Jaskier hummed softly while warming milk over the stove, snow fell outside the window. Branches swayed with heavy snow clinging to them, little birds fluttered about leaving v shaped marks as they pecked the ground in search of breakfast.
Geralt's footsteps brought Jaskier's eyes towards the hall. "Breakfast is just about done love."
"You know I could have gotten up and helped you," Geralt smirked learning forward kissing his forehead.
"I know, but I wanted to give you some time to rest," Jaskier poured the warmed milk into two mugs and a smaller cup before mixing in coco powder. Marshmallows were plopped on top. "Now the coco is done too."
Geralt smiled softly as he took the cups and put them on the table, the smell of bacon and freshly made muffins filled the small house. The smell wafted down the hall and into the room of their little daughter, Ciri. Slowly she crept out of her room, a stuffed wolf in the crook of her right arm. "Morning little one, are you ready for breakfast."
She smiled wide and climbed onto her chair.
"Ciri," Jaskier smiled as he placed a plate in front of her, "would you want to go outside and play in the snow today?"
Her eyes widened and her lips turned upward. "Yes papa!"
"Alright, lets eat up and then get ready to go outside."
Ciri ate quickly, excitement building as she watched the snow fall outside. She offered a slice of bacon to her stuffed wolf that looked back at her with unblinking button eyes. "Ciri, eat your food now, your wolf cannot eat your bacon for you."
She sighed. "Yes dad."
Jaskier smiled softly, sipping hic coco. He loved his little family. Their fair-haired child was nearly six now, and she was perfect. Geralt began to clear and clean plate, Ciri patted the stuffed wolf's face with the napkin then her own before rushing down the hall to get dressed.
"I am going to help her, so she is in winter clothes and not a pair of shorts." Jaskier kissed Geralt lovingly and followed Ciri towards her room.
Ciri waddled out the front door, her face hardly visible over the fluff of her puff jacket. She wiggled her fingers in the gloves. "Papa, I feel like a penguin."
"You're the cutest penguin ever," Jaskier grinned as he took her hand. Geralt followed them out, his feet sinking further in the snow than his husband or child. Ciri continued to waddle around, her boots crunching the snow beneath her.
"Do you want to make a snowman?"
"Can we all make a snowman?" Ciri asked. "You make you, I make me, and dad make dad."
"I think that could be fun, a little snow family?"
Ciri nodded, her nose already slightly red. Geralt began to work on his own snowman, the first layer nearly as tall as Ciri, she was rolling snow beside him, her first layer far smaller. Jaskier chuckled as he worked on his own snowman, Ciri's snowman set between their own. Ciri's snowgirl was just as tall as she was, she found rocks and sticks to decorate. A lopsided grin of rocks was spread across the face of the snowgirl, one large rock and one medium rock were stuck on as eyes. "Look Papa! I made me!"
"You did such a good job," Jaskier praised as he picked her up.
"Dads snowman is huge!" She giggled as she spread her arms out.
"Yes it is," he laughed a bit, "very big."
"Like dad!"
"You're very smart, you know that."
She giggled as she snuggled into him, her nose and ears were slightly red. "Do you want a carrot nose? We can get carrots for you, me and your dad."
"Yes, yes!"
He grinned and placed her down and she began to sprint towards the front door. Jaskier opened the door for Ciri after chuckling at her few attempts to open the door with gloved hands. They walked into the kitchen and Jaskier opened the fridge. Lifting Ciri up he opened the carrot drawer. "Will Roach be upset?" Ciri asked as she grabbed for three differently sized carrots.
Jaskier smirked. "I think Roach will be just fine, why don't you grab a fourth one and we can go feed it to her."
Ciri giggled and reached for a fourth. Placing her back down on the ground she jumped on the puddles of melting snow that had been left in their wake before going back out. "This big one is for you dad," Ciri smiled wide, "and this one is for Papa!"
"Do you get two noses my little wolf?"
"Noooo you're so silly," Ciri giggled as she placed the smallest of the carrots on the snowgirl's face. "It's for Roach!"
Geralt chuckled softly. "I am sure that Roach is just going to love a tree from her favorite person."
Ciri's eyes widened. "I'm Roach's favorite?!"
"You are," Geralt grinned leaning down and plopping a small kiss on her forehead, "just like you are my favorite person, and papa's favorite person."
She giggled as he began to tickle her, her knees gave way and she was soon her back. She tried to use the carrot as a sword as her father's began to tickle and leave smooches on her.
Jaskier piled some snow on top of her before helping her up, the snow tumbled to the ground in piles. "Alright now, let's go find Roach."
Ciri giggled and waddled behind her fathers, they left large imprints where she could put her own own feet. They trudged through the snow till they reached the horse pen, Roach was comfortably wrapped her in winter blanket, eating hay. She trotted up to her people. Geralt picked Ciri up, Jaskier moved snow off the fence and then a towel, Geralt placed Ciri down on the towel. "Now give Roach the treat, okay Ciri?"
She nodded and leaned forward, Geralt chuckled tightening his grip on her. "Here you go Roachie Roachie!"
The horse bobbed her head up and down before happily taking the treat, chomping on the carrot. "What a good girl," Geralt smiled as he pet her nose. "Alright, you are turning into a Cirisicle, we need to get you inside and warmed up."
"More Coco?"
"Of course love," Jaskier smiled as the three of them made their way back inside their cozy cottage.
