a summary of phainon’s insane career as a motogp rider:
- entered the premier class when Damionis, Titus, and Fabio were in their prime. he was considered a baby since he was the youngest on the grid
- immediately wins the world championship title in his rookie year
- won 2 championships with Venerationist, the strongest team on the grid at the time and left to join Nousporist, a dying team that no one had hopes will return to their victorious days
- proceeds to win another 3 championships in nousporist
- also became the first rider in 15 years to win 5 championship titles in a row (he broke this record too btw)
- nousporist nicknamed him “deliverer” because he literally delivered the team to victory once again and he’s been loyal to the team ever since
- (this is a joke but not really) he basically sent damionis, titus, and fabio into retirement because he keeps “stealing” wins and championship titles and gave them no chances at winning anymore
- media started calling him Flame Reaver as a slander name because they weren’t happy that this kid who came from nowhere joined the grid and “stole” the big names’ passion and spotlight
- slander name goes so hard phainon reclaimed it and released flame reaver merch the following race weekend
- he made a name for his aggressive style of riding on the track, doing whatever it takes to secure his victory (hes a total sweetheart off track tho!!!)
- had a nasty crash in his 7th year which had to force him to sit out for the rest of the season to recover, did a testing in a formula 1 car with THE gnaeus and actually beat gnaeus’ record by 0.783 seconds
- returned to nousporist after his recovery hiatus and won another title ??? (has a total of 7 titles by now and is the most decorated rider of all time)
- 2 riders died in a season (rip) which caused a media uproar and claiming that motogp was too dangerous to continue and the council should cease all funding and end the sport immediately – phainon rallied all the riders and supporters and started a campaign against the council who were pushing for the shut down (you can read more here)
- motogp suffered a loss of interest with the public after the incident so phainon started to bring in theatrics for victory celebrations to make the sport look fun again (massive hit!!! so many kids grew up wanting to be a motogp rider bc of how “cool” phainon looked when celebrating his wins)
- funded a racing academy for young riders who dreams to be a motogp rider in the future which he regularly visits
- currently in his 15th year in motogp and is fighting for his 12th title, which means only 3 years in his total career did he not win any championships, 1 of them because of a recovery hiatus. which is fucking insane, respectfully. talk about DOMINANCE

MARCH 7th: How are we feeling this weekend, Phainon? Feeling any nerves yet? Are you confident that you will once again remain victorious and be the reigning World Champion of MotoGP?
PHAINON: Oh, we’re already starting with a difficult question, I see. [Laughs] Well, I’m in a great condition this weekend. I’ve spoken to my team, and we’re all very positive. Of course, it’s quite daunting when your biggest competitor is just 2 points behind you so I cannot afford to make any mistakes. But, we’ll see. This sport is always very unpredictable, but it’s what makes it fun.
MARCH 7th: Can we also address the elephant in the room?
PHAINON: Hm? [Confused smile] Go ahead!
MARCH 7th: It is a very known fact that you are always at the Formula 1 paddock when fate allows it, specifically in Mydeimos’ garage. Any announcements that we should keep a lookout for in the future..?
PHAINON: [Laughs] Oh that! No– I mean, we are very good friends, really. We met a while back through a mutual friend and we’ve hit it off ever since. I’ve always been a huge fan of F1 so, of course, I wouldn’t say no if Mydeimos invites me to hang out when it doesn’t clash with my races.
MARCH 7th: Aww… So we won’t see Phainon on WAG duty? [Laugh]

PHAINON: Hello everyone, Phainon here. With me, I have a very special guest, a 2-times Formula 1 World Champion… Mydeimos!
MYDEIMOS: Hello, I’m Mydeimos.
P: Beautiful introduction. Simple and straightforward, no?
M: Move along, Deliverer.
P: [Laughs] Right. As we all know, Okhema is very famous for its bathing culture. The people take their baths very seriously. And so, here we are at Marmoreal Palace.
M: What are we actually doing here?
P: That’s… a good question. Are we just taking a bath? Because that doesn’t seem like a challenge.
OFF SCREEN CREW MEMBER: We’ve prepared a series of activities that would test your knowledge and endurance. The first one will be how well you remember the tracks that you often race on.

SETTING: A TABLE SET UP WITH DRAWING MATERIALS LAID OUT. PHAINON SITTING ON THE LEFT, MYDEIMOS ON THE RIGHT
P: Woah, what do we have here.
M: Obviously, things to draw with. [Mydeimos rolls his eyes]
P: Aren’t you just a ray of sunshine?
CREW: Your first challenge is to draw the Okhema Grand Prix race track from memory within 30 seconds. Blindfolded.
M: Blindfolded?!
P: [Laughs] What? You’re not confident?
M: [Glares at Phainon] Says who? I’ll beat you.
P: You wish, My-dei.

M: How embarrassing, Deliverer. Your drawing is not even comprehensible.
P: This is just a practice round—

SETTING: PHAINON AND MYDEIMOS ARE BY A BATH, THEY’VE CHANGED OUT OF THEIR TEAM UNIFORM INTO SWIMMING SHORTS AND COMPRESSION SHIRTS
CREW: The next challenge is simple, whoever manages to get the other into the bath first wi—
M: NO—
[Mydeimos breaks into a sprint. Phainon chases after Mydeimos. Phainon grabs Mydeimos by the waist and throws Mydeimos over his shoulder, running back to the bath and drops Mydeimos into the water.]
P: I win! [Laughs loudly]
[Mydeimos stands up, fully drenched and a scowl on his face. The water making his shirt and shorts cling to his body. The already tight shirt now shows off the lines of Mydeimos’ abs clearly. Phainon is obviously staring.]
M: HKS. Help me out.
P: Huh? Oh, yeah, okay.
[Phainon offers his hand out. Mydeimos takes his hand and pulls Phainon towards him, making Phainon fall into the water. Mydeimos laughs in victory.]
M: And now we’re even.
P: I never expected you to play dirty, Mydeimos—!

CREW: Going to our actual challenge, we’ll do a test of endurance. You will enter the hot bath together and you will have to stay in there until you want to give up. Whoever stays the longest inside wins.
M: [Smirks] I will easily win this. You don’t even stand a chance.
P: Don’t get too cocky.
M: I’m a Formula 1 driver, Deliverer. I drive in high temperatures for 2 hours regularly.
P: Hmph.

CREW: We have some questions for you to pass time.
P: Oh, fun!
CREW: What is your most memorable win in your career?
P: Ooh… I think it’s definitely my first win in the premier class. In my rookie year, I was battling with multiple world champions. No one would’ve thought that a rookie would win his first ever race, but I did. And that itself gave me confidence to fight for the championship.
M: I remember that, I watched the race live, actually.
P: No way? Really?
M: Yeah. It was in Janusopolis, right? I watched it with my friends when we were still young. I remembered watching you win, then all my friends were in awe and thought you were so cool because you won against 3 world champions on your trail. And in the same year you became the world champion too which inspired us, really, to want to become a racer.
P: Aw… You make me feel old. What’s your favourite win?
M: Styxia, 4096. The race that I won my first championship.
P: Ah, always a classic. Must’ve been a whirlwind of emotions.
M: Yeah. It’s common knowledge that my parents were great racers in their own right, so the media have always had high expectations of me. Of course, I wanted to win, become a world champion, but not because I was the son of my parents. During my first few years in Formula 1, the team wasn’t doing great and I wasn’t able to compete at my best which was even more frustrating. So winning the title that year meant a lot to me.
P: You’re really amazing, Mydei. You’re an incredible driver, best of the best. Your worth isn’t based on your parents legacy, alright? You are a man of your own.
M: So are you.

M: Feeling alright, Deliverer? Looking a bit pale there.
P: I’m fine…
[The scene changes. Phainon is laying face flat on the floor, his left arm pointing towards Mydeimos’s general direction. Mydeimos is standing, arms crossed proudly.]
CREW: Mydeimos, you are the winner of this challenge, and the overall winner today! Phainon, are you alright?
P: [Muffled] Ice bath!

“Phainon” is not his real name. it’s a lost media now ever since cyrene purged her social media accounts but there was a video once she was filming and was saying “of all names you could have adopted, you picked phainon” which phainon rebutted with “it’s a heroic name!!!”
that was so long ago, maybe 2 years into phainon’s career in the premier class which leads me to believe that “phainon” isnt his real name and “kas” might be part of his real name.
(this also means that phainon trusts mydeimos and his friends enough to tell them his real name which says a lot about the nature of their relationship but i dont want to get into that right now)
phainon has always spoken with a bright tone in front of cameras which was what cultivated his sunny character but in this video, u can hear hear phainon talking in the background where his voice is actually way deeper than what we always hear:

just my thoughts but i really dont think phainon and mydeimos are “soft launching” each other? not saying that i don’t think they have something going on but i mean it in a way that they give me the vibes of “private but not a secret” if you get what i mean?
other than the presscon at the okhema gp when phainon was saying they were just good friends, they never really talked about their nature of relationship even tho the media tries to dig answers out of them. (i also firmly believe that phainon was just fucking around bc he is a liar and he lies—)
theyre also appear at each other’s races way too often for a couple that would be soft launching. in fact they dont even bother trying to hide if they visited which i find deeply hilarious
idk, to be fair they’ve only started showing up to each other’s races like 3 months ago so we dont really know exactly when they met and stuff yk? but theyre clearly very comfortable with each other’s presence in a more intimate way than platonic. (and theyve only recently started posting each other on their accounts so i hope us fans freaking out wont scare them back into hiding 😭)
but even more than anything, im glad that they found each other in this motorsports world where people get with each other for clout and status, regardless whether they are platonic or romantic

JANUSOPOLIS GRAND PRIX — POST RACE PRESS CONFERENCE
Q: First of all, congratulations, Phainon, on your twelfth championship title!
PHAINON: Thank you!
Q: I imagine it’s quite an emotional experience for you. It was a tough battle out there on the track, too. Can you take us along with what you felt when you crossed the finish line?
PHAINON: It’s a rollercoaster of an emotional journey, I’d say. It was really stressful during the beginning of the race, Phedes and I were just constantly overtaking each other and the bike wasn’t responding to me how I wanted it to. And when I finally crossed the finish line, all I felt was relief. I thought to myself, “It’s finally over” and I was just really happy to end the season with no broken bones. And watching the video that the team prepared for me just reminded me just how grateful I am for having such a wonderful support system. I would say I am very privileged to be able to compete for 15 years in the sport, and to be able to win as many races and championships. It’s truly a blessing. One that I am very grateful for. It’s a feeling that I want to remember for sure.
Q: Wonderfully said. Phedes, how about you? How was your race?
PHEDES: Oh man, I thought I was going to explode from the nerves. [Laughs] It was a great battle. I kept repeating in my head to not make any mistakes because the last thing I want to do is crash both of us out of the race again.
PHAINON: Then I would’ve automatically won the championship.
PHEDES: But you wouldn’t be happy about it. I wouldn’t be happy about it either. And I wanted to fight! I wanted to fight till the very end and I’m very happy that I got to do just that. I’m very happy for Phainon, too, for winning the title. It’s an amazing feat and no one else could do it but him. I’ve learnt a lot from him this season. Next year, I will do my very best to win.
Q: Sounds like you’re all fired up for the next season already! Theopis, what about you?
THEOPIS: Ah my race was quite boring, no? I was just enjoying the battle in front of me, I can’t lie.
Q: Front row seats?
THEOPIS: Yeah, exactly! I had front row seats to one of the most exciting battles this season and I enjoyed it a lot.

PHAINON: Actually, before we end the press conference, can I make an announcement?
Q: Of course, go ahead.
PHAINON: [Smiling sadly] It is with a heavy heart that I announce that this season will be my last season in MotoGP. I would like to take the time to thank all the fans that have supported me throughout all the years of my career. My team, my teammates from the past and present. I wouldn’t be here without all of them. I am very grateful to every single one of you that have stood by me through all these years. I officially announce my retirement from MotoGP, effective tonight.

MotoGP POST RACE SHOW
CICERO: Today, we will bid farewell to a MotoGP legend. He started his career by winning right here in the very city of the Passage Titan. Today, he put an end to his career here in the very same city by winning his 12th world championship title. Some would say he is simply closing the gates of Fate that he had opened 15 years ago. Did Phainon plan this? Or was this simply written in the book of Fate? Who knows. But what we know is that Phainon has cemented himself in the world of MotoGP as a legend. He is an idol to young riders. He is a mentor to his peers. And, he is beloved by all. Phainon will be a name that no one will forget.

phainon retiring and his friends and mentors all being at the gp to support him…. this is no spontaneous decision, he really planned it all. him saying “its a feeling that i want to remember” in the presscon all makes sense now, he knew he was going to retire even before he won the race has begun (for ref: mydeimos’ interview of him saying that phainon threatened him to come)
there is really a poetic beauty in phainon starting and ending his career at the same track. he’s went full circle

MYDEIMOS: Well… There isn’t really much to say. The team has been trying to fix the car as much as they possibly could. I try to give as much feedback as possible to improve the car. We are working together.
Q: How will this affect your fight for the championship next season?
MYDEIMOS: I mean, it’s too soon to even discuss it. I haven’t even won today. Leonnius could very well win the title today, too. On top of that, the car for next season is still in development. Who knows what would happen? I’m not a priest of Oronyx.
