Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Peter didn't like being touched. When he was little he used to cling to his mother but one day a flip switched, after that he avoided touch when ever possible. It was easier when he moved out, Peter liked the mansion. He may be to old for school (even though he didn't actually graduate) but he enjoyed playing with the younger kids. They reminded him of Lorna when they dragged him to play tag or hide and seek. He hadn't been able to talk to her since he moved to the mansion, he would go see her but he didn't want to go back home. But the students kept him plenty busy.

X-men training was a different story, the others where younger then him. Peter though it would mean they'd respect them just a little bit. But that idea went out the window minutes into training.

"Peter I said go left"

"Since when where you the boss"

"Since-"

"YOU TWO FOCUSE INSTEAD OF ARGUING"

Peter ended up with a twisted ankle during that session. The injury wasn't even the worst part, he was use to injuries, the shit Scott gave him was the worse part.

"Being fast doesn't help in the end I guess"

Scott gave him crap about everything though,

"He dresses like that rebel kid who thought they where cool."

"He's 20 and can't spell better then a 6th grader."

"Has nothing better to do then hang out with high schoolers."

"He's to loud. Does he ever shut up"

Peter ignored him. He'd gotten use to the taunts at school, he was the mutant foreigner. He just didn't expect to get it from other mutants.

Another issues also arose as time went on, Magneto's presence. When he first talked to Raven she told him that he never stuck around long, so after the school was rebuilt he expected him to leave, but he didn't. A month later he was still hanging around the mansion. What didn't help was Ororo trying to force him into reviling his secret.

"Just tell him"

"You can't just dump that on someone"

"And you can't keep putting it off"

She had a point, the longer Peter put it off the more awkward it was. Peter had taken to actively avoiding him when he could, which was surprisingly easy. Magneto didn't try to spend time with the students he spent most of his time in the library or in the garden. The only person he actively sought out was the professor. The two could often be seen walking side by side through the grounds.

"Peter, what did you think the author meant by that?"

Peter looked down at the paragraph they had been given, he had tried to read it but it was in old English. He'd heard the others complain about how hard it was to understand, with English not being his first language it was impossible to read.

"I don't know"

"Jean?"

"Really" Scott snickered "Can't you read?"

"Scott please don't talk"

"Today" Raven said walking towards the group "we will be sparing. Pair up,"

Peter paired up with Kurt, he liked Kurt. English wasn't his first language, he had a strong accent and often forget words. Peter saw himself in him.

"I don't know how to spar zat vell"

"Its fine we can go slow"

The two spared slowly, Peter teaching him some basic moves.

"Good job"

"Danke"

As the two continued sparing a noise caught Peter's attention,

"What the hell"

"I'm so sorry"

Peter turned, Ororo had managed to miss Scott's guard kicking him in the face,

Peter laughed, the joy didn't last long. Out of the corner of his eye he saw a hand moving towards his face. Peter's breath hitched, bringing his hands up to his face. Kurt looked surprised bring his hands down. Peter stood up straight his heart pounded clenching his jaw he tried to keep his panic in check.

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah man, just reflexes"
