Chapter Text
A week later, Buck was finally able to go home and was wheeled to the entrance of the hospital by the nurse, who had to battle him into the wheelchair. Buck tried to assure her that he could walk buy she insisted because it was protocol, which Buck didn't take lightly. He ended up with the nurse pointing her finger in his face and aggressively implementing the rule.
"If you do not let me wheel you out of this hospital I swear to god I will ductape you the wheelchair." "She threatened. Buck finally obliged.
As they finally reached the carpark, Buck spotted his chauffer, Eddie, leaning against the hood of that car with his hands in his pockets and a big grin across his face. He opened the car door and bowed, gesturing towards the door.
"Your majesty."
Buck grinned and attempted to stand, but stumbling awkwardly onto the nurse who struggled to catch him. Eddie quickly sped over and collected Buck from the nurse who silently thanked him and rapidly took herself and the wheelchair inside so she didn't have to deal with Buck anymore.
Eddie tucked his hand underneath Bucks arm and left a supporting hold across Bucks back, allowing him to lean on him as buck walked. They made it to the car with the assist from Eddie getting Buck into the seat.
When the finally set off Buck expected to be taken to his apartment, but when they drove past the usual turning road, he got a little suspicious. He didn't say anything but when he looked up, he found the car pulling into eddies driveway.
"Uh eds?"
"You're not going home (by yourself, may i add) after your injuries l, so you're staying with me so I can keep an eye on you. You're not going home till I can tell you're better." Eddie ordered, nodding his head and raising his eyebrows at buck. Buck grinned and raised his hands up by his head in defeat.
"Alright alright." He said, allowing Eddie to care for him.
He tried to get out of the car and make his way to the door when his legs gave way and he tripped. Eddie ran over and before he could even think, buck was being lifted into eddies arms and through the front door. Buck usually would protest, but in this scenario, he didn't want to.
Eddie gently placed him onto the couch and handed buck the TV remote.
"Don't you even dare think about getting up. Anything you need, tell me and I will do it for you." Eddie ordered as buck sulked on the sofa.
"Where's Chris?" Buck asked.
"He's at school, need to get him at 3:00, so we've still got a few hours." He said, looking at his clock.
"Can I go with you?" Buck questioned.
Eddie agreed along as buck promised not to get out of the car by himself and atleast hold eddies hand to the school.
"I'm making drinks." Eddie said.
He made his way to the kitchen and started brewing the kettle making coffee for himself and a hot chocolate for buck. He knew his sweetooth and lathered it in whipped cream and marshmallows. He brought out the drinks, placed them on the coffee table and sat down, watching buck eagerly take a sip.
"Thanks Eddie." Buck said once he finished his drink. He then shuffled close so they were centimeters apart and let himself 'accidently' tip onto eddies shoulder. Eddie willingly accepted the act and brought buck into a warm embrace. Buck wrapped his arm around eddies waist and nuzzled his face into eddies chest.
Then Eddie grabbed Bucks legs and scooped them onto his own, so they were criss-cross over each other. Minutes after that, buck had fallen asleep and Eddie grabbed a blanket from the back of the sofa and draped it over buck and himself, squeezing him tight. Then Eddie allowed himself to sleep too.
Around an hour later, Buck woke up to the familiar warmth of Eddie Diaz. He felt eddies hand subconsciously running through his curls and let himself sink into the embrace. His hand was across eddies chest feeling the fall and rise of it as Eddie breathed. Eventually, he caught himself copying the pace of eddies breath but stopped to check under the covers- where Eddie was stroking Bucks legs with his thumb. Buck grabbed the corner of the blanket and tucked it under his chin, placing his hand back on the centre of Eddie's chest, closing his eyes.
A few minutes later Eddie woke up too. He admired buck, who he was cradling in his arms and caressed his hair. He planted a soft kiss on his forehead and gently scooped him up, carrying him up to his bedroom. He carefully placed him down on the bed and tucked the covers over him, giving him another kiss.
"I'll wake you later mi amor.. sleep well."
Eddie decided it would be best to get some jobs done, so for an hour or two, he spent that time tidying. He cleaned the kitchen, dusted, picked up Chris's toys and hoovered. As he was hoovering, he heard a loud bang. He turned off the hoover and looked around to find what he had knocked over, but there was nothing. Then it dawned on him.
"BUCK!" He yelled, abandoning the hoover and racing to the bedroom.
Buck wasn't there.
He then ran to the bathroom and found buck, one arm over the bathtub.
"I lost balance." Buck admitted, feeling embarrassed.
"Hey its okay, don't worry. Here let me help you up." Eddie said and brought buck to his feet.
"I'll wait outside, tell me when you're finished and I'll help you back to bed." Eddie said
When buck had finished, Eddie came in to help him out and back to bed which buck refused.
"Can you take me to the dining table?"
"sure."
Eddie swept him off the floor and took him to the table, when he placed him.
"Uhm Eddie?"
"You said to the table you never said to the chair." Eddie said cleverly, grinning and holding bucks thighs. Buck smiled and placed his hands on eddies shoulders, slowly bringing him closer so he could grab eddies back. Buck looked at him longingly and Eddie nodded, gently moving in for a kiss.
The two of them connected like a jigsaw peice, perfect for each other in everyway as their mouths passionately moved together. It wasn't harmful or aggressive just peaceful and gentle. Eddies left hand gripped Bucks waist and his right hand squeezed his thigh. Eventually the kiss got a little more intimate and buck moaned into the kiss as eddies tongue slipped in. After a minute, Eddie decided to break the kiss remembering Bucks lung. Secretly buck thanked him as it was getting hard to breath, but he pouted at eddie.
"Oh come on buck, we need to leave soon anyways, Chris is waiting for us." Eddie said cupping Bucks cheek and allowing him to snuggle his face into the hold.
Soon enough, they were in the car on the way to Chris's school. When they arrived, buck protested against Eddie helping him but when Eddie gave him the 'dad look' he obliged. They walked into school with eddies arm around Bucks waist, with the other holding his hand out infront of him.
As they got into the school, they spotted Christopher, but he didn't seem very happy. He was sat down outside the office. When he saw Buck however, his face lifted and he got giddy. Buck stumbled over and knelt down to him, hugging him tight.
"Hey superman, what'd you do?" Buck said, a stern but playful look on his face.
"The right thing." Christopher said, crossing his arms.
"Okay superman, you can tell us later-" Buck tried to say, but was interrupted by the squeak of the office door.
"Mr Diaz and... Mr Diaz?" The man questioned looking at Buck.
"Uh yeah, Diaz-buckley." Eddie said, winking at Buck.
"Okay, may you come in?"
They all sat down with Eddie looking a little nervous as the teacher looked angry.
"So Christopher is in trouble today because-"
"Sorry, if he's in trouble why haven't you rung me?" Eddie said, snapping. He then felt a reassuring hand clutch his own.
"Sorry Mr Diaz. It happened recently. Christopher had pushed a boy over and repeatedly hit him" The teacher said. Eddies face crumpled into confusion and Buck tapped his shoulders nodding to the door.
"Excuse me sir, may I bring Christopher in so he can explain." Buck asked.
"Mr diaz-buckley, I'm afraid children lie about an awful lot of things."
"Yeah im aware but I'd like to listen to chris because he told me he did the right thing. There is more to the story than he attacked someone." Buck said sternly.
"Mr diaz, could you tell your husband to calm himself." The teacher asked. Eddie got agitated.
"Don't talk to me as if he's not there. My son is coming in." Eddie ordered. The teacher wouldn't argue if he knew what was best for him.
Buck limped to the door and invited Chris inside sitting him on the chair that he was previously on. He knelt infont of Chris and asked calmly.
"Can you explain why you hurt the boy for me?" Chris nodded and told them that the boy was hurting other people, pushing them around and telling them mean things. Buck hugged him and thanked him.
"Right, so where's that boy and his parents? He's a bully from what we've all heard." Eddie piped up. The teacher stammered, causing Eddie to get annoyed.
"You're not punishing our kid for defending people. Talk to the kid hurting others, not mine." Eddie said, helping Buck stand and ushering Chris out of the room.
The drive home was awkward because Chris wasn't sure what to say and Buck and Eddie were thinking about how they were gonna tell Christopher about their newfound relationship. After a few minutes Chris said something that sent the car into hysterics.
"Are you getting married to Buck dad?"
"Wh.. what!?" Eddie said.
"AH eyes on the road eds!"
"You called Buck diaz-Buckley. Are you getting married!" Christopher asked, excited. Buck felt relieved and turned to talk to chris, laughing.
"Would you be upset if we did?" Buck said.
"Nope! You're like a second dad anyways." He said gleefully. Eddie let out a sigh and grinned as they pulled into the driveway.
They all made their way inside, Chris doing a better job at walking than Buck, and sank into the couch. Buck nearly fell asleep instantly but couldn't due to Christopher latched at his side.
"Hey Chris." He said, squeezing him tight.
"Are you healed now?" He asked, playing with Bucks curls.
"Sure buddy, I'm just fin-" He tried to say before Eddie walked in and threw a cushion at him.
"No he's not. He can't walk well and he still stuggles to breathe. Don't believe him Chris." Eddie laughed as Chris flicked Bucks nose. Buck dramatically threw his head back and pretended to die, sticking his tongue out the side fo his face.
Chris laughed heartily and Eddie watched the two in admiration. His son and Buck looked like a perfect family, that he didn't ever want to push away.
His two boys together.
