They arrive in Corona after the princess and her companions left to follow the trail of black rocks that go all the way up to the capital. Using Varian's alchemy and the Wand of Oblivium they are able to free Hubert and take over Corona.
"Now that the King and Queen are under our thumb we need to be ready for when the princess and her companions, especially Quirin." Hubert says.
"Who's Quirin? Why is Quirin more of a concern than the princess with magic hair?" Varian asks.
"What did I tell you about questioning me?!" Hubert growls.
Varian shrinks back with a flinch and closes his eyes, expecting to be hit. "I-I'm s-sorry Hubert! I-I only ask out of c-curiosity! Honest! I d-didn't m-mean to q-question y-you." he whimpers.
Varian opens as Hubert roughly ruffles his hair.
Hubert has a sharp grin. "Good. Quirin is a retired knight, one far more of a danger to our plans than the Corona Guards. Let the rest of us worry about him." Hubert then looms over Varian. "In matter of fact, when they return you are to avoid Quirin seeing you at all costs no matter what."
Varian nods in terror, to afraid to ask why Hubert doesn't want Quirin to see him. Satisfied, Hubert turns back to the others and continues going over plans for when the princess and her companions return.
