"Ellie. Stop."
Reginald Copperbottom was loading his gun as he watched the growing love of his life, Ellie Rose, stabbing the already dead Terrence Suave over and over again, all while laughing away.
Just like that man did...
"Ellie! He is already dead!"
Reginald thought that if he was just a little bit louder, that Ellie would hear him after not hearing him the first time, that she would stop this madness and they could just all calm down...
But she didn't, continuing to stab away at what was left of the bastard leader like he was a potato getting prepared for baking.
"ELLIE! YOU'RE SCARING ME!"
He didn't want to do it, he didn't want to hurt her.
But Reginald found himself cocking his gun, shaky hands readying himself...
Because at that moment... she was just like him.
"ELLIE!"
A gunshot rang out.
"Holy..."
And Reginald's gun hit the floor, bullets still in the chamber as blood started seeping from his chest.
Reginald saw Ellie stop and turn around, the color leaving her face as she took a step back, the madness that had temporarily etched her face just moments ago was now replaced with fear...
"Did you two think it would be that easy to take me out?
I'm not that stupid."
It couldn't be... it shouldn't be...
Terrence was supposed to be beyond dead at this point, that the whole point of this rebellion of Ellie's was to dethrone and kill the man that brought so much suffering and pure evil to the mighty Toppat Clan...
So why was Reginald currently hearing his voice behind him...
"Oh Reggie, I would say that you should've known better but alas, you thought to follow the leadership of a little girl who was never cut out for any of this.
But they do say that love makes you do stupid things."
Reginald crumpled to the floor, clutching his still bleeding chest as Terrence Suave just walked on by, holding a simple revolver as he looked ahead to Ellie.
"Shame on you, Ellie.
I thought my darling little daughter would've at least known what her dear old dad looked and sounded like, but I guess murdering random strangers is the only thing you are good at.
Some people just never change..."
Ellie had grabbed her sword tighter then before and lunged at Terrence, screaming at the top of her lungs as a new, burning anger filled her entire being.
The first shot from Terrence didn't flinch Ellie in the slightest, and the second shot only staggered her balance.
But the third shot rang out and Ellie dropped to the floor, right near where Reginald was bleeding out at.
Terrence just calmly reloaded his revolver as he cleared his throat, knowing that Reginald and Ellie were no longer active threats as he glanced at the dead body double on the floor.
"Body doubles are just the cheapest little things on the black market, especially when you can plan around an entire secret rebellion and buy one in advanced.
This guy even has some strength to him, though not as strong as myself."
As quietly as he could, Reginald reached over to Ellie's body, trying to get close enough to just grab her sword and make one last dash at trying to kill Terrence... to try to do something so that Ellie's rebellion wasn't all for naught.
"At this moment the rest of your little rebellion is being gathered up outside, including that Burt Curtis in communications, all of them being thrown into the brigs until I can think of a punishment for each and every one of them.
But that Vin isn't so lucky, little Ellie just helped send her away to where she would never be heard from again.
And the rest of the Toppats are going about their day, not knowing that a rebellion that was always going to fail has failed."
Reginald could just barely touch the sword still gripped by Ellie's cold body, he just needed to reach just... a little bit more...
But before Reginald could do anything else, Terrence had turned around, pointing his revolver right at him.
"How cute Reggie, you were going to have one last hoorah in her honor?
While using the weapon of the woman you loved to finally kill me and save the rebellion would be romantic and all, but I have things to do so..."
One final gunshot rang out and both Reginald Copperbottom and Ellie Rose were no more, Terrence Suave standing triumphantly at yet another failed attempt at his life.
All that was known for sure was that the future of the Toppat Clan was all but as good as doomed because of Terrence and his leadership, and that Ellie and Reginald's names would only be footnotes in history.
