Summary
Parent-Teacher conferences are kicking Steve’s ass and it’s only day one.
One would think the threat of conference week would keep his kids on their best behavior, but sadly, that’s not the case at all. Steve noticed even the quiet, “good” ones giggling whenever someone shouted “6-7” or derailed Steve’s lesson plan by distracting him with some made-up playground drama.
He had three meetings right after school today and had to stay even later for the fourth, brewing an extra pot of coffee to keep from falling asleep while waiting for the Davenports to show up. And they were late.
The coffee didn’t really help at the time, but now, as he slinks into the living room of the home he shares with his husband, he thinks he’s having some kind of late and adverse reaction to too much caffeine.
It’s the only explanation for why he finds Eddie sitting on the couch with… hockey on the TV.
OR:
Steve comes home from work to find Eddie watching, what he assumes to be, a hockey game. Steve is very, very wrong.
