Chapter Text
"Deku! Get your ass over here!" Hisashi shouted from the living room, summoning Izuku.
Checking his surroundings, Izuku saw Hisashi laying on the couch, which seemed to have sunk under the sea of bottles. He also noticed the various escape routes and how he could easily use a beer bottle as a weapon if needed. However that wasn’t needed if he didn’t anger Hisashi so he responded, ”Yes Hisashi?”
Of course Izuku stuttered - he always did. Izuku never minded it but Hisashi did, and the difference between stuttering and not could be the difference of life and death for Izuku, as Hisashi already hated him for being useless.
Hisashi replied loudly and aggressively, “Be useful, Deku and grab me a beer! I can’t have you acting like a Deku even though you are one! And I told you to stop stuttering so fucking do it!” Izuku nodded before leaving quickly, even the slightest amount of hesitation could be his downfall.
He entered the kitchen trembling but he still went to the fridge and grabbed a couple cold beer bottles from the dragon-like stash. Obedience is the one thing to keep him safe. Going to the living room, he offered the bottles out and tried not to stutter when blurting out the words, "Here you go, Hisashi-sir." Luckily he was successful - he didn’t want an angrier Hisashi.
Hisashi snatched the bottles out of his hands and snarled, "Fucking finally, Deku! Took you forever, now get out of my sight! I don’t want to be around a stupid Deku any more than I have done!“
Izuku then hurried away to safety - out of the dragon’s clutches.

Agony. That was the one word to describe Izuku at that moment. He was engulfed in a sea of red as punishment for pissing Hisashi off. It lasted for a measly couple seconds but also for eternity. Fire danced and rejoiced, savouring Izuku's torment.
-
Izuku never forgot about that day. He never forgot about that punishment. He never forgot.
One thing that helped burn the moment into his memory was the scars he received. They were all over him, excluding his privates and face as he realised to cover them with his hands.
However he also had been learning how to heal burns from Kacchan, so the scars didn’t look too bad in the end and he never got any infections.
But he never wanted to experience that again. He never wanted to feel that agony again. He never wanted to endure that pain again.
Never again.

Izuku was walking home from the library after trying to avoid dealing with Hisashi. He often went to the library because of this and also because the bullies won’t enter the place as it’s too “nerdy”.
However he also got the sense that something bad was going to happen, so he immediately looked around, trying to find some form of danger but he didn’t see anyone. It was strangely deserted. It was odd.
Izuku was walking up the apartment stairs when the feeling worsened. Looking around, Izuku still saw not one single person. It was odd.
Izuku was at the door to Hisashi's apartment when the feeling worsened further. Looking around, Izuku still saw nobody, however there was still one last variable he had previously forgotten, the apartment.
Listening for any noises from the apartment he heard nothing but he stayed cautious when opening the door as anything could happen after all.
As he creeped into the apartment trying not to alarm anyone he started smelling something foul. Trying to find the trace of the smell, Izuku snuck into the kitchen only to freeze at the sight in front of him.
The floor was stained red with blood slowly pouring out of his mother’s head from a bullet-sized wound. She lay still, staring hazily upwards at the ceiling. Dead expression on her face. Dead.
Dead.
His mother was dead and he didn’t know what to do.
Izuku wished to cry but he couldn't, instead he stayed there, petrified, staring at his own mother's corpse. He remembered every time she acknowledged him, the times she helped him treat his wounds and the times she reassured him that it would be okay in the end. Yet it wasn’t okay in the end, since she was dead on the floor of her kitchen.
Izuku always knew she wasn't the best mum but she tried and that was more than enough for him.
Most of all, however, Izuku remembered the first and last present he ever received. Inko had given him a laptop, however it wasn’t just any laptop. It was untraceable, perfect for his hobby of analysis. He knew it must have been expensive, so he was thankful.
The computer was special to him, he knew how much effort it took to be able to get him something. He heard Hisashi yelling about it. He heard the argument. But most importantly, he heard how Inko stood up for him, so he was thankful.
Seeing Inko on the red-stained floor however, made Izuku sad. He wished to cry but he couldn't.
Instead Izuku packed his belongings. He knew Inko would have wanted him to escape so he did. He also couldn’t face Hisashi alone so he slung the light-weight schoolbag over his shoulder and he ran. He left the apartment to finally get away from Hisashi. He was finally free. He had escaped hell.

Izuku had been living on the streets for 2 years but he still caught up on his education. He put his hacking skills (of which he learned when he was eight) to use. He hacked into online school systems and learned from there.
However, due to Izuku's inquisitive mind and generous amount of free time he also skipped ahead on his education quite a bit. This meant he could start high school in April - if he could get in, he was quirkless after all.
As well as this, in Izuku's excessive free time he continued his hobby of analysis often scrolling hero forums to do more. That was when he stumbled across an unknown hero/vigilante. A mystery just begging for him to solve. So he did.
First he examined the photo provided, to help narrow down searches. It was blurry but the stranger depicted seemed to wear a black jumpsuit and utility belt. They also had long black hair and yellow goggles. The figure also seemed to be tangling up a villain, ensnaring them, with a grey scarf still around their neck.
Now Izuku needed to find a name for the hero/vigilante.
However, Izuku's thoughts were cut off by the sound of something happening on the roof above his alleyway. He then saw someone jump over the alleyway to the other roof and realised the person was the same hero/vigilante he was researching. Due to this, he decided to follow them.

Eraserhead was having a break on his favourite rooftop, eating a jelly pouch when he just had to hear something happening a couple alleys down. Well back to work for him - just great…
Surveying the area he saw 2 people partaking in a drug-deal. One with a mutant-type quirk resembling a scorpion tail. The other person had no visible mutations.
After he felt he’d seen enough, Eraser dropped down into the alleyway to stop the dealing. He shot his capture-weapon at the mutant and disabled their limbs from moving. The other person opened the water bottle they were holding. Soon the water started floating towards him. Eraser also saw the water freezing into icicles but one quirked look at the hydro-kinetic villain and the icicles quickly fell, shattering on the ground.
Eraser then smashed the mutant into them, knocking both criminals out. Eraser started tying them up with twist-ties when he surveyed the area once more. He had noticed a kid earlier when he was fighting but he saw they had disappeared.

Izuku had watched the entire fight and thought that the hero/vigilante was so cool! The way they handled the situation inspired him! He however had to leave early before they noticed Izuku was there. He did not want to have to deal with conversation today.
After some investigation Izuku finally figured out some details on the hero/vigilante. He figured out that they're called Eraserhead and that they’re an underground hero. However he wouldn't be able to find out more unless he hacked into the quirk registry or police database and he didn’t want to deal with that mess. So instead, he analysed the fight he witnessed.
