A game of ‘who’s more likely to’ moderated by Cat was a pretty safe bet for a VidCon panel. They could avoid the awkwardness of random reporters who didn’t understand the internet and tried to dig into their personal lives, and they knew each other better than most YouTube duos for more reasons than one.
“Well I’d say we know each other quite well then,” Dan concluded.
“Yeah, we’re real friends,” Phil agreed, gesturing toward Dan.
Dan’s eyes flicked to his for one hesitant moment, then unexpectedly reached out for a hug. They hadn’t planned this, and Phil froze for a split second before realizing that no matter how many edits this scene would fuel, it would be even more noticeable if he avoided it.
It was probably a comically distant hug; only their shoulders touched.
They really should’ve planned a better outro.
Still, Phil smiled as Dan pulled away.
