Power Rangers Dino Charge - Riley’s Version

Summary:

A retelling of Power Rangers Dino Charge through the lens of Riley Griffin (my favorite character). Riley is canonically gay and has a crush on Chase for the majority of the series (search it up, it’s true), so this fic expands on it. You can watch the series as you read along with this fic.

(Also, for those of you who want an actual completed story, I try to have the chapters have their own ending. That way you can still read a chapter and still feel pretty satisfied. Hopefully that'll encourage more people to read. Totally fine if not.)

Chapter 1: What Will Be Happening

Chapter Text

Told in third person, but mostly around what Riley experiences

Trying to stay as faithful to the original series (fic starts from the second episode since Riley wasn't in the first one)

Chiley will be canon/endgame, even when sometimes it will seem otherwise *cough cough* Kaylee *cough cough*

Will prob skip/zoom past a lot of action scenes, monster convos, and plot points unless they are relevant to Riley

Will definitely be a slow burn, only getting together at the VERY end

Sometimes can have explicit thoughts from Riley but nothing bad

Will have to fill in plot points sometimes (like where they live in Amber Beach and some of Riley’s history)

Will have some unique character interactions that aren’t explicitly mentioned in the show

I’ll post when I can (depends on my school and athletic workload)

Please enjoy!

(Some brief history before we get to the actual story)

Griffin Ranch spread across acres of lush, green land. Ran by the Griffin family, it was first founded by Samuel Griffin in 1937 and is now run by the current eldest son of the Griffin family, Matt Griffin.

Riley Griffin, the younger of the two, never had a passion for the ranch. The pig pens, the fences, and the smell of animal excretion. It never brought joy to his life. Although he would reject the ranch life, he loved his family very much. That’s all he really had when Tom Griffin, his father, passed away.

Matt has been there his entire life, trying to push Riley to be more efficient at running the ranch. Riley never felt malice from it. He knew it was out of love. His mom took his father’s death the hardest, but she never let it stop her from taking care of her two precious boys. Rubik, his dog, became his best friend. He was always next to him while he ate, cleaned the pig pens, and secretly practiced his swordsmanship. His dog even became his home screen.
