victoria hugged her daughter tightly, wanting to keep her safe in case whoever broke the criminals out was, unlike Sirque, a NUTCASE.

“Mom, I know you’re worried, but I have metal skin.” Trina tries calming her mom down. “Also extra stress is bad for you.”

Victoria untightens the hug, now just gently holding her. “I know, but Grace is at work so I can’t hold her, and you’re my daughter.” Victoria says, her grief not hiding her affection. “I won’t let the nutcase mastermind hurt you or my family.”

Trina slight smiles. “I know, and I will always love that you do that. But Big Hero 6 will stop them. They’ve learned from last time and will stop the blue-eyed weirdo from going too far.”

Victoria closes her eyes as she hugs her daughter. “I hope.”

Big Hero 6 HQ, 1pm

*pop* “And you’re sure no one’s seen anything?” Go Go asks Hiro.

“Afraid not.” Hiro laments through Basemax’s screen. “Me and Chem Girl have been checking security cameras around the city while the others use word of mouth.”

“I’ll keep you updated.” Go Go says, before hanging up and sulking against the desk. Last time, they were caught off guard. Last time there was a breakout, El Fuego outsmarted Big Hero 6 and used electromagnets to incapacitate them in their ultra armor. Momak- Victoria and Granville barely defeated them, and now some mystery duo had broken out a few criminals, maybe that’s all they needed.

Go Go sighs. “Where could they be?” The only place they could’ve gone is the sewers, and the city was already searching for clues.

Home, 2:28pm

*ding dong* Trina rushes to the door, excited for their visitors. When she opens the door, she gleams at seeing Megan, Juniper, and Olivia; her friends.

“I’m glad you could make it.” Trina says as she ushers them in and closes the door, now leading them to the living room as they looked around.

“Nice house.” Megan says.

“Thanks.” Trina smiles as they sit on the couch. “It’s my Aunt Grace’s. We keep it neat and tidy.”

“Wow.” Olivia says in awe, not sure 100% how to respond.

“So, how’s your mom doing?” Juniper asks.

“She’s doing ok.” Trina smiles. “And this Saturday is when she can walk normally again, with the exception of an extra week with the brace just in case.”

“That’s wonderful!” Juniper gleamed, quickly hugging Trina. “She must be excited.”

Trina’s face saddens a bit. “She is, but she’s worried with the breakout and all.”

Everyone else winces.

“I had forgotten about it.” Olivia admits. “It was busy at my house this morning.”

Megan thinks of an idea but waits to share it. “What about your aunt?”

“Same as my mom, but they’re both hanging in there.” Trina answers, upset that her family is so anxious. She then smiles, deciding to think about it later. “Let’s worry about it when it’s time. What do you guys wanna do?”

Juniper pulls out a pack of UNO cards from her backpack and smiles. “Who’s up for a game that cause migraines?”

SFIT teacher’s lounge, 2:43pm

Grace has some calming tea while sitting with Professor Kameela.

“Thanks Professor.” Grace says with a weak smile. “I needed this.”

“I’m always here for you Grace.” Kameela assures her with a warm smile. “How’s your family doing?”

“Trina’s taking it better then me and Vic.” Grace says. “I am proud of her, but I can’t help but worry. You remember what happened last time with Sirque and her Cirque de Villains.”

Kameela nods, remembering how worried she was. “Yeah. That was scary, but the heroes and the police will find them.”

“I hope you’re right.” Grace laments, remembering the last two times they had to save the day, well technically the second time they were in New York, but it still counted since Iron Man didn’t show up.

Home, 3:36pm

“I win.” Olivia puts her last card down, making her friends laugh as she wins the third round.

“Man this game is frustrating.” Trina laughs.

“Yeah, that’s why my dad only plays it once a month.” Megan snickers.

Juniper laughs, then she and her friends watch as Victoria enters the kitchen and drinks straight out of the carton.

“Oh no, not straight from the carton.” Trina says, now she was more worried about her mom. “She only does that when she’s REALLY worried.”

“I hope she’ll be ok.” Olivia says gently.

Turns out the carton only had 1/6 of the gallon left, which leads to Victoria gulping it all up. She then shakes what’s left into her mouth and tosses it into the recycling bin before looking through the mail.

“The irony is we mainly buy milk jugs.” Trina notes. “When me and my mom stopped by the store the other day, she accidentally grabbed a carton instead of a jug.”

“Ah.” Olivia says.

“She usually chugs like 1/4th of the jug when this worried.” Trina laments.

Olivia puts her hand on Trina’s shoulder to comfort her. Megan took out her notepad, realizing that her plan needed to speed up.

“I need to go comfort her, I’ll be right back.” Trina says before standing up and heading to the kitchen. Her friends watch as Trina talks to her mom, then the two hug. They couldn’t hear what they were saying, as they were speaking softly, but they knew there was love and comfort in those words. Megan knew now was the time. She tapped Olivia and Juniper’s shoulders, getting their attention.

“I have a plan.” Megan whispers. “It’s a surprise for Trina, so let’s do it through group chat.” She holds up her phone. Olivia and Juniper nod then grab their phones.

Detectives Group Chat:

JuneBug: What is this?

JuneBug: Oh my gosh.

Ol-livia-pop: What’s mine?

Ol-livia-pop: Really?

Super Sleuth: You can change it later. Here’s my plan.

Super Sleuth: The three of us (with any needed help) are going to identify the mastermind behind this and report our findings to Big Hero 6 and the police.

JuneBug: WHAT?!

Ol-livia-pop: WHAT?!

Super Sleuth: The three of us are smart, and I don’t want Trina or her mom to worry, so it’s a surprise for her. Someone might have to help. Are you guys in?

JuneBug: I’m in! :D (just gotta ask my mom first)

Ol-livia-pop:.. Count me in too. (probaly should ask my parents as well)

Super Sleuth: Wonderful 😊. We’ll reconvene later. But before we go

‘Ol-livia-pop’ has been changed by Admin to ‘Vi’

Super Sleuth: How’s that?

Vi: I love it! Thank you 😊

Super Sleuth: No problem. Super Sleuths, let’s sign off.

The girls put their phones away as they see that Trina is still comforting her mom as they hug. The girls smile, the love between the two warming their hearts. They didn’t want their friends or their city to suffer, so they were determined to find out whoever this mastermind was, and help the heroes bring him down.

Notes:

Some mastermind and Doc Ock broke out some major criminals (and Trivia Trickster and Remi) for some unknown plan. Trina's friends plan to help by discovering who the mastermind is, and then telling Big Hero 6 and the police. Who is this mastermind anyway?
