   Summary

   Umamusume are born to run, but not all umamusume run free.

   In the midst of the latest tech boom, Kishun Paulownia is an umamusume and yakuza foot soldier whose past is best not mentioned and whose only hope for the future is to find the right chance to get promoted up the ranks of Kanefune Enterprises. Another yakuza family muscling into Kanefune territory might just be that chance.

   But there are other hands at work in the deadly game the yakuza play, ones who see people like her as little more than assets to be used up and replaced. In the darkness of the night, Kishun must use her fists to cut down those who hoard wealth on the backs of others, and chase with her own two feet the horizon of her own choosing.
