Summary
Jane Eyre has just escaped a religious cult. When she arrives at Hallowscross College on a rain-swept day, she is a day late, soaked to the bone, entirely alone, and haunted by her trauma and memories. At 23, Jane hopes to remake her life, but Hallows is not a sanctuary. Its MFA program is ruled by an insular circle of poets, invite-only salons, and a lecturer whose brilliance and charisma have made him legendary and, thus, potentially dangerous to Jane: Edward Rochester. She is drawn into Rochester’s orbit and into a world where devotion easily turns into obsession.
