Chapter 1: Kakegurui

Chapter Text

────•⋅⊰༻♡༺⊱⋅•────

St. Dominic's Prep, an exclusive boarding school reserved for society's elite—where prestige is inherited, and futures are forged. But beneath the surface of top-tier academics and pristine uniforms lies the true engine of the school's hierarchy: underground gambling.

At St. Dominic's, students don't just compete for grades or glory—they place bets on everything. Exams, duels, popularity contests, even love confessions—everything is a game. Winners rise to untouchable heights; losers fall into social ruin. There's a board that contains the gamblers' hierarchy. Ranking from the counts of all students to the top where the President of the student council rests. Be below the average rank: You become a house pet. Be at the very bottom? Unless you could pay them back the debt of what you owe then you won't be sold to some rich men or women as a repayment for your debt. Of course the top 10 most contain the student council of the boarding school.

Rules at St. Dominic's are malleable, twisted to serve the interests of those who pull the strings: the student councils. Flexible at best, deliberately manipulated at worst, especially by the student councils who run the scene from behind a velvet curtain of power and charm.

And the faculty? They watch from the shadows. Some turn a blind eye. Others, perhaps, have deeper ties. The administration remains willfully ignorant—or perhaps they're playing their own game. In a place where loyalty is bought and status is won, everyone has a price.

In this high-stakes world, one student will enter the system not to survive it—but to change it. Or be consumed by it.

After all, this one particular student is driven by gambling. Yumeko Kawamoto. Or what they used to call her in japan: a kakegurui

────•⋅⊰༻♡༺⊱⋅•────

The hallways were filled with entitled students, few of them were some with id laces labeled as 'house pets'. The smell of the polished woods and the atmosphere inside the campus was enough to intimidate someone who just stepped foot for the first time. But not Yumeko, no. She was ecstatic by this fancy place. She could feel her blood rush down her veins in excitement.

She couldn't wait to gamble.

"But it's not the classes that could change you. It's the gambling." the tall dark skinned man said, named Ryan. Yumeko met him earlier in her arrival just in the hallway. The next few seconds she made eye contact with him, Ryan didn't know whether to run or to speak to her. Overwhelmed by her beauty, he was frozen: like a deer in a headlight— he couldn't move. He realized he just got his love at first sight: and Yumeko knew that. She knew exactly what he felt towards her, and she didn't mind, really.

"We play with the monthly stipend provided by our parents. The winnings are everything—" he continued as they both walked in the hallway. "And the top 10 get into the Student Council and wear the black jackets. They call the shots." Ryan then sighed on spot, "They control the games, which means they have the edge."

Yumeko listened intently and carefully, eyes roaming around the area, taking in every beauty and familiarization.

"Dori, ADD, freak. Gambled her eye and lost it. Mary, scrapper, cutthroat. Suki, influencer, harbinger of doom. Riri. If Bane and the Terminator had a baby." Ryan introduced one by one. His last introduction caused Yumeko to giggle at her spot, never faking. This made him smile, suddenly feeling giddy beside her.

"And Kira. She's the Student Council President. No heart, no soul. Ruthless. Fall into debt and you become a house pet like me. Forced to serve your owner until you win your way out."

Yumeko hummed, "And the teachers, they're okay with this?"

Ryan tilted his head, "The teachers work for the board. A board is made up of parents who want their kids to tear each other's throats out." he looked at her, "Kira's father, Arkadi. He controls the board. And Kira controls the school by extension, and the games, and... I mean, you'll get challenged to play. To gamble."

To gamble.

Those two words were enough to send Yumeko on her sugar rush. She paused her step and clung onto the sling of her bag tighter in excitement. Her smile then slowly formed, "That sounds fun!" she almost squealed before rushing her way beside Ryan who looked at her in pure shock and panic.

"No! No." his eyes widened in fear. Yumeko paused but her smile never faltered. She saw the terror in his orbs, frightened. "It's war." Ryan declared, his voice almost wavering in a low tone.

But Yumeko only nodded, "Okay." she said slowly with her honey-pooled voice and a smile.

────•⋅⊰༻♡༺⊱⋅•────

Room 217.

Plastered on her card was her room number. Expecting a roommate, she proceeded her way towards the door where a broken tune of a woodwind instrument was resonating or yet... cracking. Yumeko could feel the vibration one door step away. Her lips twitched upwards in the slightest, amused by the first impression even before seeing the person inside this room.

Yumeko turned the knob and pushed through the wooden door, revealing a blonde girl with her uniform buttoned shirt.. fully unbuttoned. Wearing the skirt and a white high knee socks, at least she has her sports bra on.

The blonde girl paused from her practice and said, "You must be the new girl."

Yumeko's smile beamed naturally, "I'm Yumeko Kawamoto."

"I'm Blake Samuels." she said coolly before placing her clarinet down on her bed.

After her intriguing encounter with her roommate, Blake Samuels, Yumeko made her way to the cafeteria. Holding her tray with her own food, she climbed up the stairs only to be met by many students sitting and eating on each wood polished table below a chandelier. The place was luxurious, even smelt luxurious if that's even possible. But one thing that caught her eyes and piqued her interest were the chairs on the very end of the room. A few steps of stairs and you may reach the longest table, sufficient enough for the chairs before it where only a few people were sitting down on.

Interesting.

Her first assumption was that those were the seats for the student councils. She observed a man on his phone, nails long and glittering, way too busy on his phone to notice his surroundings. Then a girl with an eye patch— playing dangerously with a knife, stabbing every gap between her fingers on the table. The loud banging erupts along with the crowd's noise.

"Dori." she muttered under her breath that only she could hear. Her voice toned interest and her lips twitched upwards a little, remembering how Ryan described her and how she lost her eye.

Suddenly, she felt a presence jolt beside her, making her turn her attention. Ryan tensed beside Yumeko, "I-I'm not stalking you."

"Hey," she greeted and chuckled a little. "Oh, If you are, I don't care." she said unbothered. Her eyes darted back to the student council members— only, a few chairs are empty: and that includes the president's seat.

"You wanna sit together?" Ryan asked, eyes hopeful.

"No." Yumeko said simply. Eyes never leaving the student council. Ryan's smile fell, and the light in his eyes shut down by her blunt response. He watched her approach the front of the cafeteria like a predator.

"Dori, no! What the fuck?" a girl on a pigtail yelled beside Dori. She was wearing a black blazer. She's a member of the student council.

Yumeko heard Dori laugh from a distance as she intently approached them. By the time she was in front of the members, the girl in a pigtail yelled for Ryan's name, calling him out with an insult.

"Hold up, newbie." Yumeko heard a feminine voice which came from a guy. Judging from his body posture and movement, and not to mention, his dressing and nails, she knew he was not interested in girls. "What's your name?" Suki asked, leaning on the table.

"I'm Yumeko." she replied softly, her voice sultry.

"I'm Yumeko." the girl on a pigtail mimicked insultingly, but Kawamoto didn't take any offense. If anything, she smiled at her, eyes squinting.

"I love your nails." said by Suki, though his tone did not pass the genuineness, Yumeko's facial expression and kindness didn't fall.

"Thank you." she replied simply.

"Hm." he hummed before finally getting back into his own business and leaned back on his chair. He opened his phone again like nothing happened.

"So... Yumeko, correct?" the woman asked, slowly approaching her confidently. Yumeko nodded subtly. "I'm Mary." the girl introduced uninterested. She stood in front of her, a few inches taller due to the lifted floor she's stepping on, "So, do you play? Wanna play?" She leaned in slowly.

When Yumeko was about to answer, a cold and commanding voice spoke up from nowhere. "Mary. Leave her alone."

When Yumeko turned to her side, she was greeted by those blue cold eyes. Unwavering and commanding. A look that could intimidate the whole crowd. She wore a blue lipstick on her lips as her lips wore that unfriendly smile.

"Sorry, Kira." Mary mumbled under her breath before walking back to her chair.

It was then when Yumeko noticed that there was another girl behind Kira, one who was wearing a mask, entirely covering her face and leaving no detail of her identity. Kira walked closer to observe Yumeko and Yumeko analyzed the president as she took her every predatory step.

"I'm Kira." she spoke calmly, "Student Council President." she stared back into her eyes. Captivating and tempting, but Yumeko knows better than to admire them. There's more time for that but clearly, not now. "Welcome to St. Dominic's, Yumeko Kawamoto." she lets out a cold smile.

"You know my name."

"I make it my business to know everything about everyone. You surely had my attention because we don't get a lot of midterm transfers."

Instead of replying, Yumeko just shrugged with an innocent smile before letting out a small chuckle. "Thank you for welcoming me," she paused, "Student Council President, Kira-san." her japanese accent came out, bowing her head slightly in respect.

Surprisingly, Kira felt her pulse on her neck quickened. She inhaled sharply, eyes never leaving Yumeko's, as well as that cold little smile. The black haired girl's gaze switched to the woman behind Kira, wondering who she is and what role she plays in the student council.

"That's Riri. My sister." The president introduced after noticing what stole Yumeko's interest.

"I like your mask." Yumeko complimented, but Riri didn't budge. Her hands remained behind her back before stepping away and heading up to her chair.

"So, what kind of games do you like, Kawamoto?" Kira asked. She remembered every feature detail on Yumeko's face. How her eyes sparkle like she's seen one of the most worthy prizes, yet how it's mysterious at the same time, as if despite the truth in those orbs that the naked eyes could see, she feels like there's a curtain behind it, veiling the truth the lies before them.

Yumeko's heart ran, "Anything for fun, really." Nobody noticed. Nobody but Kira. She heard how Yumeko's voice lowered a little when she answered, and how she pulled her head down as she stared back into Kira's eyes— and she was sure that something flickered within them.

This made Kira's eyes squint for a moment with a hint of... interest? curiosity? Intimidation? No. Doesn't seem like it. Kira doesn't feel intimidation. She can't be intimidated. Kira Timurov is the intimidation herself. And she sure as hell would be dug six feet under the ground first before she could actually be intimidated by this new girl.

Suki eyed the both of them from his seat. The tension between the two was so yanking it seemed like not only Suki was the one caught by the grip from their staring off contest. Other students, including Ryan from the corner with the other house pets were watching them.

Their stare off was interrupted when Mary decided to voice out, "I challenged her already."

But Kira threw a cold glare towards her direction that made Mary slumped back to her seat again. "Sorry." Mary muttered and looked away with a clenched jaw.

Yumeko observed the interaction and thought about how much power Kira holds inside St. Dominic's. It was.. intriguing and.. Enticing.

Yumeko was starting to like this school already.

"I'll be keeping my eye on you, new girl." Kira threw another cold smile before making her way up to her seat beside her members.

And Yumeko was starting to like the force that Kira Timurov holds.

She just wonders how long it'll last before she makes Kira crack. Now that is a new path of interest that she just might willingly take.

"Yumeko." a hushed voice called out from a small distance. "Yumeko!" someone called out again.

Yumeko turned around and found the frightened eyes of the caller. She grinned, "Ryan." she approached him excitedly, a few distance away from the Student Council table, the tray still in her hands.

"What are you doing?!" he asked in a frustrated yet hushed voice. He looked at her widened eyes as if she was crazy.

"What?" she asked innocently, tilting her head.

"Have I not mentioned earlier? Student Council members are dangerous. Those freaks play like assassins, and no— that's not a metaphor." he eyed her.

"Huh.." was her only response, eyes on the ground while nodding as if considering the thought. Clue words, as if.

She slowly looked back into Ryan's eyes and smiled mischievously, "I appreciate the help, Ryan." she reached out with one hand and brushed an imaginary dust on his shoulder. "But I think I know what I'm doing."

Ryan shook his head and frowned, "You'll get eaten alive. They lie. They cheat— they have no honor. No heart."

From the distance, Kira Timurov was watching. Eyeing them closely, like a predator waiting silently and patiently. Yumeko turned to her side, a subtle move and performance to meet the eyes of the President. Were it anybody, they wouldn't notice that she met the president's gaze. Kira slowly rolled her eyes to the side, looking away from Yumeko.

This made Kawamoto's heart jump all of a sudden. She's thrilled. She only feels this way whenever the word gambling is mentioned, even worse, when she's invited to one.

Yumeko looked back quickly to Ryan, "Concerns noted, Ryan." she placed down her food tray on the table before facing him again. Ignoring all the red warnings. "I'll see you around?" she smiled before making her way confidently and excitedly towards the Student Council table.

He watched her. He watched her walk back to the den of the vipers like anticipated to get a taste of their venom. It's basically like watching someone walk towards their own death.

When Kawamoto reached them, she eagerly slammed both her palms on the table in front of Mary. "I accept your challenge." her voice was low and seductive, as her eyes are too.

The students paused. They all watched her like a lunatic before Mary let out a chuckle while Kira never took her eyes off of Yumeko.

"You're insanely... incredible." Ryan mumbled from afar.

From Kira's seat, she squinted her eyes at her. Trying to figure out what's got this girl Yumeko running like this. What she was up to. But it didn't matter. She's going to fall. And she's going to fall hard to the very bottom. The only reason why she's curious was because this Yumeko girl has no background profile when she read hers after the enrollment.

Mary leaned in slowly, "Then I'll see you later.. Yumeko Kawamoto." she smiled mischievously.

────•⋅⊰༻♡༺⊱⋅•────

"Since you're new here, I'll let you set out the stakes." Mary said from her seat.

Yumeko giggled, "Well, that's very kind of you, Mary-san. Thank you."

Yumeko tapped each of her fingers delicately on the gambling table where the cards and chips were laid. Mary observed her, and her movements— waiting. Finally, when Yumeko picked up a chip, she raised it up and slid it in between her thumb and index finger, revealing another chip from behind. "I bet twenty dollars."

Mary raised her brows, "Fine." She picked up her chips and matched Yumeko's. Placing it in the center. "We'll play skirmish." she added.

Yumeko gleamed with a smile, "Fine." from her blazer, Yumeko took out a necklace that held a unique pendant glossy chip. On the front was written kakegurui in Japanese characters. She took it off and spun it around the edge of the table while Mary distributed the cards.

Yumeko looked around. students were gambling, minding their own businesses, too busy to bluff, to win... to cheat. Then she looked behind her. There, Ryan stood nervously, almost sweating. She gave him a small smile before turning her head back to Mary who was just about done distributing the cards. Then, Yumeko slammed her spinning chip with her palm— indicating that the game had just begun.

She observed her cards, her face neutral for now. She and Mary both slid the card of their pick on the table together. Holding it in place before turning it at the same time.

Round One

Five of spades and Seven of hearts.

Yumeko won.

"Your win. Congrats." Mary faked a smile and chuckled along with Yumeko who delightedly took the chips to her side like an innocent child that Mary thought she could trick.

Yumeko's smile widened, "I bet a hundred."

Mary raised her eyebrows. The first thing that came into her mind was that this girl was sure as hell blunt. She shrugged and matched the height of Yumeko's chips.

Round Two

"You have a boyfriend?" Mary asked while she watched Yumeko shuffle her own cards, thinking on what to pick.

Yumeko laughed in the sexiest way a woman could, "No."

They both placed their cards on the table and flipped them at the same time.

Nine of hearts from Mary, and Ten of clubs from Yumeko.

Yumeko chuckled, her eyes staring deeply into Mary's as she grabbed the chips.

Then suddenly, Mary asked a question nobody would have expected her to ask, "Girlfriend?"

Yumeko tilted her head and looked at her intensely, a small smile crept on her lips. Interested by her humor and ways of entertaining her. "No." she replied simply with her sultry voice. But Yumeko knew better. Mary was trying to distract her. To throw her off the game? To get her out of focus? With this simple game, it'll take a lot to get her distracted.

Mary's gaze then shifted somewhere behind Yumeko, thinking the Japanese girl wouldn't notice.

Got you.

Kawamoto squinted her eyes for a split second, observing the look on Mary's face. Mary was tense at that moment. But she quickly masked that up as she shifted on her seat.

When Yumeko was finally able to figure out what was off, she broke the silence and the eye contact. "Let's raise the wager. Five hundred."

The student council member's smile dropped slightly. Dropping her kind act little by little before she grabbed her chips. She looked at her cards, then back to Yumeko who was eyeing her already. There was something in her gaze. It was saying something yet not enough. And she needed to know— even if she hated to.

Round Three

Queen of clubs and ten of hearts.

Mary won.

Grabbing a chip, she watched her surroundings before slowly looking back to the eyes that suddenly turned malicious. Mary gave her a quick smile. An obvious fake one. The girl wasn't even trying to hide it anymore.

After shuffling her cards, Yumeko slowly slid her unique chip pendant that she had kept since childhood under them, and warily watched the reflection of Ryan's face. A good thing that her chip could reflect clearly as a mirror. She saw him do a hand sign beside his head, thinking he was subtle. But there are eyes at the most times you think there are none.

Yumeko smirked at Mary, her eyes turned predatory. This time, she intentionally showed Mary that she knew something. But Mary was too blinded by her own sneaky little plan to notice it yet.

"I bet ten thousand." Yumeko announced confidently. She made sure it was loud enough and clear for every student in the room to hear. And she succeeded. Silent gasps and judging eyes were received from her surroundings. Yumeko wanted to make sure that everyone would be watching and listening. One by one, most of them stood up from their chairs and approached Mary and Yumeko's gambling table. Including Blake. Yumeko's roommate.

Mary froze, taken aback. That's when before she laughed, "Are you sure about this, newbie? The very first day and you're really trying to aim for that house pet ID, aren't you?" she asked delicately yet her tone spoke something deeper. She raised one brow, cocky yet not amused by Yumeko. She quickly dismissed it and thought that she was just some kind of student who doesn't know what she's doing.

But ten thousand? For a split second that made Mary almost hesitate.

But it's alright. She reassured herself. She wouldn't play a game she knew she would lose.

One by one Yumeko stacked the chips up to their place, her eyes never leaving Mary's orbs as she did.

Yumeko smiled wider, "I appreciate your concern— but I am sticking to this one." her voice was sultry. A honey-pooled voice that captivated the ears of the listeners.

Mary paused. Her mind suddenly began racing with what ifs.  Feeling the heavier tension that shifted the atmosphere, she just sighed and grabbed her chips, "Well, I wouldn't mind owning another pet—suit yourself." Mary shrugged. "Ready?" she asked.

"Mhm." was the only thing that came out from Kawamoto's mouth.

Mary's eyes drifted back to Ryan who gave her the signs after peaking on Yumeko's cards. Mary pursed her lips for a moment before picking a hand to place down. Now she knows exactly which one she's going for the showdown, all not-really-thanks to her house pet: Ryan.

Yumeko kept her smug expression. But instead of bringing down her cards, she swiftly shuffled them before eagerly placing her card on the table causing Mary to startle and match her pace, unready.

Round Four

Both dropped their Aces. It was a tie.

Mary's heart stopped for a moment.

"Ara? No winner." She heard Kawamoto speak. "But let's keep the bet."

Mary then glared at Ryan for a second. "Oh, and if I win—" Yumeko let her hand slap the table and looked behind her: directly at Ryan. "I'll donate half of my winnings to Ryan."

He froze in surprise. Like a deer in a headlight once again, his eyes widened and his jaw fell. Everybody gave her each of their 'What the fuck?' look. Not entirely certain of what's happening and why.

Mary Davis glared directly at Yumeko, slowly leaning on the table, her voice went dangerously low, "What are you up to, newbie?"

But Yumeko only laughed, "I'm just doing my role, Mary. Playing. Fairly." she grinned at her last word. "You know, when you're not certain of your future. Is it a win? Is it a lose? Either way, there's the risk. Right? Mary."

Mary was fumed. She took a deep breath before Yumeko could speak again, "You know what? Since I love risks so much, why don't I..." she placed down her remaining cards on the table, answers on the surface. "...let the future decide my fate? I'll play the rest of my cards blind." Yumeko then gracefully shuffled them on the table while Mary tried to keep her face neutral. She knew Yumeko wanted to get a reaction out of her— but that's not gonna happen.

"So.." Kawamoto stopped and fixed the cards in one line beside each other, "You said I could set the stakes?"she tilted her head. "Why don't we play the remaining hands for..." she trailed and picked up a few specific chips before sending everyone to their surprise.

"One hundred thousand!" she exclaimed. Her voice was dangerous, yet eager. There she was. There goes her hunger for thrill: it was starting to come out. Her show was starting, and she was the host for this entertainment for everyone. And when she said 'everyone'— she meant everyone: Including the Student Council President on the top floor who had been watching for quite some time now. She slowly looked up to see her observing from the balcony, meeting each other's eyes, they locked gaze.

Kira's face remained stoic, but she let out a silent deep breath.

Yumeko looked back at Mary and she played with her own pendant chip on her hand— letting it slide in between each finger of hers. Turning and turning as she swayed her hand delicately. Like a snake watching her prey waiting for the right time to attack. "Whoever loses is a house pet."

Suddenly, Mary's ears began to ring, captivated by Yumeko's chip and hand movement.

When the Japanese girl saw the hesitance in Mary's eyes, she couldn't help but subtly bounce her knees under the table. Her excitement was getting harder to contain.

"One hundred, huh? Alright, Kawamoto." Mary tried to act up, but her gulp didn't go unnoticed by Yumeko who responded with a shaky and airy breath due to the adrenaline rush, "Fun." she began to giggle. Not the usual sweet giggling she lets out, but a different kind of giggling that would throw someone off in this kind of situation.

Mary's lips twitched in annoyance only to jolt in surprise when Yumeko banged both her fists on the table excitedly, "Let's do it!"

Mary felt her heart quicken its pace when she realized that Yumeko was starting to seem like a freak, and not only that, but also the risk of losing and becoming a house pet.

Round Five

King of Clubs from Yumeko and nine of clubs from Mary.

Yumeko let out a tiny sinister giggle.

Round Six

Eight of Spades and six of Spades.

Yumeko won again. Each round her giggles were becoming louder and more sinister.

Mary clenched her jaw. Her grip on her card tightened. While the rest of the students watched in disbelief, some were impressed by this newfound transfer who was playing against a student council, seeming to devour her whole.

Yumeko jolted on her seat excitedly with a tiny squeal, trying to prevent herself from all this rush, and earning a pissed off glare from Mary.

Round Seven

Last Round.

Everyone was tense, far up on the edge. They weren't playing but their heart beats were racing. Blake swallowed a lump in her throat with her arms crossed in her chest, trying not to seem too intrigued.

Kira squinted her eyes at the two players from below with her sister Riri standing and observing as well beside her. It was then she realized that she was glaring at the girl with the bangs, she didn't even realize the grip on the wooden railing was tightening. Kira didn't know what to feel. her pride was pulsing, but she couldn't deny the fact that this was one of a show. However, she's Kira. And Kira never admits things easily like that. Instead, she focused her energy and attention towards Mary. Thinking that if she loses this, she'll become a disgrace for the student council.

Yumeko and Mary finally placed their cards before turning them at the same time, revealing the truth to everybody.

Seven Hearts from Yumeko and..

Five of Clubs from Mary.

Yumeko was finally able to bounce up from her seat along with a maniac squeal and a banging on the table, making the chips jump and stumble, like she's been electrified—the noise residing along with her victory laugh. She felt charged, like a ripped wire thrilling to touch the water just to get electrocuted.

All that was covered by the noise of Mary's yell when she stood up from the chair that was struck down by the force, "Fuck!" she slammed her hands on the table out of anger. A few chips falling off the table. She panted in panic, as if hyperventilating. She couldn't believe it. She couldn't. Hands on her temple, shaking her head and repeatedly muttering the word no.

Yumeko watched her carefully, her sinister smile came back. While Kira gave off a disapproving look. The digital leaderboard then showed Yumeko's name on the screen, showing her win and how much she's won. Along with that, the leader board showed Mary's name dropping down below average. House pet.

Laughters and giggles erupted from each side of the corner of the gambling room. When Mary was about to leave, she was stopped by a man. "This belongs to you now." he reached out the House pet ID, "And technically, you belong to Yumeko."

Yumeko raised her eyebrows and froze at the announcement on spot. Everybody's eyes turned to her, "Oh.. I-I'm not a pet person." she lets out a nervous chuckle. Then she looked at her friend, "Ryan? Would you be so kind?" she gave him a mischievous look.

Mary glared, tears streaming down her cheeks, "You wouldn't dare." she grumbled.

Ryan then smirked at Mary. Knowing that look, Mary didn't need the word of confirmation to know that Ryan accepted that offer.

"Fuck you!" she launched towards him and pushed him.

"My my, Mary... let's uh..." Yumeko stepped forward seductively, "Let's not make a scene." she smiled before nodding her head towards the direction of the second floor. When Mary followed the direction, she saw Kira's disapproving cold glare rolling her eyes at her.

Kira made eye contact with Yumeko who gave her a smirk and a bewitching look. A look that could tempt someone. Like she knows something, and like she knows how to just get into her. Kira's stomach churned, but chose to ignore it and look back at her sister who gave her a subtle nod. Yumeko's eyes were forced to look back to her current floor, when Mary pushed past her and the rest of the students with a mutter, "Fucking piece of shits."

Before Mary could get out of the room, Riri, the vice president, blocked her way. They paused, and Riri lent out her hand, referring to her to give something that doesn't belong to Mary anymore.

Mary Davis scoffed, yet prevented to cry at the same time. She took off her black blazer before tossing it to Riri and walking out of the room.
