Chapter Text
"Jack? Jack!!" Is the last thing he remembers.
Cold...was all he felt.
It was piercing, it was all consuming...it was lonely...
Those are the first things he remembers.
Ocean water moved a body around, it's destination was to be submerged into the icy dephts, to die alone and forgotten.
A movement from the bottom made everything pause...piercing blue eyes stared at the slowly sinking body.
Was it pity that made those eyes soften? Was it something from above telling them that this corpse was worth saving? Only the Bewilderbeast knows.
Once the body, cold and alone, reached a piece of ice to land on, the dragon stood atop the waters...starring.
Before it let out a cold breath, frost and snow landing directly on the body of the boy. His hair turned white, the tips of his fingers blue.
And he woke up.
Alive.
Good, the beast thought, it was right in the end.
Those eyes were kind.

"What do you think, bud?" Hiccup asked, showing the new map he sketched to the Night Fury.
The dragon simply tilted his head to look, giving a soft nod after "Yeah, that's what I thought too."
Five years of peace had passed since Berk and the Dragons made peace, alot of things had changed for the better in the world that was their island...all but Hiccup in his humble opinion.
He was still hidding like a kid after all, mapping out new lands was just an excuse to scape his father's talks, avioding him was the only way to not talk about his role as future chief of Berk after all...
He leaned back with a sigh, stretching both legs before looking back at Toothless "How long do you think before they send Astrid to look for me?"
"Well, you're wrong 'cos it's not Astrid!" "Hi Hiccup!!"
Turning his head around, he smiled. He should have guessed the girls would come for him eventually.
A Crimson Goregutter landed on the stone, and from his back two women walked down. One with fire red hair, green robes and leaders adorned her form. The other wore a corset and ridding boots acompanied by a lavender dress, her hair was long and golden, braided into a massive braid that almost touched the floor.
Merida and Rapunzel, two of his best friends.
"Hey girls—" He tried to stand up, before being knocked down by a flash of green hitting him directly on the face, he pulled the Terrible Terror by the scruff and squinted at him "And hello to you too, Pascal" The green dragon stuck his tongue out at him and Hiccup could only sigh, before turning his head to the Crimson Goregutter "Good day Angus." The dragon gave a soft grunt of aprooval.
"Hehe~ C'mon, up!" Rapunzel said, offering both her hands to help Hiccup stand (He, of course, agreed), Merida looked at him with her arms crossed "Ya' know what I'm gonna say, right?"
"Lemme guess, dad's looking for me to give me the talk again?" The red head gave a slight snort "You bet!" She walked past him and sat the cliff edge, Raps following her and sitting besides her as Pascal curled up around her neck "We came looking for you before he sent Astrid to pull your ear..." The blonde said, before patting the stone besides her, motioning for him to sit besides her.
With a sigh, he did as he was asked.
Merida smiled, looking at the other cliffs and their colorful trees "No wonder you ran to hide here...the view is incredible!" She motioned to the horizon.
Hiccup smiled "Yeah...it is" Not looking at the reddening sky...but at his friends.
Merida was his childhood friend, daughter of one of the founding families of Berk alongside his own, Faerghus was quite the explosive man, and his wife Eleanor was very strict, but that never stopped Merida from being a wild spirit, a hunter by nature and a fighter by spirit. When Hiccup first met Toothless she found out about them and demanded she taught him how to befriend a dragon! She even tried to defend him from Stoic when the truth came out...
Rapunzel was one of the newest people in Berk, being found on the remnants of a ship at the coasts of the island a year ago, she explained a few things about her home, mostly the fact she had a very strict family and she was running away from those who made her feel trapped, she kickly became good at apothecary work and has been helping Gothi with her 'crazy witch shenanigans' (the twins call it that), she is as sweet as she is adventurous, and she loved how Berk was at peace with dragons and adores going on flights despite not having a dragon of her own!...besides Pascal. She became a great friend to Hiccup due to them drawing and sketching their scaley friends, she is a good listener and really caring...
He loved these two alot...
It was only when he heard the annoyed gruff of Angus that he snapped out of his thoughts, the dragon had pinned down Toothless "You really never get tired of annoying him, bud?" He asked with a groan and the Night Fury just made a noise with a happy nod.
Both girls laughed at that, only after Rapunzel spoke "I think it's time to go, Hiccup."
A sigh scaped his lips "I know, I know...wanna ride with Toothless this time?" He extended a hand to her.
The blonde giggled "Only if you go super fast!" She took it, extending her own hand to Merida who also stood up.
"Alright lad and lass" Merida made a mock bow "Let's go home"

Hunting down dragons was not easy work, but whatever kept the boss from punishing them was good, or at least thats what Eret (son of Eret) thought.
They were loading their last trap onto the ship, they had a nice haul of dragon to give to Drago upon their return "He should be pleased!" He exclaimed to his men, who all cheered.
The cheering was loud enough to hide the sound of foot steps along the railing of the ship.
"Oh I don't think he will~"
Before anyone could turn around a shard of ice was shot at Eret's direction, barely able to avoid it as it frosted the wooden wall behind him.
Mist formed up around the ship, soon he heard his men screaming one by one, an ambush! Dammit! He pulled up his axe and charged into the frey...only to find all his men knocked down on the deck, a thing layer of ice coating the entire ship "...What?"
"Not a 'what', Babe" He felt something cold at the side of his neck, another ice shard probably. The hunter scoffed "I don't know who you are, but we work for THE Drago—"
The intruder scoffed "I know I know, I'm gonna die a slow death or something of the sort, right?" The relaxed tone on his voice was almost flirting with death itself. There was a pause on the stranger's talk as he hummed before grabbing Eret's belt loop, the keys—! "I'll be taking these, if you don't mind"
"You're gonna regret this—" "I think that's your line, bud" The man chuckled before finally making himself known to the Hunter.
The last thing he saw before passing out was a flash of white hair...and piercing blue eyes.
"Alright, that's everyone..." The blue eye'd stranger said, a soft chuckle spreading through the mist as he played with the keys.
"Tine to get all of you out...and break this ship to bits~"
