Summary
Another take on Abaddon's backstory.. If you're into that.
Winter is coming early this year. The town has to work quicker than usual to get ready for the harsh season to come. But to Father Abram, it seems like the harder the work gets, the more eager his son is to intrude where he shouldn't. Isaac, his young, sickly son, spends most of his time in the house. His father worries that a meek boy like him is susceptible to evil and illness with his fragile condition. But it seems the harder he pushes him to stay put and behave, the worse things get. After an incident of sneaking from the house, Isaac faces further isolation as punishment, but before he can, he meets a peculiar creature in the yard who claims to want to exchange favors.
Father Abram thinks his son is too weak to survive the outside world, and Isaac wants to prove something small and weak can still be important. A series of unfortunate situations seems to prove everyone in the situation right in the worst way possible.
