Summary
Nearly ten years after the war, golden girl Hermione Granger is trying to live a quiet life out of the spotlight. Hidden away in the bowels of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, she keeps herself as far as she can from the hallways of ministry power.
But after a brazen and public attack by a new group of dark magic extremists, Hermione is forced out of her self-imposed exile and back into the world of politics, subterfuge and intrigue. The group—led by the shadowy and mysterious Mordred—is threatening to bring Lord Voldemort back to life. Alongside Harry and Ron, Hermione put in charge of a special ministry task force, with the urgent goal of rooting out Mordred’s mole within the ministry.
It is a series of events which will put her on a collision course with her one-time foe and childhood bully, Draco Malfoy. Still arrogant, still snarky, and still insufferably handsome; he’s offered his assistance as a double agent, for reasons he’d rather keep to himself. And so, whether Hermione trusts him or not, together they’re in a race against time to stop Mordred before it’s too late.
