Chapter Text
It's been years! He's dead. Give it up Brother. He's a mortal.
HE WAS MY SON!
He was going to die regardless!
THEN THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS ALLOW ME TO MOURN!
The God of change opened his eyes for the first time in centuries since his sleep. He sat up.
“What happened?”
He muttered, drowsy. How long had he been asleep? He doesn't remember. He got up… He was in a cave. The god of change intensively knew that. But it didn't seem like it, not with how the place was decorated.
He got out of the rather comfy bed and saw a mirror. His black hair was long and now dragging on the floor a bit. It was odd. His hair had a streak of white…
Why was he here? Who was he?
Grover— What happened to him?!
He—You won't like it—but he exhausted all his mortality all at once to save you all… He ascended or died.
He's not dead.
That's a relief.
But he's in a deep sleep. A really deep sleep… He's not going to wake up for now…
Then… What do we do? His father will be panicking if he knows!
We don't do anything.
What?
We don't do anything. The King will think that he's dead and say so. It won't be our word but his.
Are you sure we should be manipulating the gods like this?
We're not manipulating them. It's their fault they think he's dead. When he wakes they'll be in for a surprise.
Right. but… we don't know how long that will be.
We've done important quests for the gods. They've offered immortality before. We can do it again and gain that immortality!
For him?
For him.
Who were these people? And why did he remember their voices so vividly?? He groaned.
He looked in the drawers and there were scissors. He cut his hair just where he could put it in a ponytail so the middle of his back approximately. Trimmed the hair in front so he could see without it being in his face.
His eyes were green and the sclera was white. He looked very human. Then suddenly his head started to hurt. Hurt? He was a god wasn't he?
Tears formed and fell. Memories of that day 150 years ago flooded in his mind like a tidal wave.
Percy! This is insane! You could die from this!
Grover. It's the only way…
It's a god killer! She could no doubt kill demigods too! You don't even know if this'll work!
I DON'T CARE! I have to try something! Because it's worse than losing more people than I already have! SHE'LL GO AFTER OUR PARENTS! I'm sorry Grover but I have to!
PERSEUS!
YOU WANT THESE DEMIGODS?! YOU'LL HAVE TO KILL ME BEFORE YOU KILL ANYONE ELSE!
His—No. Percy’s eyes teared up more. He had burned his mortality to save everyone. Percy had ascended as a last resort to save everyone. Percy quickly went through the place to find clothes and quickly put them on (a white shirt and jeans, his leather necklace).
He opened the door to the cave. (His room?) The sky and ground were as normal as it could be. No big divine entity took over as he was asleep for 150 years. That's good. Very good.
He looked up and focused. Olympus. And suddenly he was there.
‘At least that worked.’
He saw as many deities were here. Watching and Percy looked where they were looking. Zeus and Poseidon were arguing and seemingly enough it was one of the worse ones too.
“BROTHER YOU HAVE TO AGREE THAT YOU'RE GOING TOO FAR WITH YOUR MOURNING!”
Apparently that was the wrong thing to say as Percy felt the sea grow more restless with its waves.
“Too far?”
His father's voice practically caused an earthquake on Olympus. Wait. No he actually was. Percy focused to quickly repair any damage from the earthquake. At least he still had control over his abilities…
The gods froze. He saw the children (probably immortals) near them freeze too. Seemingly the earthquakes happening were actually a normal occurrence with these meetings… And he accidently outed himself.
“Who did that?”
Another earthquake. But this time Percy didn't fix the damage. He hid himself in the crowd. He saw black eyes staring at him in shock. This'll be fun, he supposes.
“Percy?!”
Everyone paid attention to Nico and as they did Percy ran, the only way he knew how.
Making a fucking entrance just as dramatic.
Percy ran towards the table, jumped onto it and jumped over Nico running. He suddenly hears yelling and more footsteps coming after him. He laughed loudly. Percy’s laughter echoed throughout Olympus and below.
He needed some practice after 150 years anyway.
Poseidon glared at his younger brother. And so did most of the Olympians. Even Athena glared.
“You said my son was DEAD!”
Zeus looked nervous. For once he had an actual reason to be. If there was one god you didn't piss off no matter if you were Immortal or not, it was Poseidon. Especially if it was about his children. In this case his favorite child.
Apollo suddenly spoke up.
“He has a point father. You said Percy was dead. And we all believed you despite the lack of proof.”
Artemis’ eye twitched. She was almost never mad. Upset? Yes, annoyed? Yes. But almost never angry unless it was about the forest, her brother and if something was truly outrageous.
“Yes, if that was not Perseus Jackson I don't know just who could have the audacity to do what he just did.”
Many wouldn't. Not if they had a wish to see Thanatos or one of the Furies sooner than later. But Thalia would be rather pleased to hear this news…
Dionysus fucking laughed.
“OH THIS IS RICH! You all actually thought he died?”
Everyone looked at Dionysus. What was he talking about?
“Dionysus, dear, what are you talking about?”
Aphrodite raised an eyebrow, Dionysus grinned. He'd felt Perseus ascending years ago, the circumstances weren't good and especially not in their favor. The killer of gods had found out about Camp Half-Blood that day and no one knew exactly what to do but Percy was willing to do anything to protect the Demigods like he always was.
Very few knew he had not died but ascended, those people being Dionysus, Grover, the seven and the head councilors and Praetors. Percy had exhausted so much of himself he put himself in a divine coma. (A hassle depending how long it took.)
“That's the new Ascended god of Change and Demigods.”
