Summary
Bruce had never thought that he’d see a sunray this bright in the dark pit of despair that he called home. And yet, here Superman was, visiting Gotham for the first time. Of course, Batman acted like he didn’t want the meta here. He could handle his city alone.
But in the face of an alien invasion, causing Gotham to be cut off from the rest of the USA entirely, he couldn’t really refuse his help anymore. Not when he clearly needed it. Batman might be prideful, but he wasn’t going to let more people get endangered because of that.
And at the same time, he couldn’t help but feel like he was looking at an angel every time he saw Superman from the corner of his eye. He had to take a closer look at those eyes one day, they looked straight up otherworldly. Well, they kind of were, but still-OR: When they first meet, Bruce really hates Superman, but also can't figure out why he feels so strongly about him. Superman, on the other hand, finds the dark knight just really off putting. Off putting enough to keep on being around him as much as possible, for some reason.
