Tim, buddy, what do you mean you might had accidentally made a Love Child?!

Summary:

After Kon’s death and Tim’s multiple failed attempts at cloning his crush. Tim accidentally made a test tube baby. Named Daniel or Dan-El. Then he lost him….

Notes:

Based on a Tumblr post that I got permission to make a fic well at least the main idea and one part of the idea... The link should work. But I did not get permission from die-erlkonigin6083 (at least not yet as they have yet to respond but I need this out of my head now so I’m writing now) to use their part of the idea. So I am doing my best to not incorporate into the fic. If die-erlkonigin6083 does not like that I may have incorporated their ideas about this idea I will redo it to ensure that I am not crossing boundaries.

Chapter 1: Where am I?? -Danny

Chapter Text

Danny feels abnormally hot. And swishy? Yeah that’s the word he would use. His head is all fuzzy after… after something. He swears something happened. It has had to. How else would you explain how small he feels. How lost he feels. And how big that stain glass door looks. It shouldn’t be that big. Right?

He start to waddle closer and closer to the pretty glass of the door. As he’s about to knock on it to catch the attention of two men on the other side he remembers. A bit at least. He remembers asking… clocky? Yeah clocky sounds about right. He remembered asking Clocky to see his parents. And remembered how Clocky told him over and over again to be careful with his strength. Something about things being extra fragile to him.

As he taps the slightest he could to grab the attention of the two men on the other side. He thinks to himself how happy he is that he didn’t damage to pretty door. The door had beautiful wood finishes that enclosed the stain glass of lilac and white lilies. The two men turn to him. You could hear one of them say to himself Daniel. Which caused the other to violently open the door.

All these thoughts came rushing through his head. That these people might be able to help him find his parents. As it did seem that they knew him. And that he wouldn’t have tried so hard to keep his strength under control if he knew the man would splinter the wood either way. While the stain glass door was beautiful it was not one hundred percent worth the effort that he put into ensuring it didn’t break. It didn’t even have Black Dahlias or forget me nots.

“Can you help me find my parents?” Danny asks the second that he could. The two froze in front of him. “I asked clocky if he could send me to my parents. And he just left me here! So can you help me? Clocky said something about ab-ab- a really hard word to say! And said I had two dads. So can you help?”

The taller man crouched down to his level and softly smiled at him. Before he could speak Danny spoke up. “You look familiar. Like I should know you. Do you know why?” It immediately choked up the other man. “Is he okay mister?” Danny asks softly almost whispering to the taller man.

“He will be. Once we figure out who your dads are.” The taller man says to him softly. Danny nods very matter of a factly. He yawns very politely. The taller man sucks in a breath. Danny leans onto him.

“Why such a strong reaction?” Danny asks rubbing his eyes. He does not wait for a response as he gets comfortable in the taller man’s grasp. He wiggles around till his head in tucked under the tall man’s chin. It makes both gasp for breath slightly. Danny moves his head to look at the shorter man to ask. “Do I act like my parents? Is that why you two are acting so weird?”

“We just need to make sure. It’s just a theory. But you act so much like your dad. The older one. So clingy and adorable.” The tall man says. He is looking at Danny at the beginning but once he starts talking about his dad the tall man starts to look at the shorter man.

Chapter 2: My baby!?! -Kon

Chapter Text

Kon and Tim found refuge at the farthest part of the manor near the garden. The gala was so loud and annoying. But it was the first chance they could publicize him and Tim’s relationship.

A soft tap in the glass door near him catch’s his attention. It was so quiet that if it were not for his super hearing he would have not been able to hear it. As he looks out the door to see no one he looks back at Tim. He sees his boyfriend who is looking down at the bottom of the door with his jaw dropped. He looks down at what Tim is looking at. Then he hears it..

“Daniel.”

Kon opens the door roughly. Too rough for a stain glass door. Too rough for his potential son being on the other side of the door.

“Can you help me find my parents?” The toddler asks. He can tell Tim froze up next to him. He can tell he did too. This is too much of a coincidence that this toddler who looks to be the same age as his kid would be us missing his parents. That this toddler has his green eyes. His Kryptonian eyes. “I asked clocky if he could send me to my parents. And he just left me here! So can you help me? Clocky said something about ab-ab- a really hard word to say! And said I had two dads. So can you help?”

He crouches down to be at level with the toddler who has his eyes. Tim’s messy adorable hair. Just as he is about to open his mouth to say something to his potential toddler son he speaks up first. “You look familiar. Like I should know you. Do you know why?” Kon can hear his boyfriend choke up behind him. “Is he okay mister?” Daniel asks softly almost whispering to him. He can almost pretend that his baby his telling his a secret to keep from his other dad.

“He will be. Once we figure out who your dads are.” He says softly as to not frighten his kid. Daniel nods very matter of a factly just like he would when Tim would say something that made no sense but he wants to be supportive. He yawns very politely just like Tim does in public. He sucks in a breath. Kon promises himself that even if this Daniel is not Dan-El he would be keeping him. Even if his actual dads appear this is now his son. Daniel leans onto him.

“Why such a strong reaction?” Daniel asks rubbing his eyes. His baby is so cute. Daniel does not wait for a response as he gets comfortable in Kon’s grasp. He wiggles around till his head is tucked under Kon’s chin. It makes both him and Tim gasp for breath slightly. It reminds him of when Tim would get tired and retreat into his grasp for comfort. Daniel moves his head to look at Tim to ask. “Do I act like my parents? Is that why you two are acting so weird?”

“We just need to make sure. It’s just a theory. But you act so much like your dad. The older one. So clingy and adorable.” Kon says. He is looking at Daniel at the beginning to keep his attention away from Tim who looks to be on the verge of tears but once he starts talking about Tim to his kid he starts to look at Tim.

He looks down at his baby so lovingly. He notices that Daniel is asleep. And sleeping the same way Tim does when he’s wiped out after patrol. Kon looks up at Tim with a smile. “Our baby acts just like you. He’s perfect.”

He can see Tim’s shaking hands as he hesitates to move closer to them. “He looks just like you. He has your eyes… he has to be ours. Right?” Tim struggled out. Kon gets up with Daniel still in his arms to move closer to Tim. He places a gentle kiss onto his temple.

“We’ll check to be one hundred percent sure. But if he isn’t he is now.” Kon says softly while holding Daniel close with one arm and holding Tim close with his other arm. “But look at our boy. He has to be ours. He has Kryptonian eyes! But I am sure you’ll double check.”

Tim nods into his chest. Kon smiles at his boys. His toddler who is now slobbering on his chest. His boyfriend hiding his face into his chest on the verge of tears. “Lets go home Rob.” He says softly

Tim gets out of his grasp. And grabs his handkerchief. Cleans up Daniel slobber and puts it into his pocket. Kon can see Tim shaking hands. He grabs Tim’s hand softly. “If he is Dan-El. It’s okay Tim. Its okay. It wasn’t your fault.” He kisses Tim softly.

“But it was! I lost him!” Tim shouts. Daniel stirs in Kon’s grasp. He puts all his attention to his son. He rocks him gently the same way he has seen Ma rock Jon to sleep. He starts to hum to Daniel softly.

“Kon..” Tim says softly. Kon looks at him softly. “You’re perfect at this…”

He kisses Tim softly. “So will you. But we need to keep him a secret. I’ll fly back to the apartment.” As he’s about to fly up Tim stops him. He looks up at Kon.

“The manor. I’ll text Alfred. The bat computer. Family.” Tim mutters exasperated. Fiddling with his fingers. Kon puts Daniel in his hands. Tim stumbles on his feet but keeps Daniel close to his chest. Holding his head softly. Petting his hair softly. Bouncing him up and down to shush him back to sleep.

“You’re perfect.” Kon says kissing Tim happily. “You both are.” He says kissing the top of Daniel’s head. He tries to take Daniel from Tim’s grasp. But he pulls back. “You have to let go. I’ll head to the manor. Leslie will check on Daniel. She’ll do a DNA test. Alfred will make his temporary room. Get him clothes. But you need to stay here and tell your Dad and siblings.” He says slowly taking Daniel out of Tim’s grasp. Softly and carefully as to not aggravate Tim and not to hurt Daniel.

“Yeah..” Tim says slumping against Kon. “Need to tell them before they find out other ways.” He kisses Kon on the cheek before kissing Daniel’s cheek as well. “Stay out of sight. Be slow. We don’t know if he can withstand the speed.”

“Of course worrywart.” Kon says smiling. He holds Daniel tightly to his chest. Holding him inside his suit jacket. He rushes the fastest he can to the manor.

Chapter 3: My baby… -Tim

Chapter Text

He hates galas. He hates them so much. Not only does he hate that people are trying to talk to him to get closer to Bruce. To climb the social ladder. Not to mention it makes Kon stressed. All the loud noise that hurts his ears. So he dragged him near the garden. The fountain should drown out the people.

He looks over at his boyfriend to check and see if they are far enough for the loud gala noises not to bother him. He instead sees Kon looking at the door behind them. He probably heard something. Tim looks to find anything that might have caught Kon’s attention. He looks down at the floor on the other side of the stain glass door. That’s when he sees the toddler.

“Daniel.” He whispers. But if it really is Daniel he heard. Kon definitely heard. He turns to Kon. To see his panicked happy smile.

Kon opens the door roughly. He splinters the wood of the stain glass door. As he looks at Daniel to make sure he’s okay. But given that he’s most likely Dan-El with those Kryptonian green eyes he’s okay. As he’s about to ask if he’s okay he sees Danile is exasperated with Kon and the door. If he’s right and this is Dan-El he took a lot of willpower in ensuring that he doesn’t break the glass. All that work for Kon to destroy it.

“Can you help me find my parents?” Daniel asks. Tim freezes up but it was comforting to know so did Kon. This has to be Dan-El. He looks to be the age Dan-El would be. And this toddler has Kon’s green eyes. His Kryptonian eyes. “I asked clocky if he could send me to my parents. And he just left me here! So can you help me? Clocky said something about ab-ab- a really hard word to say! And said I had two dads. So can you help?”

Kon crouches down to be at level Daniel. And he’s stuck there behind him. Too scared to get too close. “You look familiar. Like I should know you. Do you know why?” Tim chokes up. He should be able to see Daniel whisper in Kon’s ear but all he can think of is how he lost his baby. His baby that should be five by now. Who should’ve known their love. Alfred’s cooking. Jason’s cooking too and his stories. Cass’s dancing. Steph’s loudness. Damien’s art. Bruce’s brooding. Hell even Talia’s stubbornness.

“He will be. Once we figure out who your dads are.” Kon says softly. Daniel nods very matter of a factly just like Kon would when he would say something that made no sense but Kon wants to be supportive. Daniel yawns very politely just like he does in public as to not draw attention to him. Kon sucks in a breath. Daniel leans onto Kon.

“Why such a strong reaction?” Daniel asks rubbing his eyes. Dan-El would’ve been that adorable. Daniel does not wait for a response as he gets comfortable in Kon’s grasp. He wiggles around till his head is tucked under Kon’s chin. It makes both him and Kon gasp for breath slightly. It reminds him of whenever he would get tired and retreat into Kon’s grasp for comfort. Daniel moves his head to look at him to ask. “Do I act like my parents? Is that why you two are acting so weird?”

“We just need to make sure. It’s just a theory. But you act so much like your dad. The older one. So clingy and adorable.” Kon says. He is now on the verge of tears as he hears Kon praise him to their potential baby. Daniel should’ve already know this. He would’ve if he didn’t lose him.

He’s so lost in thought that he didn’t even notice Daniel falling asleep. “Our baby acts just like you. He’s perfect.” Kon says snapping him out of his train of thought. He looks at Daniel. And Kon is right. Daniel looks just like the pictures Kon would take of him after patrol.

His hands start to shake as he hesitates to move closer to them. “He looks just like you. He has your eyes… he has to be ours. Right?” He struggled out. Kon gets up with Daniel still in his arms to move closer to him. Kon places a gentle kiss onto his temple as Tim shivers.

He’s using it as an excuse to hide his face as he tries not to cry. “Lets go home Rob.” Kon says softly. If the three of them leave now people will see. He needs to make sure that this Daniel is his Dan-El. What if he isn’t. What if they find his actual dads. What if they take him back. It’s not like Daniel is really theirs if that’s true. But he will do anything for this kid. Even if he’s not Dan-El. Which statistically is improbable as he has Kon’s eyes. And already acts like him.

He gets out of Kon’s grasp. And grabs his handkerchief. Cleans up Daniel slobber and puts it into his pocket. He can use that to get DNA. And then he’ll be sure that Daniel is Dan-El. Kon grabs Tim’s hand softly that is when he realizes that his hands have been shaking. “If he is Dan-El. It’s okay Tim. Its okay. It wasn’t your fault.” He kisses Tim softly but how could he say that. He doesn’t know what happened that day. He looked away for one second and he was gone. His baby was gone. Lost. And it was all his fault.

“But it was! I lost him!” Tim shouts. Daniel stirs in Kon’s grasp. If this was Dan-El he was already doing a horrible job. He was stressing both Kon and the toddler. He wasn’t cut out for this.

“Kon..” Tim says softly. Kon looks at him softly. “You’re perfect at this…” The ‘I am horrible at this’ was left on the tip of his tongue. Kon is a natural. But he was messing it up. Maybe there was a reason why Damien tried to kill him.

He kisses Tim softly. “So will you. But we need to keep him a secret. I’ll fly back to the apartment.” As he’s about to fly up Tim stops him. He looks up at Kon. His thoughts going thirty miles per second. All the possibilities that could take Daniel away from him. That would push Kon away.

“The manor. I’ll text Alfred. The bat computer. Family.” Tim mutters exasperated boarder line hyperventilating. Fiddling with his fingers. The next thing he knows Kon shoved Daniel into his hands. He stumbles on his feet but keeps Daniel close to his chest terrified that he’ll drop Daniel. Daniel… such a proper name. He needs to think of another. A nickname. Dan? Danny? Is Daniel even is name? Well it has to be he responded to it when he called him Daniel. He did right? Danny. That sounds right. He mindlessly holds Danny’s head softly. Petting his hair softly. Bouncing him up and down to shush him back to sleep. Without even realizing it.

“You’re perfect.” Kon says kissing Tim happily. Tim leans in happily at the praise. “You both are.” He says kissing the top of Danny’s head. He tries to take Danny from Tim’s grasp. But he pulls back. Thoughts whirl around his head. Thought like ‘you’ll lose him again’. “You have to let go. I’ll head to the manor. Leslie will check on Daniel. She’ll do a DNA test. Alfred will make his temporary room. Get him clothes. But you need to stay here and tell your Dad and siblings.” He says slowly taking Danny out of Tim’s grasp. Softly and carefully as to not aggravate Tim and not to hurt Danny. Tim slowly lets go of Danny. He will not be depriving Danny of meeting his great grandpa. Alfred would love Danny. Danny seems like he would love sitting in the kitchen taste testing the food with Alfred and Jason.

“Yeah..” Tim says slumping against Kon. “Need to tell them before they find out other ways.” He kisses Kon on the cheek before kissing Danny’s cheek as well. “Stay out of sight. Be slow. We don’t know if he can withstand the speed.” Thoughts of Danny not actually being Dan-El and getting hurt because he couldn’t withstand the speed flash through his head.

“Of course worrywart.” Kon says smiling. He holds Danny tightly to his chest. Holding him inside his suit jacket. He rushes the fastest he can to the manor. Tim wants to call out to slow down. But that would raw attention to them. He just needs to trust Kon that he would be careful with Danny. But he did seem certain that Danny is Dan-El so he might not be as slow as he should be. Alfred will most likely yell at him. Alfred! Tim remembers that he needs to inform him of Kon and Danny’s arrival. He pulls out his phone as he walks to Bruce and the others.

Tim makes it to Bruce just as he finishes his text to Alfred. The way Alfred reacted meant that Kon was going slow for the safety of Danny. He smiles softly at his phone catching the attention of Bruce and the other socialites around him.

“Where is Conner?” Bruce asks trying to ease the tension the socialites are feeling after seeing his kid smile at his phone while his boyfriend is nowhere in sight.

“Had to head home. Family emergency.” Tim says with a tense smile. A tense smile that only Bruce noticed. And he knows it. Bruce turns to the socialites. But Tim barely notices. He is too busy trying to figure out all the ways he could tell his family. He could tell Bruce right now. Well after the socialites leave. But then he would have to tell the rest of the family again. But he could have Bruce tell them. That wouldn’t be fair to them though.

“Tim.” Bruce says putting a hand on his shoulder. Tim then notices that all the socialites left. And that he’s no longer in the main part of the gala and is now in a smaller room. So much for keeping this on the down low. “Your siblings will be here soon. So don’t worry about tell me anything just yet.” Bruce says softly.

“Dad..” Tim breaks down into his dad’s arms. As he’s about to panic badly he feels his dad’s hands on his back. He slows down slightly. He shakes slightly as well while Bruce runs his back. “Me and Kon found him. At least a toddler that looks what I imagined he would look like if I didn’t lose him.”

Bruce tenses around him. Tim looks up at him. “It has to be him. He looks just like Kon. Eyes and all. And and he looked like he was trying to make sure that the things he was touching didn’t break. Kon is already taking him to the manor. I texted Alfred before I saw you. And Kon is being careful while flying. Just in case Danny isn’t Dan-El. I’m calling him Danny because Daniel seems too stuffy. And he might not be Dan-El. But he did respond to Daniel!”

Tim looks at Bruce, he really looks at him. And he sees his dad not believing him. “You have to believe me. It’s him dad. And he’s going Leslie will be there to make sure it’s him. I’m being careful dad. I swear.” Bruce doesn’t respond just holds Tim tightly against his chest.

Chapter 4: My baby’s baby! -Bruce

Notes:

I should be sleeping…. BUT THE GRIND

Chapter Text

Bruce is stuck as Brucie. He’s stuck in the middle of the gala with socialites. He’s stuck having to be a bimbo. He’s stuck. But his out is near as he can see Tim walking up to them in the corner of his eye.

He can see Tim on his phone as he walks up to the group. He reminds himself to have a talk with him about manners later. But that was pushed out of his mind when he sees him smile. It most likely was worth it. But it will make the socialites talk about why his kid is smiling at his phone while his boyfriend is not near him.

“Where is Conner?” Bruce asks trying to get Tim attention to the situation.

“Had to head home. Family emergency.” Tim says with a tense smile. A tense smile that only Bruce noticed. Bruce turns to the socialites.

“I’m sorry but I need to take care of my son. And make sure his boyfriend is okay.” He says politely while gently guiding Tim away from the gala and into a side room. As he guides Tim over to the room he can tell that Tim is not all there. He begins to wonder if he need to kill Kon and Clark for Tim. He will obviously let Lois live as her only crime was falling for Clark.

Bruce sets Tim down on the couch in the room. As soon as he gets a chance to take a breath his phone starts to ring. Messages from all of his kids. Dick was spamming his phone the most with ‘Is Tim okay?’ While Jason was a close second with him spamming ‘Do I need to kill Kon and or Clark?’

As much as he loves his boys all the same they can’t be more different. He sends a message to the family chat that him and Tim are in one of the side rooms. Not specifying which side room as to not overwhelm Tim as he seems on the brink of sobbing.

“Tim.” Bruce says putting a hand on his shoulder. As much as he doesn’t want to worry Tim he needs to tell him his siblings will be barging in soon. “Your siblings will be here soon. So don’t worry about tell me anything just yet.” Bruce says softly as to soften the blow. But it was unnecessary as it was clear to him that Tim was not paying attention to him.

“Dad..” Tim breaks down into his arms. Which just panics Bruce more as Tim never calls him dad, but that was cut short since Bruce can feel Tim is about to panic badly. Bruce puts a hand on Tim’s back. Just like his dad did whenever Bruce felt overwhelmed. While it did help a bit it did not stop his panic as Tim starts to shake slightly. Bruce trying to remember everything his parents did for him to calm him down remembers his mom used to runs his back with his hand. “Me and Kon found him. At least a toddler that looks what I imagined he would look like if I didn’t lose him.”

Bruce tenses around him. Bruce thinks to himself not this again. His baby was so broken up about losing a meta baby. Not to mention his meta baby. He doesn’t want his baby to get his hopes up.

Tim looks at Bruce. And he tries his best not to show it on his face. He really does. But the look of disbelief is plastered onto his face. “You have to believe me. It’s him dad. And he’s going Leslie will be there to make sure it’s him. I’m being careful dad. I swear.” Bruce doesn’t respond just holds Tim tightly against his chest. He wants to believe. He honestly does but it has been five years. And as much as he loves his baby Tim he has to be the reasonable one here.

“We’ll all head to the cave. We’ll check. And double check. And triple check. But I want to make sure you know there might be a chance it’s not him.” Bruce whispers. He whispers because he’s scared for Tim. He wants to make sure Tim doesn’t get hurt. “What are you going to do it it’s not him?”

Bruce can see the pain in his eyes. And how it hurts him. He doesn’t want to hurt his baby. He wants to protect him. But this is the only why he can in this situation. He has to brace Tim with other outcomes. Outcomes that no one wants. “Dad… it’s him. I swear.” Tim shutters.

“I just don’t want you to get hurt if it’s not true. I hated seeing you mourn him when you told us about him. I hated that you didn’t tell us… didn’t tell me sooner. I would’ve helped Tim. I would’ve searched every universe with you. But I didn’t because I didn’t want to give you false hope. I didn’t want you spending the rest of your life searching for him and losing your own life because of it.” Bruce shutters out. He holds Tim tighter.

“Danny has Kon’s eyes dad. He has Kryptonian eyes. It has to be. And if. If by the .000001 percent chance that he isn’t him. He still will be mine.” Tim cries out into his chest.

“Okay.” Bruce says to the world. As he holds Tim close as he cries. As they both cry. They both freeze up when the door opens. Bruce holds Tim closer and tries to shield his face from the newcomer.

“I’ll find Kryptonite right now if I have to.” Jason says sternly. Bruce laughs softly. Before ushering him in. Jason walks in softly. Bruce can tell his third oldest is trying to keep his steps soft as to not scare Tim.

“No need. If I did have a fight with Kon I would’ve killed him before anyone found out we fought in the first place.” Tim snorts out while still in Bruce’s grasp. He can see Jason smiling at Tim from across the room. “Come sit.”

“Come sit down Jay-lad.” Bruce says holding out his hand. Jason takes it and sit down next to them. Tim gets out of his grasp and leans onto Jason. Jason seems to happily take him into his arms.

“What happened?” Jason asks with the softest voice he can muster.

Chapter 5: Baby?? -Jason

Chapter Text

‘Fuck! Where are they?’ Jason yells to himself. He starts to rush through the gala. He heard some stuck up socialites talking about how Timmy got dumped by the clone boy. And he’s this close to just seeing green.

After bumping into multiple people while he was trying to find his brother and dad and maybe Kryptonite.. if he has the time. He finds dickface.

“You saw? Wait dumb question. Where have you checked?” Dick questions while shaking his shoulders. He can see Dicky panicking. And it’s making his panic worse.

“The west wing. I’ll head to the north wing and you head to the south wing?” Jason tries to be the voice of reason. Timmy doesn’t need his older brothers to be panicking while searching for him.

Dick nods while his thoughts were of all things that could go wrong and be wrong.

“If he hurt Timmy. Are you willing to steal dad’s kryptonite stash?” Jason says sternly holding Dick’s shoulders.

“Yes.” Dick says. The first sure thing he’s felt since he heard socialites doing what socialites do. Gossiping. Gossiping about his little brother. Saying foul things about him. And his taste. As if they don’t throw themselves at Bruce and Talia.

“Good. Now go.” Jason says pushing Dick away towards the south wing. He doesn’t look back while he rushes to the North wing.

Jason barges into room after room. The only one he doesn’t barge into is one where he can hear his little brother crying. He gently turns the handle. Brazing himself for Bruce snapping at someone entering the room. He was not prepared to see Bruce hold Tim closer. In a way that looked like he was shielding from the world.

“I’ll find kryptonite right now if I have to.” He says knowing it has to be bad or big emotional news for Bruce to use himself as a shield instead of a weapon.

“No need. If I did have a fight with Kon I would’ve killed him before anyone found out we fought in the first place.” Tim says. He smiles softly at his little brother. If he can joke around it can’t be bad. But he was still crying. Bruce was still using himself as a shield so it had to be big emotional news. “Come sit.”

“Come sit down Jay-lad.” Bruce says holding out his hand. Jason sits down next to them. A second later Tim is leaning onto him. He takes Tim into his arms with a smile. He pats Tim’s head softly.

“What happened?” He asks with the softest voice he can muster. He rubs Tim back just in case he starts crying again. He wants to get ahead of it just to be safe.

Tim looks up at him with a smile that reaches his eyes that pulls all tension of Jason’s body. Tension that he didn’t notice. But Bruce did. Bruce saw how Jason was trying to hold it together. He knew it was so make sure he didn’t panic Tim more than he so clearly looks.

“I found him Jason.” Tim says happily. Practically shaking with happiness. Jason’s smile dips a bit. Tim notices. He pulls away. “I’m making sure! But it’s him Jason! I just know it! He has Kon’s eyes! He has Kryptonian eyes! Kon is taking Danny to the manor. Leslie should already be there doing the DNA test. And if Danny isn’t Dan-El, which is a very very small chance, I’m still keeping him. Even if we find his actual parents. They left him in the garden!”

Jason pulls him back. “Okay Timmy. But I’m sure Bruce already told you not to get your hopes up.” Tim nods. “But I doubt the kid isn’t. Kryptonian eyes are only from Kryptonians. Did you know that?”

Tim melts into Jason with a giggle. Bruce just snorts. “Now I’m glad I sent Dickie the other direction.” That gets Bruce’s attention. Tim and Jason know that because of the way Bruce sat up straighter.

“Where did you send your brother?”

“In the other direction. He’s over in the south wing.” Jason says with a smile. “He probably found the others if they didn’t already head to the manor. I saw Cass and she told me that she was heading to the manor. Granted that was before your message and the socialites talking.”

Chapter Text

Cass excused herself from the group of people. She wishes that she had the hindsight Talia had. If she did she would’ve faked being sick with her.

She begins to walk over to the balcony. A great spot to hide away from people as it was chiller than normal. But that’s when she spots it. She spots Kon flying away. As she squinted at him flying particularly slow and close to the ground she spots a lump in his coat.

Knowing that the direction he is going is gonna end him in the manor she walks out of the balcony. To find Jason antsy.

“People?” Cass asks as she walks past him. He begins to walk with her.

“Yeah. Should’ve faked me death.” Jason says with a chuckle. As he messes with his hair. “Want out too?”

Cass just nods as she walks to the garden. “I have a bike stashed here for when I want out early. Want to take it?” Jason asks softly and quietly as Cass nods.

“It’s in the bushes by the exit of the garden. Take it. I can withstand this a little longer.” Jason says gesturing towards the stashed bike.

She walks towards the direction while Jason headed the other way.

As finds the bike and heads towards the manor. She still sees Kon. Flying too close to the ground and too slow. Meaning whatever might be in his coat must be fragile and can’t withstand higher altitudes and speeds. Or he’s being extremely cautious about whatever it is.

She rushes to the manor. She beats Kon there. She could’ve ran or even speed walk to the manor and still beat Kon there.

Cass greets Kon at the door.

“Weren’t you at the gala?” Kon asks shakily. Holding whatever is in his arms carefully. She nods in response.

“I’ve been out here for about two minutes. And I left after you.” Cass says curtly. “What’s in your hands?”

Kon opens his coat to show a sleeping toddler who is slobbering onto his shirt. “Meet your nephew. You are the first one to meet him.”

Cass reaches out towards him. Kon gives her the toddler. “His name is Daniel.” Cass gives him a look. “Yeah proper I know. But I wasn’t the one to name him.”

“Seems more like a Danny. With a y not an i.” Cass says holding her new nephew in her arms softly. Kon opens his mouth to say something but she cuts him off. “Yes there is a difference.” She opens the door and walk through not waiting for him.

“Your family wants a DNA test.” Kon says behind her. “Which is fair. But-”

“Even if it isn’t Dan-El you two are still gonna keep him.” Kon nods at the statement. “You two would.”

The rest of the way to the cave was silent.

Chapter Text

The only sound that indicated that someone has entered the cave was the ding of the elevator. There were no signs that someone exited the elevator. No foot steps. No breathing. Leslie was already in the med bay preparing for the DNA test. The check up for the potential meta.

Alfred greets Cass and Kon. He sees a toddler in Cass’s arms.

“Meet your great grandson! His name is Danny!” Cass says shoving a sleepy Danny towards Alfred. As Kon panics and tries to pull him back. Cass lets Kin take his son back.

Kin immediately cradles Danny into his chest. Alfred looks amused. Especially at Kon saying “His name is Daniel.”

“Too proper for a baby. Especially a meta baby.” Cass says almost huffing not backing down. That is before Alfred puts a hand on her shoulder.

“I do believe that master Danny needs to be awake for the tests.” Alfred says

“You do know there are no need for the titles. He is your great grand son.” Kon says holding Danny out to Alfred a lot less abruptly compared to Cass.

Alfred takes Danny into his arms. Bouncing him softly. Before trying to wake him up. “Danny. Wake up Danny.”

That makes Danny rustle slightly. But not enough to wake up. Cass decides to poke his cheek. When she gets looks from Kon her response is “Works on Tim.” As Danny yawns and stretches in Alfred’s arms Cass smiles. “He really is like Tim.”

“Hello?” Danny mumbles as he rubs his eyes. “Who are you? Are you my grandpa?” He says to Alfred.

“No.” He says with a chuckle. As he puts Danny down.

“Sorry. You just look very grandpa like.” Danny says swaying side to side before he abruptly stops and looks panicked. “I mean that in the nicest way possible!”

“And he has his anxiety.” Cass says with a sigh. At that Danny turns to her abruptly. And runs up to her.

“Do you know my dads?!?” He asks excitedly. Kon deflates immediately. Danny sees it and runs to him. “Are you okay?? You look like you haven’t eaten! Do you need to eat. My sister says that eating is very important!”

“Sister?” Kon says panicked

“… I don’t know. But I remember someone telling me that. I was talking to her before clocky! She told me to go to clocky and ask for my parents. Then she told me I was actually her brother…” Danny says deflatedly

Kon hold him close. “I’m sorry buddy”

“It’s okay.. but at least you guys know my parents! And you can help me find them.” Danny says into Kon’s chest.

“We need to make sure.” Cass says opening the med bay door. Danny looks inside and freezes.

-

Maddie preps the proper utensils to dissect Phantom. “Jacky get the jars!” She yells over Phantoms cries as he tries to get away from the blood blossoms.

All he sees is the pure white room with splashes of his green blood. The cold usually never bothered him. But the thought of it being because his mom was cutting him open made him cry out.

The beeping of all the machines. The smell of his blood mixed in with the smell of disinfectant made him want to throw up.

-

Danny fights out of Kon’s grasp. Once he is out he flies out of sight.

He can hear the shouts of the three calling out for him. He ignores them to be able to fly away from them. He had trusted them. But they were going to do the same. The same as whoever those people were. His mind told him that they were his parents. But his heart told him that they were just his sister’s parents. They were never his. He was never their kid. He was just there so Jazz… JAZZ! So Jazz wouldn’t be lonely anymore.

As he flies away he finds an elevator. He goes in thinking it’s the only way out. He presses the only button on there. He presses ground floor. As he panics Danny realizing that they might hear him. Then he becomes deathly silent. He turns off his heart. ‘Just like in our Phantom form.’ His voice tells himself.

The second the elevator opens without a ding he flies out. Where? He doesn’t know. He just wants some comfort.

He finds himself in a library. He flies to the top where there is a crawl space. He enters the crawl space thinking that no one will find him. As he enters he sees a little hang out. It even had a sign on the wall. ‘Jason’s hang out. If you find this leave.’

Danny finds it comforting that most likely only one person knows where this is. So he sits on the been bag chair and grabs a book. As he read it his eyes flutter close.

Notes:

Did I make up words? Maybe. but they sound like words to me so it’s okay.

Chapter Text

As Kon tries to listen for his son he turns to Cass. His heart was beating. He had lost his son. He had scared his son into running away.

“I can’t hear him. I can’t hear his heart. His breathing..” Kon’s heart started to race. His breath began to quicken while he felt like he couldn’t breathe. Nothing felt real as though he was watching this from outside his own body.

His hand went to his mouth as he keeled over when a wave of nausea hit him. He found himself with a light in his eye as someone held his face. Hands tried to pry his hand over his mouth. He clawed at his face to keep it in place. His superhuman strength worked against the others to pry his fingers from trying to break his skin.

“I just got him back.” Was all that was heard from Kon’s covered mouth before his hand clenched harder against his face. His other hand went to his opposite arm to claw at his skin. To aggravate himself. To ground himself. Tim had always said it was the worst habit he had. That his nails would never be able to ground himself in the way he wanted as they would never break the skin. Would never give him the opportunity to feel something cool or something, anything to get him out of the trance.

The second he snapped back to reality he found himself in med bay. On a table. His throat tightened against his saliva making him think he was choking. A wheeze was heard from him. He tried to claw at his throat. A hand stopped him from making contact. While he could’ve used his strength to pull away he couldn’t bring himself to do so. In the back of his head there was a voice saying ‘you’ll hurt him don’t’ and he listened. He didn’t want to cause more trouble after losing his son. He didn’t know anything about his kid. He didn’t know if he was his kid. It was wishful thinking that he was. He had a life before this. The toddler had told him himself.

Once he had stopped the wheezing he had been causing, he had rasped out “out!”

He had to get out. Out of the room. Out of the room his son had hated so much. Out of the room that caused his son to run away. He had to figure out what happened to make him have this reaction. Then he would destroy it. He couldn’t let his son believe that he was unloved. That he was unsafe. He had to make sure he felt unconditional love and care. He couldn’t let his son have doubts about it.

If he had doubts then he failed. He couldn’t fail. Not like how Clark first met him. It was a breach of trust, not there was any, and valid to be disgusted with him. But he would not do the same thing. He wanted his son to know he is cared for. He didn’t want him to feel the hate and the disgust that he felt when he was first created. He would rather die than become like that. While Clark had become better there would still be thoughts of him failing then getting the same treatment again. Kon believes that the love Clark has given him to be conditional. He would never let Danny feel that. If he does he wouldn’t know what to do with himself.

While he is Kryptonian he is still half human. His skin began to redden slightly under his hands. The consistent pressure on his skin with his strength had started to take a toll on his skin. He felt a bit of pressure on the hand he had over his mouth and now that he had come to realize he had covered his nose. As he took the hand off of his face he gasped for air. The sound of gasps of joy echoed through his head. To find the source of the sound he came face to face with Tim. He had tears in his eyes. Immediately Kon went to wipe the tears away from his boyfriend's eyes.

“Are you okay Tim?” He asked with a dry voice as he ran his fingers across his skin. As Kon began to let air into his lungs consistently the scent of chocolate began to attack his nostrils. He coughed slightly at the strong smell.

“I am now.” Tim muttered to him softly as fingers caressed the hands on his face. The smile was slightly forced. It was obvious enough that Kon realized it.

“I’m sorry I lost him.” Kon whispered as his hands retreated from Tim’s face. They began to make their wave back to his mouth. The clench on his fingers brought him back. Enough to realize that he is now in the sitting room with a cup of hot chocolate in front of him. He turns to see Tim on the floor by his feet. His forehead is on his knees. He sees his body shake with a sob. He now recognizes that in his panic to not cause any more distress to the people around him he had caused so much more. He had made his boyfriend cry.

“It’s okay Kon.” Tim mumbles into Kon’s knees. But he knew that was untrue. The pain Tim must feel after finding Danny again just from Kon to lose him again. His heart starts to clench. He messed up. Now all he had to do was wait for Tim to realize that he was too much work. Not worth all the trouble. He waited to hear ‘this won’t work out anymore’ to hear rejection. to hear that he is too much to deal with. To hear what he has always known. ‘He is not worth it.’

The cup of hot chocolate had been shoved into his hands. The warmth started to pull him away from his thoughts. The self deprecation. All the voices that vaguely sounded like Clark. He held the cup closer to himself while trying to turn to face Tim. As he opened his mouth to spew out a flood of apologies he felt lips on his. He closed his eyes and let Tim kiss him. He let Tim hold him as tears were spilling down his face. He took a sip of hot chocolate. And closed his eyes.

Chapter 9: BABY!? -Cass

Notes:

This was supposed to be out yesterday but my music was not musicing. And then it was supposed to be out earlier today but I kept getting distracted. So here we are. It’s kinda ass as I needed a buffer between Tim and Kon’s chapter.

Chapter Text

She can tell Kon is trying to listen for his kid. She can see it in his blown out eyes. His racing heart.

“I can’t hear him. I can’t hear his heart. His breathing..” She saw his chest rise and fall in unsteady breaths. She tried to calm him down. She tried to reach for him before he fell. Before she could his hand slapped onto his mouth.

“Kon!” She yelled. As he keeled over. Leslie clearly heard the commotion as she rushed out and looked at Alfred to pull Cass away. “He’s having a panic attack! He needs space and Tim!”

Leslie held Kon’s face to be able to see his eyes. After a while Cass took towards Kon. Her heart quickens slightly. She didn’t want him to hurt himself after losing his kid. She could never understand losing a kid and find them again just to ‘scare’ them away. She started to try and pry off his hands from his mouth. It only made him hold down stronger. “You’re hurting yourself Kon!”

“I just got him back.” Kon muttered into his hand. His other hand went towards his opposite arm. She took this opportunity to shove him towards med bay. While it might worsen the situation it might be the only way to snap him back to talk to him. She puts him onto the exam table. This was the only way to get him out. At least until Tim came back.

The minutes where she was alone with Kon were the worst. She heard all the small pains. She saw the way his body constricted, the way his body folded into himself. She had to forcefully hold him in place. Hold him forcefully so he wouldn’t be able to hurt himself any more. She tried her best to pull his hand away from his mouth. Her breathing quickened once she realized how long it had been since he took consistent breaths. She had to work fast to be sure he could get air properly.

The distinctive ding of the bat cave elevator stopped her from her excessive pulling on Kon’s hand. The sounds of footsteps echoed through the cave. Yelling was mixed in making the cave overstimulating especially to Kon. But it did the trick to pull him out as he gasped. Just as Cass’s breath hitched with a smile it fell immediately. Kon began to squeak. His hands went towards his throat. That’s when the door swung open. Cass saw her brother red in the face. He ran towards his boyfriend. She did not stay long. After that, she didn’t want to intrude into a very emotional situation.

As she left the room she heard the wheezing and the cry out. The cry demanded to be taken out of the room. She shook her head. Knowing that Tim was too emotionally involved to think properly she walked back into med bay ignoring the others. She waltzed back.

She heard steps leaving. Just before she reached the door of the med bay in the corner of her eye she saw Jason going towards the elevator. She saw Tim holding Kon from hurting himself anymore. Her heart drops when she sees Tim trying but failing to pry his hand from his mouth. “Hurry and pick him up. When Danny saw this room he ran. Kon is going to associate it with him losing Danny. He needs out. I thought it would get him out of it. And it did but not for long enough.”

Tim stands there with his hands shaking. Cass holds them tightly. “He needs you to get it together for now.” She lets go and hoists him up and over her shoulder. With her other free hand she takes Tim’s hand and drags him towards Jason who is holding the elevator open.

“Alfred is making something warm.” Jason says, hitting the button. Cass sets Kon onto Jason. “You carry him Cass.” She shakes her head.

“I’m tired.” She slumps against the elevator wall. Then onto Tim. He jumps under her, making her pull away. As the doors open Jason hauls Kon towards the nearest sitting room.

Cass grabs Tim’s hand and pulls him towards the kitchen. “But Kon-” Tim mumbles before wavering off at the look she gave him. The look of sadness with a hint of grief. Grief for them both. For having to see Kon like that and for having lost his kid again.

“Will be okay once he settles with you. Meaning you need to settle first.” She says softly while coming toward the kitchen door.

Chapter 10: Babe!? BABY???? -Tim

Notes:

I commented that this was supposed to be out weeks ago but I never actually finished it. And then I was ACTUALLY supposed to finish this last Sunday but didn't finish it because of the time skip. I didn't want to leave a time skip but for the life of me I can't do it. So we have a little bit of it not enough to not be a time skip though. ALSO I TOLD SOME OF MY FRIENDS THAT EVEN THOUGH I POST HERE I HAVE YET TO GET THE CURSE but i think its coming to get me.....

Chapter Text

He ran his way toward the passenger seat. No one fought him on it. Dick and Jason were in the back of the car squished against each other as Damien was making room for himself. He couldn’t blame Damien for making his presence known in the back. It was easier to take up space than letting himself be crushed between the two men. They had found Damien and Dick together in the West wing. Tim had rushed them all into the car.

Tim was the first into the car. The first to buckle up. And the first to yell out the window for them to hurry up. The second they were all in the car Tim turned to Bruce.

“Hurry up!” He shouted at Bruce with the confidence of a newborn giraffe. All wobble and no threat or confidence. He heard it in his voice. He knows the others did too.

“You were fine a short while ago-” Jason started before Tim put a hand to his face and yelled incoherent nonsense at Bruce as he started the car.

“Something is wrong. My stomach is churning… we need to get there. And we needed to be there yesterday.” He says folding into himself. His arm around his stomach as some sort of defense to try and hold it in place. “I don’t like this one bit.”

The car moved without a single word or noise. Tim knew it was because of him. And he didn’t care. But he did. He cared because now all he can hear is his stomach churning. He feels the pain in full. He feels the spikes of pain in his abdomen. The pain that should definitely not be there. Pressing his arm to his stomach wasn’t helping either. While it kept his stomach from feeling like it was flipping it caused another problem of too much pressure. The spike of pain that felt as if a knife were poking his insides and trying to escape, multiplied a multitude of times because of the outside pressure; it caused him to tear up.

“We are almost there. Then you’ll find that it was just your anxiety acting up.” The whisper that came from Dick felt more like a plea, a prayer; a prayer in ensuring his nephew's safety and well being. Tim heard it and he is sure the others do too.

The car ride was then filled with tapping. The tapping of someone behind him. The pain made it hard to remember whether Jason, Damien or Dick were behind him. It might have not been Dick. ‘He sits behind Bruce at all times.’ Tim reminds himself through the dull pain. The closer they were to the manor the less the pain would present itself. But it did not disappear entirely. There was a presence in his stomach not actively causing him pain but being big enough to feel that there was something wrong.

The walk to the cave was short as Tim burst out of the car the millisecond it stopped within the manor gates. The thing in his stomach began to grow in size. Each step it doubled. He ran faster each time. When he got to the elevator that goes down he noticed that only one person was by his side, Jason.

He could see the redness in his face. He doubts that his face is any better.

“It's going to be fine.” Jason says to himself at least that’s what he is going with. Tim doesn’t want to hear it. He knows if it was fine the pit in his stomach would disappear. Dick might’ve been right. It was his anxiety. Or his anxiety is right. They could both be right.

The ding of the elevator was the only indication that either of them pressed the button. As the door opened slightly he yelled. “What happened?!? Is everything okay?!” The door had yet to fully open before he began yelling over anything and everything. Once he could make it through the opening of the door he ran out.

Ran towards wherever his stomach felt like it was eating him whole. He made it to med bay. He could hear a loud gasp from inside followed by other alarming sounds. Without thinking of the repercussions of startling someone in the middle of what sounded like a panic attack he swung the door open. He came face to face with Cass and his boyfriend mid panic attack. Kon’s hand going towards his throat. In a blink of an eye he threw himself towards Kon to stop the hand from trying to claw at his throat.

The pit in his stomach turned into a sharp pain toward his heart as the wheeze came out of Kon. He wasn’t there for Kon when he so desperately needed it. He wasn’t able to properly shake off the overwhelming sense of pain and fear. The pain of seeing his boyfriend in the middle of a panic attack and the fear of not knowing where his kid is.

“Out!” Kon gasped out trying to reach towards his throat. He let go. He let go of Kon as he pleaded with him. The pleading was cut short with Kon’s hand clamping down onto his mouth.

The med bay door opened wide as he tried to hold Kon from hurting himself. “Hurry and pick him up. When Danny saw this room he ran. Kon is going to associate it with him losing Danny. He needs out. I thought it would get him out of it. And it did but not for long enough.” Cass hurried out.

He can't tell if it's Cass or himself pulling him onto his feet, but he is now on his feet watching Cass's mouth move as his hands don't feel real. He looks down at them as Kon is taken away from him. He looks over to see him on Cass's shoulder, but before he could feel relief that is partner is okay Cass takes him hand and rushes to the elevator.

He vaguely heard another voice as he was dragged into the elevator. His mind is worrying about his boyfriend and his kid. He lost him for the second time in his life. He was already failing in being a good father. And he knows by freezing and being of no use he is failing at being a good boyfriend. But those thoughts aren't enough to snap him out of his spiral. Nothing is. That is until he feels a weight on him causing him to jump like a stray cat. The weight disappears immediately after.

He rubs his eyes vigorously to see Jason hauling Kon away. He steps toward the two before a hand stops him in his tracks. The hand starts to pull him away from Kon. This isn't what he needs. He needs his boyfriend. He needs his son back. He needs to hold them both until he falls asleep. Until he can be sure that they won't leave his sight. "But Kon-" He finally got out the words before he was interrupted. He looked over at the owner of the hand that is causing him to be away from his Kon and finding his kid. He comes face to face with Cass and her look of disappointment. That is all Tim can see. All he can see is Cass looking at him disappointed that he couldn't help his boyfriend and couldn't keep an eye on his son.

“Will be okay once he settles with you. Meaning you need to settle first.” Cass says softly while the kitchen door gets closer and closer. That's when Tim realizes that the look she gave him earlier wasn't a look of dissatisfaction or disappointment. It was a look of sadness. A look of sadness that can only be caused by someone feeling bad that there is nothing they could do to help.

Cass begins to grab some fruit from the refrigerator to hand over to him. "I need to get to Kon. The faster I can calm him the better. Then we can find Danny." He says as the bowl of fruit is placed in front of him.

"But you need to be in the right head space for that. And you so clearly are not." Cass says in a way that makes his skin crawl. No matter how long he's known her he will never get used to that tone of voice. The tone that makes you think about what is being said. That makes you take a step back and realize she is right. "Grab some grapes and let's make some hot chocolate for Kon."

He get out of the seat he was put onto and makes his way to the stove. He stands there for a while and nothing comes to him. Absolutely nothing. Nothing to combat the fact that Cass fully believes that he should stay here and make hot coco for his boyfriend instead of being there. All he can do is wait for Cass to pass him the pot filled with milk. He stands there thinking about how he should've told someone about Danny. If he did he would've found him faster instead of waiting for him to appear. He was alive there was nothing saying that he wasn't. Yet that didn't stop him from not telling his family. It didn't stop if from waiting literal months before telling Kon. He waited months before telling his boyfriend that he cloned him while he was briefly dead. How he was so much of a baby to confess to him before he dead and how he was so much of a baby that he had tried to clone him multiple times before Danny just because he missed him.

A slam rang through the kitchen causing him to jump. As a looked at the source of the sound he found Cass staring at him expectantly. He looks between the pot of milk that is now simmering and Cass who is holding a spoon. She is holding it out towards him.

"Stir." Cass stated as she put the spoon into his hands. As he grabs the mitten to hold onto the pot to begin to stir he sees Cass moving in the corner of his eye. He sees her grab two bowls and hot water with some chocolate.

"What are you doing?" Tim asks quietly to make sure that the kitchen is not silent. He can't let the silence seep into the room or else his mind will go toward the worst case scenario.

"Double boiler. Alfred showed me. It should make the hot chocolate better. But i have no idea." Cass says softly with a giggle. "What else should I add? I think this is semi-sweet chocolate." She slowly moves the spatula through the bowl of chocolate chips.

"Sugar?" Tim adds as the milk heats up to a nice heat. He sees her nod in the corner of his eye. He really needs Cass to talk. He can't take the silence that is slowly over taking the kitchen. He can hear is her rhythmic breathing over the sense of dread that started to loom over him. All he can hear is Bruce's voice looming over him. The words that crash into his skull -the same way it did before when he just became Robin- repeating over and over again that he will never be as good as Dick was when he created the Robin mantle, as Jason was when he made Robin magic and gave so many kids hope -the same hope that made Duke create the 'we are Robin' movement when Bruce 'died'-. He will never be as good as Duke. He created something instead to forcing himself into a position where he will never belong then he was accepted into the Robin position -while for a short time he still was accepted into it-.

Cass silently grabs the container of sugar after minutes of silence. She hands a cup to him. "You do this." He nods as he grabs the cup and hands the spoon to her. He begins to add a cup of sugar into the melted chocolate. It was a slow but non repetitive action that grounded him.

"Thanks." Tim says softly. Cass nods silently while motioning towards the pot. "Right mix it in." He narrated while doing it.

"He'll love it Tim."

"I know he loves sugary drinks the weirdo… but he's my weirdo. Do you think Danny got his tastes?"

"We'll find out soon enough." Cass responses as she pours the cups of hot coco.

-

Tim begins to open the door to the sitting room that Kon is in. There is not enough sound for there to be two people in there. As the door begins to give in to his weight he sees Jason's stature blocking his sight to Kon. The tray of hot chocolate is taken out of his hands and rushed to a side table before he can even process what is happening Jason blurts out. "Get to Kon now. I don't know what to do anymore. Its been too long even for a half Kryptonian."

With that he pushes Jason out of the way. He rounds the corner of the sofa to see Kon's hands on his face. There on placed there in a way that would block airflow. He rushes to Kon's side to begin to pry his hands off of his mouth and nose. Tim doesn't know how long it took before Kon's hands gave up and let him gasp for air but what he does know is he let out a gasp of joy when it happened. He comes face to face with his disheveled boyfriend. He feels Kon's fingers wipe tears that he didn't know he shed.

"Are you okay Tim?" Tim hears his boyfriend rasp out as he runs his fingers across his face. He can hear Kon take consistent breathes before he falls into a coughing fit. He smiles softly as he knows Kon will never let anyone know the smell of chocolate caused him to fall into a coughing mess.

"I am now." He says with a soft whisper as he reaches to Kon's hands on his face. With his boyfriends touch on his face and the lack of giggling from their son causes his smile to turn tense before being forced.

"I'm sorry I lost him." He hears Kon mutter distantly. It was a smack to the face when he felt his hands retreat away from his face just to see them return to Kon's mouth. As fast as he can get to his own hands to react he squeezes Kon's fingers. It takes a while for Kon to get back but Tim puts a cup of hot coco in on the coffee table in front to Kon as he gets onto the floor. He lays his forehead onto Kon's knees.

"It's okay Kon." The words came out muffled by Kon's knees. He looked up to see his boyfriend with his eyes glossing over. The sign that he wasn't there and needed to get pulled out before something drastic happened, before he tried to choke himself again. He will not lose his Kon right after losing their son. He will not go through having to clone them both. He will fix this and find Danny before his -what some might say is unhealthy- coping mechanisms took over and he tried to clone his son. While ensuring that Kon was still there and dint leave him Tim realized that his hands were shaking. They were shaking so dramatically that they shook Kon's leg. He needed something in his hands before he started to cling onto Kon. Tim remembered what Cass told him to do to ground Kon and himself in case things went to shit and Tim would categorize this as turned to shit. He grabs a cup of hot coco and shoved it into Kon's hands. He didn't know what to do with his own hands. But seeing his boyfriends sad pleading face that scream 'don't be mad at me'. He reached for Kon's face and pressed his lips to Kon's. He pulled back from the kiss to hold Kon close to his chest as tears fell. The silence was only filled with the sound of Kon sipping on his hot coco softly. Tim kissed the top of his head.

Chapter Text

"You sent your brother away." Bruce told him. He knows that it was a statement, not a question. He knows whats what he did. He did not want Dick to be there when he found Tim. He knew that Dick would mother hen him and overwhelm him too much.

"Yeah I did. He would have made it worse!" He yelped out. It very clearly did not make sense to Bruce but this was before he knew that they didn't need to kill Kon. They were all under the impression that Kon messed up, they all thought the worst. "You didn't give us much info about why Tim was crying. Why he was hiding. All we had was what the socialites said."

"I'm okay Jason." Tim mumbled into his chest. That was when it hit him. During the rant where the green started to seep in he clung onto Tim. He wrapped himself around Tim.

"I know now."

"I didn't mean to worry you all. I just didn't want to bombard Tim. I didn't know when I sent out the message. All I saw was Tim on the verge of tears and having to make sure that the incident wasn't blown out of proportion." Bruce jumbled out. He felt bad now. He knows that Bruce is trying his best but sometimes the thought of that being true hurts his head. It makes the green bubble. It makes what Ra's said to him feel more and more true. Maybe he was telling the truth. Maybe Bruce only sees him as a way to keep Talia and Damien close. He knows that Talia made it a condition of them staying together was for Bruce to fix their relationship. Wherever Talia went Damien did too. He did whatever she told him to do. Bruce doesn't want him. He just needs him to stay so his family will stay with him.

"It's okay." He meekly pushed out to Bruce. He knows that the others in the room do not believe him. he sees it in the way that Tim puts more of his body weight onto him and in the way that Bruce's mood taking a significant drop. But there is not much any of the two can do. He knows they know. In the way Tim stares at him and Damien when they are hanging out. There was a time where he thought that Tim hated them both for trying to kill him in the past. Parts of him still believe it. But after seeing Damien and Tim laying on the floor together and a conversation with Talia he knows it's not true. He now knows that Tim wants to have a better relationship with him. But it will never erase all the shit he has done to him. He doesn't want Tim to forgive him. He does not deserve it.

"Can we go home?" Tim murmurs once his face is not pushed against his chest. He ruffles Tim's hair to push away the atmosphere that he created.

"Yeah lets get you back to the manor." He says softly as he takes Tim off of him and rests him gently to the side. He gets up carefully, he does not want to freak out Bruce or Tim with the way the green is trying to get control. He refuses to give it the power it had before. He worked so hard to take back the power. To break all the things that Ra's told him. To be able to differentiate those words from truth and lies. They were all lies mostly lies.

"Let's go home." Tim states again. He has no idea why. He already agreed to take him back to the manor with Bruce and with any of the bat kids that were still at the gala.

Jason starts to walk towards the door of the side room. That was until he felt a hand. "You are coming with us? Right?" Tim stares at him. He can feel it in his soul.

"Yeah let's get you back to the manor." He repeats what was already said.

"You'll stay?" Tim asks. "You have to." The grasp on his arm is getting stronger.

"I will. For a while. Up till you, Kon and the kid get comfortable in the manor." He says as he kneels down to stare up at Tim.

It clearly was not the answer Tim wanted as he can see that the more he talks the more Tim gets agitated. He's not being a good brother. He's a horrible brother to Tim. He always has and there is nothing that can change that. He'll always be a bad older brother to Tim, Duke, Damien and Steph. Who is he kidding, he fixed his relationships with everyone but Tim. He won't be able to fix his relationship with Tim. He has pizza dates with Steph to talk shit about the rouges and all the dumb stuff they have done. He has dropped by Duke's school, it's Tim's school too, and bothered him while dropping off lunch for the kid. He has years with Damien and they have bonded with books and shit talking the assassins in the compound. Damien is a sassy piece of shit who won't let anyone else know. He has nothing with Tim. And he will never have anything with Tim.

"Let's get you to the manor." He says patting Tim's head absent mindingly just before heading out of the room.

The silence was deafening, at least to him it was. He could feel Bruce's eyes flick between him and Tim. Bruce is thinking how much of a disappointment he is. He has to be.

The silence was short due to the demon brat running up towards them. It pulled him out of his spiel of a mess that is his thoughts.

"We must head home." Damien snorted out. Jason felt a tug on his arm as this was going on. It came from Dick.

"Yeah now." Dick said shortly as he pulled on his arm and Tim's. "No time to explain."

Before he knew it Dick was dragging him and Tim down the hall towards the exit. Bruce was not far behind but Damien seemed to be dragging more than Ra's would deem acceptable.

After a short while Tim started to lead the group. It was up until they left the gala that anyone commented on the change that Tim exhibited.

"Was Drake less agitated before?" Damien called out after looking past his shoulder.

"Yeah." Dick and Bruce both called out. It was only Jason who did nothing as he watched Tim run towards the passenger seat of the car. As Tim made it to the car and was all buckled in.

"Hurry!" Tim shouted out the window. It caused him to shutter at the panic that Tim was showing. He saw the rest of his family scramble to make it to the car. He was left outside of the car staring out at Tim.

"Hurry up!" Tim shouted at Bruce. That brought him out of the trance that he is finding himself in more and more often. He rushed to the car and pushed Damien to the middle. Damien would usually shout and fight the man handling but this is not the time to do this.

“You were fine a short while ago-” He started before Tim put a hand to his face and yelled incoherent nonsense at Bruce as he started the car.

“Something is wrong. My stomach is churning… we need to get there. And we needed to be there yesterday.” Tim says as he disappears from his sight. “I don’t like this one bit.”

The car moved without a single word or noise.

“We are almost there. Then you’ll find that it was just your anxiety acting up.” Dick said to Tim but it felt more like a plea to Jason.

The tense atmosphere was not doing well for him. He started to tap on the door. Anything and everything at one point he is fifty percent sure that he was tapping on Damien. He has no idea but if he was Damien said nothing about it.

When they made it to the manor Tim burst out of the car and ran towards the door.

The walk was short and done. At least to him. When they made it to the elevator to the cave he noticed that only him and Tim were there. He saw the redness of Tim's face due to running across the manor to make it there.

“It's going to be fine.” He says to no one in particular, he knows he's trying to comfort himself more than anything. He pressed the button to the cave after a short while as he saw Tim frozen in place.

As the ding filled the elevator he saw Tim claw at the door. When the doors started to slightly open he knew what would happen. He knew Tim would call out.

“What happened?!? Is everything okay?!” Tim yelled out, he yelled out more but that was the only thing to make sense to Jason. As he saw Tim push his body through the small opening of the door.

He saw Cass leave the med bay as Tim rushed in. He heard commotion from the med bay. He made eye contact with Cass before she rushed back into the room. When he looks back he sees the med bay door open slowly. His little brother is standing there shaking like a leaf. He can see Cass holding Tim's hand tightly as if he might drop. From what Jason can see it might be true he might turn into a puddle of emotions that he knows he and Cass can't comfort. No one but Kon could comfort Tim when he turns into a puddle. But Kon is on over her shoulder not really there from what he can see and Tim is getting dragged to him.

“Alfred is making something warm.” He says, hitting the button. He not really sure if it is true but he knows how the man stress cooks. Alfred is bound to make something warm for Tim and Kon. Cass sets Kon onto him. “You carry him Cass.” She shakes her head.

“I’m tired.” Cass slumps against the elevator wall. Then onto Tim. Tim jumps under her, making Cass pull away. As the doors open Jason hauls Kon towards the nearest sitting room. From the corner in his eye he sees Tim mindlessly walking towards them. If Jason stays he knows he will keep Tim and Kon together. But that is not what either need. Kon needs time to snap out of it. He knows that if Tim is with Kon while he's trying to snap out of it he will go right back in if they are not all careful.

He plops Kon onto the sofa. He barely makes a sound. He makes his way to the coffee table to sit in front of Kon.

"Need you to work with me dude." He tried to reason with the boy. "I really don't know what to do. Or how to help. You usually help Tim with this. I don't know if you even know how to stop this."

"Gone." It was muffled behind Kon's hands that threatened to choke himself out. "I-"

"You did nothing wrong. He is Tim's kid. So that comes with anxiety and flightiness. It was bound to happen at least once. But we know that he's still in the manor." He began to ramble. He knows that he's lying. They have no idea where Danny is. Or if he is even still in the manor. But Kon should not have to worry about that with the panic that he is experiencing now. But this was not the right thing to say as Kon's hands began to tighten around himself.

He got up abruptly at the smell of hot chocolate. He positioned himself between Kon and the door. As the door opens he sees Tim with a tray of hot chocolate. He immediately takes the tray out of his hand and places it to the side table. While doing this he pushes out. "Get to Kon now. I don't know what to do anymore. It's been too long even for a half Kryptonian."

Before Jason knew it Tim pushed him out of the way. He knew it would be better to leave now before anything really happened. The green was swarming his vision so he doubted that he would be any help in the search that he knows the others are on. He needed his happy place back when he was Robin. Whenever asked he gave the most vague answers of where the place is. He is ninety percent sure that he told Dick that it was a rooftop. He told Bruce all those years ago that it was the nook in one of the many libraries in Gotham. He never told him the same library. Tim knows it's not outside and it's somewhere in the manor. But that is all Tim knows. Steph doesn't even know it exists, only because he knows she would bother him until he told her. Duke respected that the spot be kept a secret when he got caught leaving the library of the manor. Cass knows where it is too but is too nice to not look any further. Damien knows about it and it has been his quest to find it since first got to the manor.

Before Jason knew it he made it to the library door. As he pushed open the door the room felt colder than usual. He ignored it thinking it was just the green messing with his perception. As he made it up the ladder and into the little nook that he found all those years ago he saw it. He saw a lump on his bean bag. A book covering a face. As he got closer to the ball of a person he felt the green get worse. All that was going through his head was how someone was on his bean bag taking a nap. He wanted to be alone in his happy place but now he was here with someone.

He took off the book from the person's face. It woke them up at he came face to face with the toddlers eyes. Kryptonian eyes to be exact. "Fuck." Was all Jason could muster before the toddler yelped and tried to hide behind the bean bag.

"Are you Jason?" Said the toddler as he peaked his head up from behind the bean bag. He nodded not trusting his voice. "Can you read to me? The words aren't making sense."

"Yeah sure kid." He said getting closer to the toddler. "What's your name?"

"Danny!" The toddler exclaimed happily as he got closer to Jason. If he noticed Jason getting tense he made no note of it. All that was going through Jason's head was that he found the kid without even trying and that everyone else would be so jealous that he got to bond with Danny before anyone else. It brought a pang to his chest that he was most likely the first to have a full conversation with the kid. "Can you read this one? It's my favorite." Danny said as he handed him a book that he found on the floor. "I wanted to read this earlier but I couldn't."

"That's really sad Danny." He said softly as he positioned himself to be sitting on the bean bag. "Why don't you sit here with me and I'll read you all the books you want." As he was saying this Danny plopped down on his lap.

"I'm ready!" Danny yelled happily. He felt Danny try to get closer to him as time passed.

"You have to promise to be quiet. No one else knows this place exists." He said softly to Danny as he opened the book to the first page. He felt Danny nod against his side. As he looked down he saw Danny cuddling up against his side.

"Promise." Danny mumbled into his side. It brought out a chuckle from him as he brought him closer.

Chapter Text

Danny felt a lack of a book on his face. He looked up to see the culprit. A man with a white streak in his hair and green eyes. They looked familiar. The type of green in which he should remember.

"Fuck." Was all the strange man said. It was all that was needed for him to bolt behind the bean bag. He couldn't bolt out of the nook as the man was blocking the exit. And he did not want to go back to the white room.

Then it hit him. This was Jason's safe place. The sign said so. So this has to be Jason. He has to be safe if he has a safe place away from the white room.

"Are you Jason?" he said as he lifted his head just above the bean bag. Then the man nodded. He found Jason. More like Jason found him but the sentiment was the same. He found a safe person. He found his new Jazz. Whoever that was.

"Can you read to me? The words aren't making sense." He said to Jason. He was lying. He could read it. He read a few chapters of the book that Jason took off his face. But if he wanted the safe person to stay he had to trap him. What better way of trapping Jason then by laying on top of him.

"Yeah sure kid." Jason said getting closer to him. This was perfect. If Jason gets close enough then he can lay on him and keep him. "What's your name?" That reminded him that Jason doesn't know who he is. All Jason knows is that some stranger is in his safe place. He probably thinks that he is not a safe person away from the white room.

"Danny!" He practically yells out as he gets closer to Jason. "Can you read this one? It's my favorite." He said as he picked up the closest book to him. The book he wanted to read earlier Jason had taken from him. But this would have to do for now at least until Jason sat down. "I wanted to read this earlier but I couldn't."

"That's really sad Danny." Jason said softly to him as he sat down on the bean bag. Now all he had to do was sit on him and keep him here. "Why don't you sit here with me and I'll read you all the books you want." And before Jason knew it Danny plopped his butt onto his lap.

"I'm ready!" He yelled happily. A short time passed before he started to lean more into Jason and his heat. He was really warm for a person.

"You have to promise to be quiet. No one else knows this place exists." Jason said softly to him. That was when he remembered that this nook was a secret from the people who are apart of the white room. He needed to be sure that they never found their safe space from the white room or else they would have to find another one and he quite liked this nook. He started to move more to be able to hug Jason's side. He nodded into Jason's side the second that he was comfortable.

"Promise." He mumbled. It was the right thing to do as Jason chuckled and brought him closer. His safe person liked him. He will be safe. Not like last time. He'll make sure of it. He'll always get Jason on his side. He had to make sure of it. —— sometimes sided with white coats. He needs his safe person to be his and his only.

Then Jason started to read the book he had handed to him. He can't remember what book he handed to him.

There was a commotion outside the nook. It caused him to jump. But it was good as Jason wrapped him arms around him. He finally has a safe person here. He'll make sure that he stays his safe person. "Jason what was that?" He had finally asked as the noise stopped.

"No idea Danny but I will check." Jason had said as he tried to get up. He had stopped Jason. He can't leave now. If he does they'll catch him. Then he'll be all alone. He can't do that anymore. He can't stand being alone again. "Okay I'll stay."

It was as if Jason was reading his mind. He held Jason tighter. "Thank you." He shook out. He held Jason more tightly. He can't let Jason leave him too. He needs him. He can't lose him.

"Anything for you. I've got you." Jason hummed to him softly as he laid down on the floor. Danny immediately laid his head onto Jason's chest. "But we have to leave soon. You have to eat."

"Oh." He murmurs as he realizes that Jason is right. He can't remember the last time he ate something. "But what about the white room?" The shake in his voice could not be hidden. He knows Jason heard it too. He had to if he took him in his arms.

"We won't go anywhere near that. If you want you can stay here and I can bring the food here." Jason tried to compromise.

"You can't leave me alone. They'll find me." He mumbles as he huddled himself into Jason.

"I'll take you with me then. We won't go anywhere near the white room. I promise." Jason murmured as he lifted Danny up.

Jason did not leave much for discussion as he carried Danny out of the nook and into the main room of the library. He started to panic. All that went through his brain was he was getting closer and closer to the white room. He had to get out. He needed to be back in the nook. He needed his safe p-

A pressure to the top of his head pulled him out of his thoughts. It reminded him that he didn't need his safe place if he had his safe person, if he had Jason.

"Let's get some food. What do you want?" Jason murmured as they left the library. The further he felt he was away from the nook the quieter he and Jason got. He doesn't know if it's due to him squeezing onto Jason or the fact that there are panicked voices getting closer and closer.

"Anything but toast." He whispered to Jason. It earned him a giggle that resulted in the end of the panicked voices.

"It'll be okay. I've got you. It might get loud but I'll get you your food." Jason said confidently as he opened the door to the sound of silence. "Or I guess not. Cane we just get some food for the baby?"

"I'm not a baby!" He yelled out hitting Jason on the top of his head as he continued to complain. While it made Jason giggle it did nothing to the others in the room. He still has yet to look over his shoulder to face the people who brought him to the white room.

"You need to turn around Danny." Jason urged as he tried to place him onto the floor. But he did not let it happen. He continued to cling onto Jason like his life depended on it. And to him it could've, for all Danny knew the second he touched the floor the other in the room could've scooped him up and put him back into the white room. "Danny." Was what he heard before getting shaken. He looked up and saw Jason trying to shake him off of his arm. "You need to eat."

"I can eat with you." He urged as he clung tighter to Jason's arm. "You promised."

"I need to cook cause I doubt that you will eat anything that anyone other than me will give you." That caught his attention because he was right. He would not eat anything unless Jason made it. Who knows what the others would do to his food. They might drug him and take him to the white room like Jazz's parents did. Danny nodded and clung onto Jason tighter before positioning himself to be on his back.

"No toast." He said matter of factly as he hid his face into Jason's neck. If he can't see them then they can't see him. If they try to back stab Jason then he goes down with him too. He can't stay here without Jason. Jason will keep him safe. He has to. He's all Danny has.

Chapter 13: Oh *looks at Tim and Kon* OH! -Duke

Notes:

Might be angsty idk man. Also sorry for the late update. I kinda forgot about this last month then had to lock in for school. So this was not exactly number one on my list. And to add on I had no idea how to write Duke’s pov so this might be ooc….

Chapter Text

It's loud in the manor. Every room Duke goes into is loud. There are traces of brightness in some too. He tried to find the source of the brightness as it didn't obviously attach to a person. It reminded him of a glow in the dark sticker. Soft and cozy…ish as it felt like a scared stray cat. But very green. He can never tell anyone this because how can he explain that the trail of glow looks like glow in the dark stars and feels like a stray cat but green. They'll think he's crazy. How can he tell the cat is green? He doesn't know himself but it's true. A green cat. Yeah that makes sense.

He feels himself losing it. If he tells anyone they won't let him do a night shift again. He wants to hang out with the family more. But if he goes crazy after one night patrol they'll ban him from it. He needs to find the source and then try to explain it. If he has the source of the green cat feeling then he has an explanation for why it feels like a green cat.

The burst of the library door pulls Duke out of his thoughts. It showed him that he had walked all the way to the library while trying to follow the green stars. When he turns to see the cause of the commotion he comes face to face with a panicked Dick and Damien.

"What happened? I thought you two were supposed to be the most calm out of everyone in this family?" He tried to joke but his voice was in it. It faltered off when he realized the green stars and green cat feeling look and feel just like Damien's aura, come to think of it, it looks like Jason too. It was the Lazarus pit. It looked like the pit. Whether it felt like the pit or not was not up to him. It was up to the people in his family who were submerged into the pit.

"Remember Tim telling us about the clones he made right?" Dick's smile was tense and sad.

"Yeah. To think there was a time where Tim used to say Kon was just a friend." He says with a giggle as he looks at the two. "What happened?" Was blurted out when he saw how sad his brothers looked.

"Remember what the end product was right?" Dick tried to nudge him into the answer.

"Yeah.. a baby… that he-" He started to answer before Damien stood up straight. He might be a newer addition to the family but that did not mean he did not know his brothers mannerisms and their tells. No matter how much Damien insisted that he didn't have any. "They found him?"

Dick nodded slowly while Damien tensed. "And he's gone again.." He added. He didn't need to be told that there was bad news when his brothers were tensed. "We found him once. I'm sure we'll find him again. It's only a matter of time."

"Yeah of course." Damien spat out. He saw that Damien was sad. But to figure out what else was bothering him was a little bit harder than reading his body language that Cass so greatsouisly taught him.

"Sad you didn't get to meet him?" He tried to figure out the reason. It was either this option or he was sad that he was no longer the only bio related kid to someone else in this family. But that was very unlikely. No matter how much Damien praised being the only blood related child to Bruce, Damien really did care for the rest. He could see that when Damien fought for Steph's 'honor'. If he let that slip in front of anyone then Damien might actually let kill him like he promised when he found out.

"Yeah.. Wanted to see if Kon messed with Drakes DNA." Damien snorted out with a snark. And a tilted up head movement.

"Sure baby bat." Dick said ruffling with Damien's hair. It startled Duke as he finally remembered Dick was standing there. Dick was never that quiet even when he needed to be.

"Let's go eat something. I'm sure our stomach would appreciate it." He tries to coax them out of the library. He needed to get them out of the green room. It took him a while to realize it but this was where the source of the green is. He needed them to get out of the source until he found the source in the room.

After some coaxing that took too long and caused too much of a commotion, he managed to get them out of the library and to the kitchen. It was an uncomfortable silence that Duke wanted out of as soon as possible. When he pushed open the doors to the kitchen, he saw Bruce and Alfred at the dining room table. Cass was not that far away as Alfred tried to reason with Bruce. He looked around and saw Tim guiding an out of it Kon to a seat. He walks over to Cass, leaving Dick and Damien to help Alfred with Bruce.

"He has been trying to reason with B for a while now. Tim just got here with Kon not long before you three got here." Cass brought up the second he got to her side.

"No sign of the kid?" He asks already knowing the answer. Cass shakes her head. The noise of three people comforting Bruce and Tim trying to get Kon more grounded than before was deafening, it was too loud until it wasn't. Kon was the first one to react to something. Before anyone could ask what it was. The door of the kitchen swung open.

"Or I guess not. Can we just get some food for the baby?" Jason said to no one specifically, well no one answered him, as he walked in with a child with him.

"I'm not a baby!" The baby yelled as he tried to attack Jason. "I'm like five. Not a baby." Jason started to laugh with the toddler. He was still tense, you could see it in the way he refused to look back.

"You need to turn around Danny." Jason said as he tried to place Danny on the floor. Duke could see the way Tim and Kon tensed when Danny clung onto Jason and refused to let go even after Jason trying to fling him off. He saw Kon have to get hold back to not scoop Danny up when Jason first started to shake Danny off.

"I can eat with you." Danny yelled at Jason. "You PROMISED!"

He could see the kid was on the verge of tears at the thought of Jason leaving him. He could see Kon flinch at the yell. He could not tell whether it was because of the loud noise or if it was due to Danny's attachment… issues. That is the nicest he can put it without feeling bad towards Tim.

Duke looks at Tim and sees him frozen in place. Holding onto Kon just staring at Danny. He can't tell if he is breathing or not.

"I need to cook cause I doubt that you will eat anything that anyone other than me will give you." Jason said softly and as kindly as he could muster, Duke knew it was more for the others in the room than Danny. Danny clung onto Jason and moved to be on his back.

"No toast." Danny said as he hid his face into Jason.

Jason faces Tim and Kon. Duke can see Jason mouth out 'I'm sorry.' before he walks to the fridge to presumably make the kid some food that is not toast.

Duke then looks at Tim and Kon. He sees Kon on the verge of tears. Tim looks to be holding his breath. He doesn't know what else can go wrong.
