Chapter Text
Ben, Hal, and Clark got to the Justice League tower after a bit of flying. The tower opened up and they went inside. They were greeted by Martian Manhunter and Green Arrow.
“Hello, Hal, Clark,” Martian Manhunter said. “We weren’t expecting you guys to show up so sudd-” Martian Manhunter noticed another person behind Hal and Clark. He was red with yellow horns and green eyes, and seemingly had wings as well. “Uh, who’s he?” Martian Manhunter asked, pointing at Ben.
“I’m Ben Tennyson,” Ben replied. “It’s safe to turn back now, right?” Ben asked Hal.
“Yeah,” Hal replied.
“Ok, cool.” Ben transformed back.
“This leaves me with more questions than answers,” Martian Manhunter said.
“We’ll explain everything later,” Clark said. “But right now, we need to warn you about something.”
“What is it?” Green Arrow asked. Hal projected a map with his ring, there was a red dot blinking, and it was slowly getting closer to them. “And what’s that supposed to be?”
“The red dot on this map represents a Yellow Lantern. I was trying to stop a war on Quintera when I got word of a Yellow Lantern heading towards Earth. If I’m correct, they’ll arrive on Earth in about 5 hours, so we don’t have much time to prepare.” Hal put his hand down, and the map disappeared. “We need to warn the other league members.”
“Got it.” Martain Manhunter said. “I’ll go and warn Wally. Having him aware and on guard will probably help quite a bit.”
“Thanks,” Hal said.
“Don’t mention it,” Martian Manhunter replied, walking towards the comms room.
“So now we just warn everyone else?” Green Arrow asked.
“Yeah. Bruce already knows about it and is gonna meet us up here soon,” Hal replied.
“Ok, that’s one member less,” Green Arrow said. Suddenly Hal’s ring started beeping.
“Why’s your ring beeping?” Ben asked.
“I don’t know. Let me check the map again,” Hal replied. Hal brought the map back up and he saw the red dot going faster than it was before. “The Yellow Lantern is speeding up. They might be getting impatient,” Hal said.
“New estimate?” Ben asked.
“2 hours and 13 minutes.”
“They’re going double the speed they were going before?” Clark asked.
“A bit more than double, but yes,” Hal replied. Hal snuffed the map out again, starting to walk towards the cafeteria. Ben, Clark, and Green Arrow followed him. Once they got in the cafeteria everyone in there fell silent. “Everyone, I need your attention,” Hal said. “In approximately 2 hours and 13 minutes, a Yellow Lantern will land on Earth. I have a bad feeling this one’s gonna be more powerful than almost any I’ve faced before. In the case that I’m right on that, we’re gonna need help. If you’re willing to help, make sure you’re there when they land.” They walked out of the cafeteria and started going to other rooms to warn more league members, but then Batman arrived. Batman flew into the tower using the Batwing and he caught up with them. “Oh, hey Bruce,” Hal said.
“Codenames, Hal,” Bruce said.
“Oh, right.” Hal looked at Ben and then back at Bruce.
“Sorry, that’s the second time I’ve called you by that name in front of him now.”
Bruce sighed. “It’s fine.” “Any updates on the Yellow Lantern?” Bruce asked.
“Yeah, they more than doubled their speed,” Hal replied. “They’re gonna get here in around 2 hours and 12 minutes now. I haven’t seen a burst of speed like that in a while.”
“Then we better hurry up,” Bruce said.
“I agree,” Hal said. “I might even call up a few other Lanterns if the situation calls for it.”
“I’m gonna turn on the tower’s defenses, just to be on the safe side,” Green Arrow said.
“Got it,” Hal replied. Suddenly an alarm started going off in the tower, and Martian Manhunter’s voice spoke through speakers.
“I don’t exactly know who I’m seeing on the cameras, I need Hal, Clark, Ben, and Bruce if he’s here preferably,” Martian Manhunter said. The four of them started running towards the Monitor Womb. When they got in there they saw what was on the cameras: a giant dinosaur attacking Metropolis. Ben looked shocked.
“What’s Albedo doing here?!” Ben asked.
"I was hoping you would know who this guy is,” Martian Manhunter said. “Who’s Albedo?”
“He used to be a Galvan scientist, he actually helped make the Omnitrix. But when he was deemed unworthy to wield it himself, he got jealous and power hungry, so he decided to make his own version of the Omnitrix. He called it the Ultamatrix. The Ultamatrix lets you evolve your alien transformations to their “Ultimate” forms, I even used it myself for a while, but then Azmuth, the creator of the Omnitrix, destroyed it and gave me the complete Omnitrix. Unbeknownst to me and the plumbers, he remade it, though I was there when he finally completed the remake. I haven’t seen him since I was 16,” Ben said. “Oh, he also made a direct copy of the Omnitrix, thanks to the Omnitrix being attached to my DNA, when Albedo put his Omnitrix on he turned into an exact copy of me. When our Omnitricies interacted he got turned into a weird version of me, with white hair and a red jacket. So that’s a thing.”
“I imagine you can handle him on your own, right?” Bruce asked.
“Yeah, I think so. But I haven’t seen him in 2 years, so he’s probably more powerful now,” Ben replied.
“Ok, then go,” Bruce said. Bruce gave Ben an earpiece. “Put this in your ear, it’ll let you contact us directly. If you need help just ask.”
Ben grabbed the earpiece and transformed. “Chromastone!” Ben shouted. Ben flew out of the League tower and started flying towards Metropolis. ************************************************************************************************************************************************
“We are coming to you live where a giant dinosaur appears to be destroying Metropolis. We don’t know where it came from, we just know it seemingly dropped from the sky. Now the only question is: where is Superman?” Albedo was destroying buildings left and right, the remains crashing into each other occasionally. All the citizens were running for their lives. Ben descended down from the sky, making sure to be right in front of Albedo. “Ah, Ben Tennyson. I’ve been waiting for you,” Albedo said.
“I bet you have,” Ben said. “Now, how’d you even get here? You’re the second of my villains I’ve found in this dimension.”
“I don’t know,” Albedo said. “Last I remember I crashed on a planet and blacked out.” Albedo transformed back into his normal form. He resembled Ben Tennyson when he was 16, though he had white hair and had a black and red suit on, as well a red ring on his hand. “When I woke up I found myself on a planet called Ysmault. A red ring appeared before me when I woke up, and a few people were crowded around me. A man named Atrocitus walked up to me and started talking.” “You have great rage in your heart, you belong to the Red Lantern corp.” “That’s what he told me, and he was absolutely right,” Albedo finished. Albedo fired off an energy beam at Ben.
“I’m Chromastone right now! I can absorb energy, remember?” Ben asked. The beam hit Ben and he started to absorb it, but it was too much. It started to overwhelm him. The Omnitrix changed him back to human and he fell. Luckily, when he fell, Albedo stopped the beam. Albedo started descending down to the ground.
“For years I bared this unyielding hatred, but I never truly comprehended that fact till recently,” “I tried to ignore it, all this hatred towards Azmuth, towards you, towards the world, but no longer.” Albedo conjured up a hammer and hit Ben with it. “I refuse to ignore my hatred any longer! It is a crucial part of my being and has been for years now!” Ben started standing back up, though he was barley able to. He was coughing up blood and had a black eye.
“Nice speech, you done?” Ben asked.
“I think I got the point across,” Albedo replied.
“Cool,” Ben said, coughing up more blood. “Now it’s my turn.” Ben propped up the Omnitrix dial, selected an alien, and slammed down on the Omnitrix. “Chromastone!” Ben shouted.
“Are you serious? I nearly killed you in that transformation moments ago,” Albedo said.
“If you’re so confident why not do it again?” Ben asked.
Albedo smirked. “Gladly.” Albedo fired off the beam again.
“God I hope this works,” Ben whispered. Right before the beam hit Ben, he slapped the dial on his chest, switched over to Feedback, and started absorbing the blast.
“A Conductoid?” Albedo asked. “I doubt he’ll do much better than your Chromastone transformation.”
Ben started smiling. “You’ll be surprised at just how much this guy can absorb.” By the time Albedo gave up and stopped the blast Feedback had absorbed so much that he had to eject it as soon as possible, so he fired it off towards Albedo. Albedo tried to fly away, but he reacted too late and got hit by the blast. “
AHHHHHHHHH!” Albedo shouted. Albedo fell to the floor.
“Man am I glad for this guy,” Ben said. Ben looked at Albedo. “So...are you dead? Unconscious? I don’t know how powerful your blast really is.”
Albedo started standing back up, laughing slightly. “You fool! As if I would die to my own attack!”
“Ok, so you’re not dead. Got it,” Ben replied. Albedo charged towards Ben, punching him in the chest. Ben flew backwards about 20 feet, and was groaning in pain. Ben transformed back and stood up. “Ok, I’ll admit, you’re a lot more formidable now,” Ben said. “I wasn’t expecting you to be this powerful. But you’re forgetting one key detail.”
“And what’s that?”
“I have thousands of ways to beat you.” Ben slammed down on the Omnitrix. “Mon Ki!”
“You think this guy can do anything to me? You’d be better off using the Conductoid,” Albedo said.
“You’ll see.” Ben powered up. “It’s over Albedo! DECA DOOM CANNON!” A gigantic blast fired from Ben’s hand. It started to make its way towards Albedo.
“I’ll humor you, Tennyson,” Albedo said. The blast hit Albedo in the stomach and Albedo took it. He screamed in pain, though he was still standing.
“You’re still standing after everything I dished out?” Ben asked.
“Yes, Tennyson,” Albedo said.
“Damn. You’re a lot more durable than I imagined.”
“Correct. Now, Tennyson, it’s time to die!” Albedo started charging towards Ben again, but a purple portal appeared in front of him and he ran right into it, clearly on accident.
“Uhh, what just happened?” Ben asked. “Know what, I don’t have time to worry about it.” Ben transformed into Jetray and started back towards League tower. ****************************************************************************************************************************************************************
League tower; entryway. Ben had just gotten back to League tower and was walking back to the Monitor Womb, having transformed back.
“Wait!” A voice shouted. A man appeared in front of Ben. He was wearing a red suit with yellow lightning bolts where his ears are, as well as a lightning bolt on his chest. “You’re Ben Tennyson, right?” The Flash asked.
“Yeah, I am. Why?” Ben replied.
“John told me about you when he contacted me, and I also heard a bit about you from Bruce. Can you really turn into that many aliens?”
“So I’m assuming you’re Wally then,” Ben muttered. “I can, though I haven’t even seen them all myself.”
“I figured,” Wally replied. “I would like to see one though.”
Ben sighed. “Fine.” Ben propped up the dial and slammed down on the Omnitrix. “Swampfire!”
Wally was speeding around Ben, examining the alien head to toe. “This guy looks cool, though you could do without the collar.”
“I can’t control the appearance!” Ben replied. “This is just what a Methanosian looks like after they blossom.”
“A Methanosian?” Wally asked.
“An alien from my dimension,” Ben said.
“I see,” Wally replied.
“Who’s John?” Ben asked.
“Oh, you probably know him as Martian Manhunter.”
“Actually, no one addressed him specifically when I was around.”
“Oh, ok then. Well, let me give you the tour of the tower, I don’t think you’ve gotten one yet, right?”
“No, I haven’t.”
“Cool!” Wally took Ben’s hand and started showing him around the tower, but after a bit Hal’s voice sounded throughout the tower.
“I need everyone to come to the Hall of Justice, there’s something I need to show you guys.”
“Well, you heard the man. Let’s go.” Wally grabbed Ben and sped towards the Hall of Justice. “We’re here!” Wally said.
“Good.” Hal brought the map up again. “The Yellow Lantern has sped up even more. They’ll land on Earth in around thirty minutes.” “That’s quadruple the speed!” Ben said “It is. Ever since I’ve gotten here the Yellow Lantern has sextupled their speed. We’re gonna need to hurry up. I have a suspicion of where they might land, but it’s just that: a suspicion.”
“Where do you think he’s gonna land?” Clark asked.
“Over here.” Hal brought out a map and pointed towards a desert. “Given where they are in space and the direction they’re going in, this is the most likely spot for them to land.”
“Ok, then we go there,” Bruce said.
“Yeah. I’m gonna go there now,” Ben said. “I’ll see you guys in a bit I guess.” Ben slammed down on the Omnitrix again. “Big Chill!” ***************************************************************************************************************************************
29 minutes later. (Ben’s still Big Chill btw.) A bunch of Justice League members were gathered at the desert Hal talked about. They were all standing there, waiting for the Yellow Lantern to land. “They’re gonna land any minute now! Everyone, get ready!” Bruce said.
There was a loud crash nearby and Ben rushed over to it. Ben saw a big crater, and emerging from the crater was Vilgax, dripped out in yellow with a yellow ring. “Well shit,” Ben said.
