“Hmm, is something a miss?” H’aanit asked. She was out in the forest of S’warkii hunting with her beloved snow leopard, Linde, sniffed the air and started acting strange.
Linde looked at H’aanit for a brief moment, before running off through the forest.
She has never acted like this before. H’aanit thought as she raced after the snow leopard. Something truly strange must be in the first to make her act like so.
H’aanit caught up to Linde in a clearing. Linde was staring at a creature H’aanit had never seen before. It was a large mammal covered in fur that was grey, black, and white. It had a black tail similar to a lizard’s, and its eyes were completely green.
The creature moved closer to Linde, and H’aanit raised her bow. Then the creature licked Linde. She seemed startled, but the snow leopard licked the creature back. H’aanit lowered her bow and walked up to the two.
“Greetings.” She reached out and pet the creature on the side of it’s face. It gave her a wide smile full of sharp teeth.
“Gruff, there you are!” A young woman around H’aanit’s age came running from the forest. She had long brown hair in a braid, and she was wearing an orange outfit, with a bow strapped on her back.
“Gruff, I told you not to run off like that.” The woman said. Gruff turned to face her, and accidentally hit H’aanit with its tail.
“Ah.” H’aanit managed to stay on her feet, though her side now hurt a little.
“Oh, did Gruff hit you? He didn’t mean to.”
“I know, and I am not hurt. Are thou a hunter like I?”
“Yes, though I come from a distant land.” The woman said. “My name is Fawn, what’s yours?”
“I am called H’aanit.”
“H’aanit.” Fawn said. “I’ve never heard a name like that before, it’s beautiful.”
H’aanit blushed. “Thank you.”
“You must be weary from your travels. I can lead you to town.” H’aanit said.
“That would be nice.”
