Somewhere in Time

Summary:

Kara Danvers is an award-winning playwright but currently she's got a major case of writer's block. She decides the best thing to do is take a vacation. She gets a lot more than she bargained for when she discovers a connection with a famous actress from the early 1910s. Kara becomes determined to solve the mystery of how she knows her.

Notes:

I love this movie. I was recently shown it by a family member and I just adored it. It's cheesy as hell but come on, it's Christopher Reeves. He's forever Superman to me so naturally I imagined a Supergirl version and here we are. I definitely recommend watching the movie! Be forewarned, the ending is sad!

Anyhoo, I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 1: Opening Night

Chapter Text

The winner of the playwright of the year award was a new author, an unknown yet brilliant woman who had never expected to win. Yet she somehow did, much to the delight of the audience. An old woman observed the celebrating crowd from afar as she sat unnoticed in the very back of the packed auditorium. Her tired, green eyes misted over at the sight of the boisterous blond woman getting swarmed by friends and family. Unlike herself, the blond enjoyed being the center of attention and carried it well. But she couldn't waste time in remembering, she was here for a reason. She took a deep breath and gathered the last of her courage to finally make her approach. The people parted for her and the room went silent with confusion. She had snuck in here after all, nobody had noticed her earlier. But those people mattered little to her. She only cared about one person, her person. The one that had stolen her heart a lifetime ago and had been stolen from her. Sapphire met emerald as the confused blonde offered her a smile. She gently took the young woman's hand and pressed a pocket watch into her palm.

"Come back to me." she whispered.

She quickly walked away, ignoring the ache in her heart when she heard the blonde call out to her. The tears started falling and Lena allowed herself a sad smile. She had completed her mission and successfully set things in motion. It was all she could do, even if she longed to explain. It wasn't the time. Unfortunately, this was how it had to end, at least for the moment. While this may be Lena's finale, it was only the opening act for Kara Danvers. And this time, it would be different.
