Chapter Text

Cap Kingdom - Location 

"Reviewing.... Bowser threw me off his ship... Did he take Princess Peach? He did....I need to rescue her, Bowser said something about marrying her..."He thought as he woke up, hearing an annoying sound in his ears, when he opened his eyes he saw a...Boo?

This sneaky boo had his cap on!

"I need...My hat...and...After that, find out how to get back to the Mushroom Kingdom... Then... Talk to the friends in town, to get information... and go rescue Princess Peach..."He thought, as he abruptly stood up and the boo walked away scared, he had to chase him, he needs his cap, he loves his cap, he doesn't know exactly why he needs it but he knows he needs it.

He managed to reach the boo, who seemed....Relax once they arrived at a destroyed village, he told Mario some things, and Mario agreed to help.

"I have my cap... I need... Help here... Then... I'm going to... try to get the...ship... And go back to the Mushroom Kingdom.... then get information.... To rescue Princess Peach.... and this boo's sister...." He thought as Cappy put on his cap.

Shortly after, the boo told him to throw the cap at something that seemed to have a very long wire.....

Cascade Kingdom - Location.

He found himself in this place with Cappy, looking for a ship... Cappy kept mentioning it but Mario couldn't remember the name.

They landed and Mario soon started doing everything as fast as if he were in some kind of...race against time, although really it was,Mario doesn't want his beloved Princess Peach to have to marry a tyrant like Bowser.

He found a dinosaur, which with the help of Cappy managed to possess it temporarily and found power moon that they needed.

 After getting enough cappy he forced him to go to the Odyssey, although Mario still does not remember the exact name, nor does he remember his parents' name, nor his brother's, at least not all the time, Although he does manage to remember them when he sees them and needs to remember.

They entered the Odyssey although Mario really wanted to look for more moons, so they won't need more moons in a wile ...But Cappy kept insisting. 

Odyssey - Location (On the way to Sand Kingdom)

"So... If we want go together to find... The Princess Peach and my sister...We need to work together " Cappy said, excited, happy that he will be able to rescue his sister, although he had to explain some things too much, it seems to him that humans are slow to understand...Or maybe this human was just slow.

"We found the ship..."He muttered, staring into space, before smiling at Cappy so he wouldn't get uncomfortable or feel bad."We need to go to the mushroom kingdom" he assure Cappy, but he noticed Cappy laughing slightly.

"No, Mario, we need more power moons! Besides, we need to go through other kingdoms before we can simply go. There's nothing to do in that kingdom for now." 

"I understand...." Mario really didn't understand why this was necessary, but he agreed. He couldn't just leave the others unprotected. Princess Peach told him that heroes save people.So if he wants to fulfill what he promised his beloved, he has to save the others too... " Let's-a goo" Cappy looked at him strangely at wht he said, or rather how he said it, this embarrassed Mario...

Mario doesn't like it when people look at him strangely for things he says or does, it makes him uncomfortable, the attention on him, as a hero, is normal, but I don't like it when people criticize his habits... or abilities... or body, Since now he can switch bodies with others thanks to Cappy...

"uh..." Mario nodded, and looked out the window. 

"We're going to the sand kingdom! Let's stay calm looking for the moons, there shouldn't be much problem, there are many there, about 60" Cappy assured, smiling calmly. 

"ok....Sand....Sand Kingdom" He looked out the window, he didn't like this "heroes have to do this, save those who need saving, and for that i need...I need this ship to fly...and for that we need...Moons, lots of power moons..." He thought, looking out the window, while Cappy looked at him curiously.

Mario made sure to look for moons as soon as they set foot on the sand, it was curiously cold, even though it was a desert, he preferred....The order, so he followed the first thing on his list of priorities, obtaining power moons...

He got 46 moons before reaching the inverted temple, after the battle he had 47, then he started looking for the rest of the moons, the Odyssey detected that there were more moons, so he looked for them... he found 61...Didn't find the other 8...But it was okay, after so many dilemmas, he stayed at the top of the inverted pyramid.  

"Hey Mario, the time is-"

"Yes, time is running out, let me think, I need to think, Cappy" He asked, as he looked at the village, and then at the hidden oasis... 

""All of this... is beautiful... Can I move in here? With... With my brother? It's beautiful... I want him to see this..." He thought as he looked, with something bothering him in his chest."But the princess needs me to stay close... Otherwise what if Bowser kidnaps her? I force that feeling, that spark of fire that was beginning to be born, passion and longing, to go just turn off, The world needs him, the kingdom needs him...to stay close, As much as he loves other kingdoms, he needs to stay in his own, so he has to return.

"Well! cappy,Lets-a goo!" He ran to the Odyssey and put the power moons on it.

Inside the Odyssey.

Mario stared out the window again after talking to Cappy.

"He seems to like to think and admire... What a sweet man!"Cappy thought, before simply sleeping a little before reaching the next kingdom.

"oh dear Mario"Mario read in a low voice "I am your dear friend, Princess Peach, I am writing this letter to remind you again that in case I am kidnapped, as a hero it is your duty to save me from my captor, if you do not do it, or you refuse to...Well, I won't pay you again, and I'll also exile you and your brother, because a hero shouldn't betray the kingdom" He muttered, reading the letter he had kept hidden since it was the last one Princess Peach had sent in the form of a threat, it was only the first 3 years of his service...

"Hey, Mario, we're arriving at the-"

"I know Cappy, I know... That kingdom is like a beach, right?"

"Yes..."

Chapter Text

Mario can't complain about anything; his life has been very good so far.....

So why does Mario feel that his life has been of little or no use? Always rescuing others? It's good, but it feels... empty.

He hasn't felt anything for anyone in a long time.

A life full of unwanted adventures, of not being able to see his family, definitely of crying at night simply thinking about everything he could have done faster, everything he failed at, everything that... needs improvement.

He didn't want this life, he wanted to be at home, simply to lock himself in his room, to think, to think about how strange everything was, how everyone moved in sync with others.while he was out of rhythm,Simply pretending to keep up with everyone else, knowing that sooner or later it would all fall apart in front of them, reaching a point where he just...It breaks and spills everything it has held... Nothing, the empty jar, simply... nothing 

"Mario, it's nighttime, we should leave."

"Okay...lets-a-go...To the next kingdom" 

"Mario, you sound...Off."

"Oh, sorry, I just got really caught up in my thoughts, thinking that Peach must be sad being trapped with Bowser. "He said, but inwardly he thought Something like "How silly of she, I wish I could end up like that, To be catered for in everything I want and to have everything I could possibly want, cared for someone who loves me And that would do anything to see me happy-" Well, until he did what That's what he was thinking, and he simply looked in the closet, searching for something to wear, but he only changed Cappy's appearance.
