Work Text:
Amanda stared down her opponent. Across the ring stood the physical manifestation of her arch nemesis, 432 park ave. The humanoid building stood tall over her, slightly swaying.
The bell dinged, and the match began.
The two of them rushed foreword. 432 park ave swung its large fist towards the smaller human, but Amanda managed to duck under and aim a kick at 432 park ave's ankle. The humanoid building swayed more than it usually did before managing to regain its footing.
It raised it's foot and tried to step on Amanda. Amanda rolled away and sprinted towards the edge of the ring. She climbed the ropes of the ring and jumped onto one of 432 park ave's legs. She grabbed hold and climbed up its leg until she reached its knee. Then, she stuck her finger in one of the humanoid building's microcracks, until the cracks expanded and encapsulated its entire knee. Chunks of white, porous cement began to erode away from the humanoid figure's knee, and the humanoid building started to fall. Amanda quickly jumped off the building and ran to safety. She watched as 432 park ave fell to it's knees, the sound comparable to that of a bomb (or to someone throwing something down the trash chute from the top floor of 432 park ave).
"Noooooo!" cried Rafael Viñoly, 432 park ave's coach. "Get up! You;re supposed to be the marvel of New York City! The tallest residential building in the world! Are you you really gonna lose against a youtuber of all pepplle? Especially when you're only 6 years old??"
Seemingly Invigorated by its coaches words, 432 park ave got back to its feet and faced Amanda. The youtuber raised her fists in retaliation. She rushed forward, yelling. 432 park ave stood its ground, anticipating the blow. However, at the last minute, Amanda side stepped away from the humanoid building and ran around it. 432 park ave turned in shock, trying to keep its eyes on Amanda. However, she continued to run in circles around humanoid building for several minutes. The building swayed to and fro, trying to keep it s gaze on Amanda. Gradually, the microfractures in its foundation started to expand, and chunks of its pristine white cement began to fall to the floor.
"Stop it!" cried Rafael Viñoly, "My building wasn't meant to exist under such conditions!"
"You fool!" cried Amanda, "This is nothing compared to climate of New York City! You built a tower with a shitty foundation, one that threatens the lives of its residents and the pedestrians of New York City! For that, it deserves to die!!"
Amanda reached into her pocket and brought out a remote with a large red button. She stared up at the humanoid building with malice and pressed the button.
A large garage door opened, and a gust of the winds of New York City blew into the venue. The cracks in the building's foundation expanded further, covering the building. 432 park ave's legs shattered. It looked at Amanda with fear. Amanda looked back with nothing but hatred. She watched on as the foundation of 432 park ave slowly crumbled away. Losing support, its windows fell forward and shattered on the floor of the ring. It's mechanical floors crumbled, causing the building to fall straight down. Eventually, the loss of foundation was too much, and humanoid building collapsed, crumbling into a pile of rubbish.
Amanda looked on with pity as her nemesis fell. "You could have been great." she said, "You could have lasted for generations and remained as a noticeable part of New York skyline." She turned her gaze towards the edge of the ring, where Rafael Viñoly was sobbing. "If only they let you be gray."
She turned away and walked towards the exit. Suddenly, she stopped. She turned her head over her shoulder. "Oh well. At least New York has one less eyesore."
With that, she left the venue.
