Chapter Text

It is a time of legend.

The Long Night is over. Interstellar civilizations of old, shattered by centuries of barbarity and isolation, rise again to re-forge what was lost and surpass ancestors' glory.

Vast armadas of the New Citadel roam the galaxy, restoring ancient mass relay network and re-discovering long-forgotten worlds. Its brave soldiers march forth to smash evil shadows of receding age. Brutal tyrants, demented monsters and power-hungry witches are cast down and wiped from the face of history.

The dawn of a new age of prosperity and enlightenment for all beckons.

Gleaming citadels of marble and gold celebrate the many victories of the Great Crusade. Triumphs are raised on a thousand worlds to record the epic deeds of soldiers, sailors, engineers, diplomats and scientists who put broken galaxy back together.

At the forefront of this titanic effort stand the primarchs — magnificent beings of mysterious origin. Miraculously appearing in the galaxy's darkest hour, each is a great leader and an unstoppable warrior. Pledging themselves to the New Citadel's noble cause, they have sworn to see the galaxy restored.

Chief amongst the primarchs is Horus, called the Glorious, the Brightest Star, architect of a new age and instigator of the Great Crusade itself. He is the Warmaster, the commander-in-chief of New Citadel's military might, liberator of a thousand worlds and conqueror of the galaxy. He is a warrior without peer, a diplomat supreme.

Yet mysteries — of primarchs' origin, Protheans' extinction and Old Citadel's downfall — remain. For the Emperor's lost sons the search for answers is just beginning...

Notes:

A/N: So, after toying with the idea of Mass Effect/Warhammer 40k fusion on SB and AH a while ago, I've rewritten it (again) and put in new bits (again). This isn’t an actual narrative, but rather a rulebook-style gathering of codex entries, origin write-ups and small stories.

Current cycle of Mass Effect galaxy has suffered through a warp-induced Dark Age which ended with the arrival of primarchs. With no Imperium, Legions or even regular humans in sight, the boys will have to figure things out by themselves…
