Chapter Text
Morrigan chuckled as she saw Davrien and Dorian enter the dining room for lunch that afternoon; judging by how Davrien was walking, and the noises she'd heard, it was plain as day what the pair had been up to.
“Hello, Davrien. Hello, Dorian. I trust the two of you have been making the most of your time together so far.” chuckled Morrigan as one of the servants came around with some wine as the two lovers took seats opposite her at the table.
“Indeed we have. Ah, I see the wine is already being served. Excellent.” responded Dorian as they sat down, Davrien blushing a deep shade of scarlet.
“It is. Is this the latest one from Lady Montilyet in Antiva?” asked Morrigan as the servants began laying out the food.
“It is. She often sends me a bottle of two from each batch. Ah, I see the food is here; eat as much as you like Lady Morrigan, there's plenty to be had.” said Dorian, smiling and glancing over at Davrien whom had already helped himself to some Khachapuri and was digging in with the pleasure; clearly their morning activities had left the elf feeling rather famished. “Hungry, amatus?” chuckled Dorian.
“Mhm. Especially after our... exercise this morning. Breakfast feels like it was forever ago.” replied Davrien, cutting off a piece of the Khachapuri and eating it with gusto. “Mmm... this is the best Khachapuri I've had for a while. Have you acquired a new chef?” asked Davrien.
“I have. The old one retired about a month or so ago; the new one started a few weeks ago, and they've settled in nicely. I have to say, this Khachapuri really is quite something.” replied Dorian cheerfully as Morrigan began cutting off a piece of her own Khachapuri.
“Mmm... I must admit, I can't say ever had the pleasure of trying Tevene cooking before, but this is quite excellent, Dorian. Do you have Khachapuri often?” remarked Morrigan as she reached for her glass of wine.
“Not as often as I'd like, sadly; I like to save it for when Davrien is here so we can enjoy it together with it being vegetarian- it's one of his favourite dishes since I introduced him to it a while back, isn't it, amatus?” said Dorian, unable to take his eyes off Davrien.
“It is. And thank you for arranging it with the chef so we could enjoy it together today, vhenan. It's been far too long since I had khachapuri.” replied Davrien between mouthfuls of the delightful cheesy bread.
“I can't say I've ever had it before. But, I can certainly see why you like it so much now I've tried it for myself. So, what time is it we're meeting Viera tomorrow at the Swan?” asked Morrigan as she ate her meal.
“Around noon; I want to have lunch with her and make sure she's alright; I haven't seen her since before she left with Varric and after everything that's happened, I can't help but worry about her. And we don't get to spend enough time together as it is.” replied Davrien, pausing to take a sip of his wine.
“Excellent; I'll send word before we turn in for the evening.” aid Morrigan as she finished off the rest of her khachapuri.
“Thank you, Morrigan. It's much appreciated.” said Davrien, finishing off his own khachapuri and having a sip of his wine.
“Now – who wants dessert?” asked Dorian, whom had also finished his meal. Even as he spoke, the chef came around with a beautiful black forest cake.
“Black Forest Cake! Ma serannas, vhenan! You know how much I adore it.” said Davrien excitedly, his brown eyes widening with excitement.
“I do. I had the chef prepare it especially for your visit.” replied Dorian, beaming as a servant came around to serve them each with a piece, closely followed by another whom placed a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the bowl with a cake, adding a drizzle of cherry syrup atop the ice cream. Davrien beamed at Dorian happily and threw his arms around Dorian, whom responded by pulling Davrien onto his lap where the two began feeding one another mouthfuls of ice cream and cake and kissing each other. Morrigan smiled and quickly ate her own dessert portion, glad her friends had managed to find some happiness of their own amongst the chaos. Once finished she gave a polite thanks to the servants and Dorian, leaving the happy couple to enjoy themselves, and headed back to the library where she'd found some rather interesting books to read during her visit there earlier, the old Pavus family library being vast and well kept.

Later that day, just as the sun was setting above Minrathous, Davrien and Dorian were once again making love in the privacy of the bedroom, tongues intertwined as they massaged each other's cocks. A sudden roar overhead as they climaxed in each other's hands, a look of both ecstasy and surprise on each of their faces as the thud of enormous wings thundered through the air above.
“I hate to ruin the moment – that was incredible – but I think we may have a problem, vhenan.” remarked Davrien, panting and shuddering as his climax eased off.
“It was – and I think you're right, amatus. Typical. Just as we're having our fun in the throes of our ecstatic reunion, a dragon shows up to ruin our evening. At least, that's what it sounded like.” replied Dorian as they heard a loud knocking at the door.
“Magister Pavus, Inquisitor Lavellan – there's a dragon terrorising the city. And the Venatori are also swarming the city.” came Thailor's voice through the door.
“Kaffas! Thank you for letting us know, Thailor. Get word to Neve Gallus, see if the Veilguard can help at all in taking down the dragon.” replied Dorian as he and Davrien broke apart, quickly wiping themselves down on a handkerchief and grabbing their gear.
They were dressed and down by the front gates within the space of ten minutes – thankfully Davrien kept some of his own armour here. He currently wore a plum set of robes with a black leather bottom, and matching black leather collar with two snakes running around it made of pure gold, and a serpent belt to match. Morrigan nodded at them in acknowledgement as one of the Shadow Dragons came running to greet them.
“Magister Pavus – Inquisitor Lavellan – Viera, a couple of Grey Wardens and Neve showed up to help with the dragon. The rest of us are going to take on the Venatori.” they panted breathlessly.
“Thanks. We'll head out and see if we can't give Viera a hand. Though by the sounds of it, we'll have to fight our way there.” remarked Davrien as he heard shouting in the distance and the clang of metal on metal.
“It does, doesn't it? Well, I suppose we ought to get going and help however we can.” replied Dorian as they saw an enormous red and black dragon go soaring over head, boils filled with blight pulsing under it's hide. The dragon roared and landed somewhere near Dock Town in the the lower city, where they heard more shouting.
“Come on, let's go!” said Davrien, immediately dashing off towards the lower city, Dorian following suit along with Morrigan and the Shadow Dragon that had brought them the message. They passed numerous citizens fleeing the lower city as they ran through the streets. A few buildings had been destroyed by the dragon already, leaving nothing but a pile of rubble in it's wake. As they rounded a corner, they ran into a group of Venatori attacking a nearby shop. Davrien didn't say a word as he quickly hit them with a chain lightning spell, causing the air to crackle with electricity as Dorian used a necromancy spell that left them shaking in fear. Morrigan shifted into a crow and clawed out the eyes of the Venatori nearest to her as the Shadow Dragon hit another with an arrow.
The Venatori quickly turned around to face them, glaring at them with malice.
“The Venatori will rise! For Razikale!” they cried, a couple of them running at Davrien and Dorian with long, red daggers with rather wicked looked blades. Davrien and Dorian quickly glanced at each other, then summoned a barrage of meteors that struck down each of the Venatori. The noise of it summoned even more Venatori as the ground vibrated beneath them from the impact of the spell.
“You will never take Tevinter, you filthy blighters!” exclaimed Dorian as Morrigan shifted back to herself and hit them with a fireball. A swathe of the oncoming Venatori slumped to the ground as the fireball hit them, their flesh smoking as it burned.
“Well, at least that's some of the Venatori.” commented Davrien as he looked around for more.
“It is... kaffas, I didn't realise they'd managed to recruit so many these past few years...” replied Dorian as they stepped over the still burning corpses as they heard more shouting a couple of streets away.
“Clearly they've been recruiting since the fall of the lucerni.” replied Davrien as they fought their way through more Venatori as they made their way to where the shouting was coming from.
“Indeed. And since the rise of the false Gods, they have only grown in number.” commented Morrigan as Davrien sliced the head off a nearby Venatori with his spirit blade.
“That seems to be the last of them for now. Let's go and see what that shouting was all about.” said Dorian. Davrien, Morrigan and the Shadow Dragon all nodded their assent and followed Dorian through the streets, eventually coming out along one of the main walkways that overlooked the area below where Viera and her team were currently fighting the dragon- and appeared to be winning, at least for the moment. Davrien breathed a huge sigh of relief knowing his sister was still alive and well. Dorian smiled too, giving Davrien's shoulder a gentle pat of reassurance as Maevaris came rushing over to greet them.
“Thank Andraste you're here, Dorian! And I see you brought some help. Hello, Davrien. How long have you been here?” asked Maevaris breathlessly.
“I arrived this morning. Lady Morrigan helped me use the old eluvian network to get here so I can visit Dorian and meet Viera tomorrow – if she's still one piece.” replied Davrien, giving Maevaris a warm smile before looking back to where Viera and her team were fighting the dragon, his stomach twisting anxiously as he saw Viera get thrown in to the air by a flick of it's tail- then relaxed again as she managed to land on her feet and hit it with a fireball.
“Ah, you must be the Lady Morrigan Varric told me about. A pleasure to meet you, but I'm afraid further introductions must wait – on top of the dragon attacking the city, of course the Venatori chose tonight to try and take the city for themselves.” replied Maevaris, sighing and turning around to face another group of Venatori whom had just appeared.
“Indeed I am. And they certainly will, seeing as there are more headed our way.” said Morrigan as a group of Venatori mages came charging towards them from a nearby alleyway. They fought the Venatori for what seemed like hours; they kept on coming, without only brief moments of respite in between waves. By the time they finished fighting the last wave, the sun had long since set. Davrien looked over to where Viera was still fighting the dragon with her team – only to hear it recalled by Ghilan'nain, sending shivers down everyone's spine. They all watched as it flew off and disappeared amongst the clouds, panting slightly after hours of fighting. They heard Viera and her team unleash a cry of victor, then they immediately ran off elsewhere. Davrien silently vowed to ask Viera about it tomorrow when they met up at the Cobbled Swan. For now though, everything finally seemed calm in Minrathous. Davrien, Dorian and Morrigan helped the Shadow Dragons clean up the mess before they turned in for the night, quickly undressing and collapsing in exhaustion on to the bed in one another's arms, too exhausted from the fighting to do anything else.

Davrien awoke late the following morning, still wrapped in Dorian's arms. The magister's eyes fluttered open as Davrien gazed up at him fondly, one of Dorian's hands coming up and gently stroking Davrien's ear with a thumb.
“Good morning, vhenan.” said Davrien quietly, smiling and half closing his eyes at Dorian's touch.
“Good morning, amatus.” replied Dorian, smiling down at Davrien where he lay on his chest. How he;d missed waking up with Davrien safely in his arms.
“I missed this... I wish I didn't have to go back after my meeting with Viera later.” sighed Davrien longingly as Dorian continued stroking his ear.
“Me too, amatus. But we'll be alright. Besides, now we have access to an Eluvian, hopefully we'll be able to see a little more of each other.” commented Dorian as he pulled Davrien a little closer.
“That's a good point. I can remember the path Morrigan and I took through the crossroads easily enough too. And seeing as you have an Eluvian right here in your back yard now, I can visit whenever I have time... and you can do the same with me.” replied Davrien thoughtfully.
“Exactly. I might even come and see you tomorrow afternoon once the Magisterium is done for the day.” said Dorian, gently pressing a kiss to Davrien's temple.
“Mmm... that sounds perfect, vhenan. I look forward to it. At any rate we ought to be getting up and go and have some breakfast unless I want to be late for my meeting with Viera. I hope she's alright after the dragon attack yesterday.” replied Davrien, planting a brief kiss to Dorian's lips before getting up to dress, selecting a violet doublet made from velvet, embroider with golden flowers and a matching golden sash around the waist and black velvet trousers. Dorian got up donned his Magister robes and helped Davrien with his hair and prosthesis; he knew the mage was perfectly capable of doing it himself, but he enjoyed taking care of him and the way Davrien would smile at him when he did. Davrien scooped up D'elgara in his arms as they headed downstairs for breakfast, taking their time to dine as a couple, occasionally feeding little bits to D'elgara, making the most of what little time they had together before they had to go their separate ways for the day.
“I promise I'll come back again before I leave for Val Royeaux, vhenan.” said Davrien as he and Dorian stood by the gates of his front yard.
“Good. I want a chance to say a proper goodbye to you- and I want my gorgeous face to be the last one you see before you leave.” replied Dorian, giving Davrien a brief hug. “At any rate, you'd best be off. Don't keep Viera waiting too long, amatus.”
“I won't, vhenan. I'll see you later.” said Davrien, smiling and kissing him before pulling away.
“Not if I see you first.” chuckled Dorian with a wink as Davrien and Morrigan headed off to meet Viera at the Cobbled Swan.
