The masked anbu lowered into a crouch in response, a predator poised for the kill. Silence stretched between them, both her and the dog-masked shinobi frozen in place, reading each other’s every shift in breath and weight.
A deep, monotone voice replied, “Your fate was sealed as soon as I caught your scent.”
Her silver hair, lit by moonlight, swayed out of her face with the wind, revealing her chuckle, “Oh please, where’s the fun in that? Unless you want to make it your FUNeral.”
