Summary
The first thing he saw upon entering was the walls. They were full to the brim with lighthouses. Buzzing with blue light, fast purring and updating sounds all around, quiet but overwhelming. The actual lights were on and there was murmuring, constant murmuring.
Khun was the one murmuring.
He paced, in the spacious place, full of machines, and he spoke out calculations, vocal orders and other soft quick words Hatz could not hear so well. He paced there, with a shawl on his shoulders and wrapped around his upper body, covering his arms, one holding the shawl and the other close to his chin as he seemed to think. His hair was up in a ponytail, bouncing gently after him as he agitated himself in a circle. His eyes were dull, like they had lost their focus after not staring at anything for too long, and he walked, and mumured-
And he looked different. But when he turned, his eyes retained their sharp clarity, a dimmed vivacity that still, still existed.
“Good,” Khun, it was Khun, after eleven years it was him. “I almost thought you wouldn’t dare to come in. Close the door behind you, will you?”
