Chapter 1: Where am I?

Chapter Text

“STUPID AUTHOR, STUPID BOOK!”

Dead. Dead as soon those words were said. Shen Yuan's final words were for the very book he hates, cursing it to his final breath.

[Activation Code: “Stupid author, stupid book”]
[Automatically triggering system…]

“What..?” That voice was that of google translate. She Yuan looked around. It was like he was floating in an imaginary space, a very dark and empty space.

The voice came from nowhere, echoing in the abyss: [Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Important things must be said three times! Welcome to the system!(^∇^)]

Shen Yuan looked down as blinding blue lights appeared in the dark abyss.

[This System operates in line with the design concept “YOU CAN YOU UP, NO CAN NO BB”; we hope to provide you with the best possible experience. It is our sincere wish that during your time, you can fulfill your desires and, in accordance with your wish, transform a stupid work into a magnificent, high-quality, first-rate classic. We hope you enjoy!]

Shen Yuan looked down at the space, that screen no longer visible but his eyes are still adjusting. His brain, circling with thoughts. Shen Yuan took a deep breath, he processed the situation and told himself to calm down and find information about his current circumstance.

“System, where am I?” he asked to the abyss.
[Host is currently in novel: Proud Immortal Demon ways! Bound Role: no name, servant boy. Timeline: Shen QingQiu is currently the head disciple. Starting B-points: 100.]

[Host’s body is currently doing groceries for his masters.]

[Wishing Host good luck! ^o^ ]

“Great. Just great!” Shen Yuan was just about to curse the system when clouds circled around him, rendering him speechless and a bit panicked.

“...kay? Hey! Wake up! Can you hear me?”

Shen Yuan abruptly opened his eyes. In front of him was a concerned old lady speaking something he can’t quite muster up. Shen Yuan took a look around his surroundings and realized he was on the ground. With that thought he quickly rose up to sit, only to make the pain in his head even worse, which he hadn’t realized until now.

“Boy, listen!” shouted the old lady, which made Shen Yuan snap out of his thoughts and flinch involuntarily.

“Yes!” Shen Yuan shouted. The old lady just looked at him with an annoyed and concerned look.

“Are you alright?”

“Yes.”

“Are you sure? Because no one faints on the grounds and feels alright.”

“Yes, I feel alright, thank you for worrying about me but I must go.”

“Very well, don’t loiter in front of my store again!”

“Yes!”

With that Shen Yuan stood up and, remembering what the system said, scurried off to buy the food for his masters.

Returning back to the mansion with the guidance of the system. Shen Yuan reminisced about his day and how chaotic it seemed. He also took note of how short he has become. When he was at the fruit stand he could barely reach the fruits. The fruit seller had to help him pick them out. Granted, it costed more because of that. The money, the old body belonged to, was wasted but he could always make more.

Right..?

Anyways, he asked the system more about the condition the previous owner had. Turns out, he was the child of a servant who got pregnant by her employer. She died at childbirth, heartbroken the father took him in, in the disguise that he wanted the woman to pay her debt. His wife and children knew better but they weren’t going to say anything to their lord, so when the father wasn’t looking they took out their frustrations on the child. The wife would make him do chores then complain it wasn’t good enough and made him do them again. The older son would make snide remarks, make the other servants eat his meals. The older daughter would mock him for his "feminine" features and dress him up. The younger daughter would treat him well, being too young to understand what her father did to their family.

Honestly this sounds like the backstory of a third-rate revenge story Mc.
Ha, how laughable.

He stood in front of the wooden door of the estate, dreading the moment he walked in, he would get bombarded with words of how late he was. Not like they'd care, they just want an excuse to punish him.

He took a deep breath and slowly opened the door, bracing himself for what comes next.

Currently Klein is in the forgotten lands, sitting on a pile of rubble. This is his first time here, after his victory against Celestial Worthy, the prophesied apocalypse, the outer gods. While they were rebuilding, he suddenly felt exhausted. He then told everyone that he wanted to be alone for a sec. He wandered aimlessly, not looking to go to a particular place, just slowly wandering. Until he stayed in a certain place.

Chernobyl, not exactly his home, just a remnant of the pre-epoch, his era, where his home was.

Maybe…

Maybe he could finally have a relationship with the Tarot Club, a true relationship.

As he was pondering, he suddenly saw a spark in the mist of all the rupture. Curious, he stood up and went towards the place where he saw the spark.

There he found a jade pendant.

Confused, he picked it up. Wondering why a jade pendant of all things would be in Chernobyl, Russia of all places. Only for a dark force inside the pendant, sucked him in.

Everyone felt it, the disappearance of The Fool. They panicked, searched high and low for him. Their beloved fool was gone.

Klein felt a sharp pain in his head. The pain was unbearable, it felt just as when he first transmigrated into Klein.

No…

Don't tell me

Klein took a look into his surroundings. There was a horse beside him, he was on the ground, people were coming towards him on horses, and there was a rock with blood on it.
‘Yup, I did transmigrate, yayyyy.’ Klein lampooned. From what Klein could tell, he was probably riding the horse, fell down, hit his head on the rock, and died.

‘What a quick way to die,’ Klein lampooned.

The people were coming closer. Klein suddenly felt the memories of the previous owner’s body washing through his head. He fainted, as they arrived.

“Tell me, Xiao Mingrui, does your head still hurt?” the doctor said

“Yes,” Zhou Mingrui lied, “ but I’m really strong! I can take the pain!”

“Good, Good. I’ll let you rest for a bit while I bring medicine, OK?”

“OKAY!” Zhou Mingrui said in a childish voice.

The pharmacist finally left, leaving Klein with his thoughts.

He still had the serifah castle, his characteristics and uniqueness, they were just weakened for some reason.

During his sleep the people took him to the local pharmacist to have a look at him. He later realized they were his family. With the memory of the previous owner he took account of his current situation.

His family runs a small farm on the outskirts of Ancient China. He is a nine year old peasant boy. He has the same name as him. He has an older brother and a younger sister, just like Klein Moretti. His mother died giving birth to his sister, but his father still lives on. When they were about to ride horses, little Zhou told them he wanted to ride alone, that he was ‘big’ now and didn’t need to be treated like a baby. Amused, his father let him ride alone. ‘A really dumb idea.’ They were riding slowly, when a snake suddenly was in front of little Zhou’s horse, little Zhou not knowing how to calm down the horse, made the horse move faster until Zhou fell down and died.

Honestly, his father was irresponsible, why would he let a nine year old ride a horse, sure they were going slow and the brother was secretly holding onto the horse and they couldn’t foresee that happening because there were no snakes native to this region.

‘What was a snake doing here anyway?’ Zhou Mingrui thought.

Then he heard a robotic voice beside him.

[Hello]
