“The ancient mummies of Egypt are going to crush the Winx.” Icy said as the mummies surrounded Daphne, the pixies and the Winx. “While we watch from here, all safe and sound.”
Stormy and Darcy laughed, watching the scene unfold. The pixies were backing away, wondering what was the plan. “Oh man!” said Musa. “These mummies are all over the place.”
“Winx, we can handle this!” said the twins with the latter taking out her bo staff and going into her stance. “Any tips, Daphne?”
“Mummies are from ancient times.” said Daphne. “Held together by magical bandages.”
“Those are magical bandages?” Zara asked, feeling a little shocked when she looked over at Daphne. “I thought they had used regular bandages during that time for mummification.”
“They did use linen, yes—but the really skilled priests wove protective spells into the fibers.” Daphne said. “That’s how a body could survive thousands of years without... you know, completely falling apart.”
“Spells in the cloth? So, it’s less ‘bandage’ and more ‘charm’?” questioned Glim.
“Okay…. I don’t think I’ll be able to look at a bandage the same way again.” said Zara.
“Then let's go for their bandages.” said Aisha. “Water Bolt!”
Her spell hits one mummy in its chest, knocking it to the ground. “Nice work, Aisha. Lilac Vortex!” said Flora, her spell hitting a couple of mummies.
“Flora, watch out!” shouted Musa as a mummy aims its bandage at her. Flora dodges the bandage as it heads back.
“Infinite Echo!” shouted Musa, sending a purple sonic vortex and knocking down a couple mummies. The third mummy aims its bandage at the Pixies, causing Chatta to lean back in terror.
“I call upon the element of fire.” said Daphne. “Flame Spiral!”
“Can’t handle the light, huh?” Stella asked. “You’re messing with the wrong fairy. Light Spectrum!”
Stella sends a yellow and pink spiral beam at the mummies, stopping several of them that were coming her way. The Pixies looked up as a mummy towered over them. They took flight and ran from the mummy as it tried to grab Cherie.
“Keep your creepy mummy hands away from me!” Cherie shouted, firing her weather magic at the mummy.
Seeing a cloud forming, Cherie tries again in strengthening it above the mummy as it begins to rain. The mummy punches the raincloud away when Piff goes in to help. Using her magic, Piff was able to place a sleeping spell on the mummy.
The mummy stretched and yawned as it falls back to sleep. “Nice!” said Cherie, proud of Piff when another mummy tries to grab the two. “Nothing’s working!”
“Pixies, I’ve got an idea.” said Chatta.
“What kind of idea, Chatta?” asked Glim as the mummy reaches down and Chatta grabs a hold of its bandage.
“Watch this!” she said and starts undoing the mummy’s bandages. “There’s nothing but dust and dirt underneath these bandages. All I have to do is start unravelling and then, no more mummy.”
The Pixies loved Chatta’s idea as she starts to sing. “Round and round the mummy we go, the pixie pulls the bandage. The bandages, glue, and that’s what we knew! And pop goes the mummy!” sang Chatta, giggling as the mummy turns to dust behind her. “Ta-da!”
“Yay!”
“You’re a genius, Chatta!” said Cherie.
“All right!” cheered Flora, proud of her Pixie.
“You should patent that song, Chatta.” Zara said.
“Yoo-hoo! Mister Mummy!” said Amore, letting out a goggle as she and Piff started untangling its bandages.
“Not so fast, mummy!” said Bloom and Zara, grabbing its bandages. “You’re not going anywhere!”
Kara and Cherie were having fun, giggling as they unraveled another mummy. “This is fun!” Kara exclaimed.
“I’ll take that, thank you!” shouted Cherie, taking another mummy’s bandage.
Chatta, Lockette and Glim had just finished turning a mummy into dust. “He-he!”
“Who’s next?” Glim asked, looking around as Lockette and Chatta high-fived.
“Whee!” squealed Chatta as she destroyed another mummy with Stella and Daphne.
“And that my friends….is that.” said Aisha once the last mummy’s bandages were undone.
“Great work, everybody!” Bloom said.
“We did it!” said Aisha as the others cheered.
“Yeah! Yeah!” cheered Stella.
“It’s okay.” Tecna said to the Trix, releasing them from her digital box. “It’s safe now.”
“Well, isn’t this just great.” said Stormy, turning to her sisters.
“Cool it.” Icy tells her. “We still got Selina.”
Back at Cloudtower, Selina was looking into Griffin’s magic eye. “I’m listening, Icy.” she said to the ice witch.
“Selina……that last attack was pathetic.” Icy complained. “Find something else.”
“Hmm….” said Selina, walking away from the magic eye. “I have to find something more powerful. In ancient Egypt, those who solve the riddle of the Sphinx are saved from its wrath.” She finds the pages and begins to summon the creature of ancient Egypt. “Legendarium! Mighty Sphinx! I invoke you! You are free to spread panic throughout the desert.”
Near the pyramids, the stone Sphinx awakens with its roar and starts moving towards Alexandria. “Cast your shadow of despair over the city of Alexandria.” chanted Selina.
“Huh?” said a woman, looking up as she hears the Sphinx roaring.
“What is that thing?” a man asked, seeing the Sphinx.
“Look!” said another man as the Sphinx towers over everyone and begins its rampage.
“Look out!” a woman shouted, running past a man who was getting out of his car just in time of the Sphinx destroying it.
People screamed and ran in terror as the Sphinx made its way through the city. “Alright, Winx. We need to keep looking for the fairy godmother’s diary.” said Tecna.
“You mean, the needle in a haystack?” asked Musa.
“Okay, you all start in the Egyptian history section.” Tecna said, pointing in one direction.
“We’re on it!” said Bloom.
“I’ll start making copies.” added Zara.
“Hmm….” said Stella as they started searching.
“And why don’t you girls start looking in the manuscript section.” Tecna said to the disguised Trix.
“Selina better get it right this time.” Icy said to her sisters.
“Yeah….” said Darcy, unaware that Tecna was looking over her shoulder. “Those mummies were lame.”
“What was that, Carol?” Tecna asked.
“Huh?” said the Trix, seeing that she heard what they had said.
“Oh no!” said the twins, now sharing a vision.
“Huh?”
Tecna looks over at them, wondering what was wrong. “Bloom, Zara? What is it?” Daphne asked, now concerned.
“Zara…. I don’t like what I saw.” Bloom said to her.
“Now you know how I feel.” said Zara when they then turned to Daphne.
“Something is not right.” said Bloom. “We can both feel it and we both saw it.”
“It’s coming from outside and we all need to stop it.” said Zara.
As the twins lead the others outside, Chatta sees Piff, flying in her sleeping in front of a bookshelf. “Come on, Piff.” said Chatta, grabbing her. “Time to go.”
Once they were all outside, Daphne, the Winx and their pixies saw the scene unfold. “Oh no!” said Bloom.
“Ay-ya!” said Zara.
“Run!” shouted a woman as other Egyptians followed.
“It’s the Sphinx.” said Daphne. “And it’s alive.”
“What is the Sphinx exactly?” asked Flora.
“It’s an invaluable monument built as a symbol for protection.” Daphne explained.
“Let's get out of here!”
“Run!”
“Well, it’s certainly not protecting anyone now.” said Stella.
“Come on, Winx.” Bloom said. “We’ve got to stop that Sphinx.”
“Got any ideas on how?” Zara asked Bloom.
“Not yet.” she tells her as they and the pixies take flight. They all circled the Sphinx when it decided to swipe them with its paw.
“Volcanic Attack!” shouted Bloom, creating a multi-color fire beam.
“Volcanic Surge!” shouted Zara, creating a powerful molten fire.
Both of the twins’ spells hit the Sphinx on the side of its face, causing it to head towards them. “Professor Daphne!” Icy called out, causing the Nymph of Domino to remember her other students.
“My students!” gasped Daphne. “I call upon the element of water! Dome of the Ocean!”
She created a blue water barrier around the Trix, protecting them from the Sphinx. “Please! Please help us!” Icy cried out in a fake tone, as she and her sisters smiled.
“This is way too easy.” said Darcy. “Loving it.”
“Hey Sphinxy! Keep up the good work.”
The Sphinx continued its rampage on Alexandria. “Ready sisters?” asked Icy. “Time for some fun.”
The Trix then created a dark magic barrier, stopping several Egyptians from fleeing the scene. “Help us!” said a woman as she and several others were now frozen. The dog looks over at its owner, then runs up to the Sphinx, barking at it for what it did to its owner.
Stella gasps as the Sphinx walks away while the Trix giggles behind her. “I’ve got this.” Stella said, seeing the dog. “Total Eclipse! Ah!” Her yellow and pink energy beam frees those who were frozen as the dog’s owner rushes to get her dog.
“Let’s get out of here!” she said to her dog, picking it up and taking off.
“Over here, big guy!” shouted Aisha as she and Daphne tried to get its attention while Icy growled in anger.
“Oh yoo-hoo!” Stella called out as the Sphinx turns around to follow. “Over here!”
“Hm…” said Selina, flipping through the pages of the Legendarium and stopping on Acheron’s page.
“Selina! You must work harder.” demanded Acheron.
“Huh?”
“You have to stop the Winx from finding the diary.” he tells her. “If you don’t, I could be locked in the Legendarium forever.”
“But Acheron….” said Selina. “I don’t know where the diary is.”
“I do.” said Acheron. “I’ve had plenty of time to spy on the fairy god mother all these years.”
“Hm…..heh-heh.”
“So I will teleport you to where she hid the diary.” Acheron tells her as he teleports Selina to Alexandria. “It’s in deep in the heart of the library. In a secret, hidden chamber.”
“What do we do next, Winx?” Aisha asked as the Sphinx fires its attack at the Trix.
“We’re going to lead the Sphinx away further into the desert.” said Bloom. “Let’s get him away from these people.”
“And how are we supposed to do that?” asked Stella.
“Got anything red that you can shine some light through?” asked Zara, then gestures to the Sphinx behind her. “If he’s anything like a domesticated cat, he’ll be able to follow it all the way out into the desert.”
“I don’t think so.” said Stella.
“Then follow me and Zara.” Bloom said, as the twins take off. Daphne and the others followed suit, causing the Sphinx to look up for a moment before continuing its attack on Alexandria.
“Winx, all at once!” said the twins, raising their arms above their heads as they and the Winx created their Bloomix Convergence spell.
Their convergence spell hits the side of the Sphinx, causing it to roar in anger. Stella starts to whimper a bit when she bumps into Tecna. “Whoopsie.” she said, apologetically.
“Stella, stay focused.” said Tecna. The Sphinx then decided to chase after the Winx.
“Its working.” Musa said, looking back.
“Over here, Sphinx!” Aisha called out, wanting it to follow them. “Thata boy!”
“They’re moving the Sphinx out of the city.” said Lockette.
“All right!” said Glim.
“Quick, lets help them.” Daphne said to the pixies as they followed the Winx.
“Hm…new location, same show.” said Icy, laughing.
“Bloom, Zara! He’s right on your tail!” shouted Daphne, going after the Sphinx and her sisters.
“Keep it moving, Winx.” said Aisha.
