Chapter Text
[Hello]
Zhou Mingrui startled, immediately turned his head towards the sound. A blue screen, a system!
[Welcome Zhou Mingrui, Klein Moretti, Mr Fool, Lord of Mysteries]
Klein quickly figured out that this thing was the one that brought him here.
“Hello, I must ask why did you bring me here?” Klein asked the system
[I need your help.] Before Klein could ask why, the system then said.
[I’m a new system, my task was to bring people into this world and let them fix the mistakes that were made in this world. Scared that I may upset the audience, I decided to bring a ‘transmigrator’ who has been brought to a ‘different’ world before, to help the people fix the mistakes in this world.]
Klein processed the information, he had a million questions. He knew this wasn’t the only reason but decided not to comment on this, instead he asked, “If you wanted a seasoned transmigrator, why choose me, personally? I’m sure there are others with more experience, more knowledge of what to do.”
At this the system went silent. For a moment, you could only hear the people outside, the nurses and patients talking about their conditions, carriages of rich men rolling down the streets. Then the system answered.
[You were the closest]
An excuse, a flimsy excuse, a ridiculous excuse. Klein couldn’t help but sigh. ‘It seems that this thing won’t answer truthfully’, Klein grimaced. Klein then looked at the system with a bored expression.
“If you won’t answer truthfully then I won’t help”
At that, the system panicked for a moment, then as if remembering something, it quickly put words on the holographic blue screen.
[If you don’t help you will be trapped here, you won’t be able to return back to your original. You won’t return back to your precious tarot club again. Weren’t you thinking of making amends with them for lying to them? Weren’t you thinking of becoming true friends with them? Help my transmigrators and I'll return you back.]
Hearing that, Klein quickly studied the system. It was true, the door characteristics were weaker than the fools and marauders, it must’ve been the system's interference. Klein narrowed his eyes.
“Alright, I’ll help, just let me do this my own way” Klein spoke in a calm voice
[Mr. fool, please I think you don’t seem to get it, you have to do as I say]
The system seemed to get more iniquitous as Klein spent on talking to it. Klein, remembering what the system said a few seconds ago, said, “Then I’ll make even more mistakes in this world, I can fool just about anything. Just because they’re weakened doesn't mean I can't use them. Now, I did say I was going to help, didn’t I? Don't make me anger the so-called audience.”
[...]
[Fine, do as you wish. Just follow the missions i send you]
Klein smiled, but he couldn’t shake this feeling that the system won’t let him do as he liked.
[Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Important things must be said three times! Welcome to the system!(^∇^)]
!!
[This System operates in line with the design concept “Plant melons, get melons; Plant beans, get beans” ; we hope to provide you with the best possible experience. It is our sincere wish that during your time, you can fulfill your desires and, in accordance with your wish, transform a stupid work into a magnificent, high-quality, first-rate classic. We hope you enjoy!]
‘The system appears…diferent?’
[I am just a stem from the original! I am your personal system. I’ll give you your b-points, missions, and other things the main system is unable to do because it’s busy]
“So you're its assistant in a way”, Klein eyed the system.
[Yes! \(´∀`)\ ]
The pharmacist then opened the door, bringing his family in. Klein, who forgot where he was, flinched. His family walked towards him worried about his condition. As Zhou Mingrui was surrounded by his family, the doctor explained the details of his conditions to his father.
“It's a miracle he even survived the fall” the doctor said, “but it seems he would act a bit… different.”
‘No way, Is he saying I might have brain damage???’
Hearing this, his father inhaled and put a shaky hand on Zhou Mingrui's shoulder. His father asked, “Is it permanent?”
The doctor put on a sad expression and said “We don’t know if he will recover. From what we see, he seems fairly fine, but the wound in his head told a different story. I suggest if he does anything different or says anything concerning, you should inform me immediately.”
His father nodded slowly, clearly devastated, and looked at Zhou Mingrui with grief. He hugged Zhou Mingrui tightly. Zhou Mingrui looked dazed, this was the first time someone had actually hugged him, a sincere hug, in a while. He awkwardly hugged his father back not knowing how to reciprocate it. His father misinterpreting it as him not knowing what was happening buried him even more. ‘I might not have died from the fall, but I sure am going to die from this suffocation!!’ Klein lampooned. Zhou Mingrui tugged on his father's shirt quietly telling to let him go, his father reluctantly let go.
The doctor let them go seemingly not worried about the injury inflicted on his head. An irresponsible doctor really.
[It’s for plot convenience]
Klein used his clown abilities to not flinch at the sudden appearance of the system.
Klein sighed and kept looking forward towards the path to his house.

Shen yuan laid on the cold floor of his room. His stiff bed was beside him but was too exhausted to continue moving. It was as he expected, the wife made him do the dishes four times because she claimed it had stains, then she made him clean the restrooms twice all four of them, and then made him hang the bed sheets outside, there were fifteen sheets, FIFTEEN. The young master made him skip his meal because he was late. That was only because he was busy with the restrooms!! He didn’t even have time to rest when the young miss forced him to shower so he could try on a few dresses she wanted to wear but she didn't know if they would fit. At least the second young miss was kind enough to hand him a piece of candy for his hunger.
So there he laid, exhausted. This was the most work he ever did! System! I want a refund!! Seeing no reply Shen Yuan sighed. This body's father was currently on a business trip so he wouldn’t be here for about a week. Shen Yuan dreaded the thought, a week of working until his tormentors are satisfied. Shen yuan wanted to curl up but everything hurted, he was simply too tired to move right now. Shen Yuan closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep
—
The next day Shen yuan had to do the dishes after breakfast, he ate this time! But when he had the get more dishes, the young master tripped him, making some of the dishes he held break. He was punished to say the least. Limping he bumped into the madam furious she slapped him and made him wash her dirty clothes three times to fully get rid of the stench of him. Which doesn’t make sense, why have him wash them when she didn't want to have his scent or whatever. Really, a third-rate novel, I'm telling you.
He then did some chores the rest of the servants were doing. The young miss then forced him to go shopping with her, making him hold the items she bought, It was like 4 hours of torture, by the time they arrived it was dinner time, they only severed him a small fraction. At least he ate, he did some more chores with the help of the other servants. Shen Yuan felt that he was already getting accustomed to this role, it may be because of body memory.
Before Shen Yuan knew it a week had passed and the master had returned. Then servants were lined up to greet the master, Shen Yuan was last in line. His father’s eyes lit up when he saw him. To others, this seemed like favoritism towards him, but to him, Shen Yuan didn’t know why he got goosebumps when he saw that expression. This was clearly the expression of a father seeing his children after a long time, right..?

[Host, it’s been a month, you should go ahead a meet up with the transmigrators]
Zhou Mingrui, who was happily feeding the chickens, suddenly felt bitter as he heard the system's words. He turned to the system and said, “You said the main story doesn’t start until I don’t know a few hundred years from now?”
[Host is correct, but host should start cultivating now to be able to live that long]
That’s right, over the past month the system has told him more about this world. It seems there were demonic beasts everywhere and cultivators, he was basically in a wuxia world. The system said that the “main character” of this world isn’t even born yet but once he’s born he will grow up in a depressing manner, his mom dead, his adopted mother dead, his shizun will torment him as well as his fellow cultivation brothers, then he will fall into the abyss, a place where demons live apparently, and it’s where his dark side will show, he puts his shizun to jail and kills him, gets revenge on his cultivation brothers and anyone who wronged him, he merges the three realms and becomes a lonely emperor with a harem.
It's no wonder why the second transmigrator hated the novel so much, all that just for the main character to be miserable. It would make an interesting plot for a novel, if it wasn’t just straight up porn. The author really just needed the money, huh, that's so real.
[Host, when will you leave this place and start your journey?]
The system chimed in, making Zhou Mingrui snap out his thoughts. Zhou Mingrui walked out the chicken coup, and thought carefully.
“Does it need to be now?” Zhou Mingrui looked at the farm, it was peaceful, he didn’t want to leave it.
The system, as if sensing his thoughts, said
[This isn’t a slice of life.]
Zhou Mingrui was shocked to say the least, but continued.
“No, it isn’t, but it's nice savoring the good things before the bad things come.” There was a small gentle smile on his face. Zhou Mingrui thought of Benson and Melissa, he regretted he didn’t spend as much time with them as he liked.
[Host should begin his journey to Cang Qiong Mountain]
The system so stubbornly said. He was right! It didn’t let him do whatever he wanted. This was what he gets for agreeing to a deal with no contracts. Sigh…
[If Host won’t begin his journey within three days, drastic measures will be taken.]
Oh?
[Mission; Leave the farm and begin the path to cultivation in three days. Penalty for failing; demon beast invade the farm, leaving you no choice but to run away]
[Accept mission? : Yes or no]
Zhou Mingrui’s eyes darken. This was not what he was expecting. He clicked no, expecting nothing and he was right, it didn’t do anything. He complied and picked yes, the screen was gone. Zhou Mingrui sighed and looked back at the farm. He still had two days why not spend it with his family, before he ran away. They would be devastated, but it wouldn't be his first time he left his family to protect them. Klein reassured himself that it was about protecting them, to put his mind at ease. Klein remarked that he has had more humanity ever since he arrived into this world.
“The system sure is desperate.” Klein lampooned, “I wonder why?’
